Consciousness

welcome to Autumn 2024

“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom.” - Lao Tzu

Years back, Deepak Chopra was on the Late Late Show and did a very quick, meditation type exercise. He asked people to observe their thoughts and then remarked; if you are observing them then they are not you, so who is the observer?

This brought the audience into a calming atmosphere as they all tasted beingness, collectively. Our theme for this issue is Divine consciousness, and this stepping into your totality of self is who we truly are. It is an integration of humanness into the seat of the Divine. This is the remembrance that is taking place on the planet now.

On a daily basis you are invited, moment by moment, to step into this level of awareness as you engage with the world. You are the point of flow, your internal state, not the personality - with its patterns and learned programs. Time to be free and to step into you truly are. A Divine being in this world. Meanwhile, read, pause and observe this issue from that perspective. Behind the maya, you are the source of peace.

WONDROUS WHEAT

We love the sound of Ballybrado flour, which is 100% organic. What’s more, they use different types of wheat to enhance its health benefits. One of them is Einkorn, known as the ‘original’ and purest form of wheat today. It contains more protein than modern wheat and higher levels of fat, phosphorus, carotenoids and potassium, making it more nutritious. Emmer, another older variety of wheat, is an excellent source of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, betacarotin, and fibre.

GOOD NEWS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE.

1 An Unusual Rescue

BABY BIRD GETS SWADDLED IN A TORTILLA.

While having a barbeque in July, a family in the north Texas city of Amarillo discovered an abandoned baby bird lying cold in their yard. Luckily, the quickthinking mom, Katie Lasher Adlong, came up with an ingenious method of warming it: swaddling the chick in a tortilla fresh off the grill.

When they called the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, the rehabber who answered was understandably sceptical of this approach. However, after collecting the bird, still wrapped in the tortilla, they realised it had been beneficial.

“Undoubtedly, it was an inventive method to keep the baby warm, and surprisingly, it was effective,” the wildlife

centre wrote in their Facebook post.

The young bird, a Mississippi kite hatchling, has been recovering well and has since been named Taquito.

Taquito’s unique rescue was not only successful but also adorable, leading Wild West to create merchandise depicting a baby bird wrapped snuggly in a tortilla to raise money for their operations.

Currently, they are also treating dozens of birds left injured or orphaned after Hurricane Beryl, which devastated the Houston area earlier in July. With over 1,600 animals hurt by the hurricane, The Houston SPCA’s Wildlife Center of Texas reached out to Wild West for help.

Though it’s an overwhelming

number, Wild West said thanks to the amount of people pitching in, they can “do big things”.

Rehabbers and students from the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine are also helping to care for the birds.

“Undoubtedly, it was an inventive method to keep the baby warm, and surprisingly, it was effective.”

2 Hermes Unveiled

ANCIENT STATUE EXCAVATED FROM SEWER.

During the summer, Bulgarian archaeologists conducting routine excavations discovered something unexpected. After noticing a marble foot, the team were thrilled to reveal the rest of the body of Hermes, the Greek messenger god.

“We found it by accident,” Lyudmil Vagalinski, the scientific director of the excavation, reported to The New York Times. “It was amazing. A whole statue appeared in front of us.”

As they found the seven-foot statue in the sewers of Heraclea Sintica, a lesser-known ancient site near Bulgaria’s border with Greece, they surmised residents had placed it there following the 388 CE earthquake.

Earthquakes continually devasted the city until the year 500, when it became desolate due to the gradual takeover of the area by nomadic tribes like the Bulgars and Huns.

According to Vagalinski’s team, the former residents likely placed this valuable statue

underground to protect it from the earthquakes or the newly Christianized Romans who were known to seize pagan artefacts.

This largely unscathed statue is “not only the best preserved among the discovered here, but also on the territory of Bulgaria in general,” said Vagalinski.

Efforts to remove it from the sewer are now underway using a specialized hydraulic crane. Following restoration and conservation work, the ancient statue will go on display at the History Museum in Petrich.

“After noticing a marble foot, the team were thrilled to reveal the rest of the body of Hermes...”

3 Rebirth of Barter

A NEW WAY FORWARD.

In our chat with Carla, creator of the Barterchain app, she opened our eyes to a whole new way of living. Her journey with bartering began back in 2018 when she was living abroad in Madrid after getting her degree in Languages. Despite working hard there as an English teacher, she constantly found herself strapped for cash.

Thinking she could really use a yoga class to destress but couldn’t afford one, Karla had her lightbulb moment: “What if I offered an English class in exchange for yoga?” she wondered.

Within a week, she found herself living a life of luxury, getting yoga classes, Spanish lessons, massages, and housecleaning, all through bartering.

She enjoyed this way of life for two years while travelling around Spain, “living la dolce vita” before the pandemic hit.

Back home in Westport, as she was quarantining and seeing headlines about business closures and unemployment rates, she “could not stop thinking about barter and how many people it would benefit”.

“Within a week, she found herself living a life of luxury, getting yoga classes, Spanish lessons, massages, and housecleaning…”

Determined to replicate what she’d been doing for herself as well as her friends and colleagues, she created the Barterchain app, which launched in August of last year.

Now, over 5000 people around the world are using it to make cashless exchanges of services and skills. The app is completely free, and Carla intends for it to remain that way as she wants people not always to have to rely on the financial system for everything.

Another big plus of the barter system is that it allows us to make valuable connections that aren’t based on monetary exchange.

As phrased by Charles Eisenstein in his book Sacred Economics, it’s really about “connecting human gifts with human needs so we may all live in greater abundance.”

“The connections that come from it are so beautiful cause you take out that transactional element, and it’s just two people offering each other their skills,” Carla explained, “…honouring each other’s time and the value of that.”

1 Looking For Signs

EMPOWERED TAROT READING.

As a conscious manifestor and Tarot reader, my relationship to the cards is shifting as I connect more to my internal power.

I grew up learning Tarot from my mom, who is also a professional Tarot reader, and I remember how fun it was to check in with her about different situations and people energetically. However, she always emphasised that the future is never set in stone, as our own (changeable) energy influences the outcomes suggested by the cards.

For example, if I was asking about an upcoming exam and I got a negative card, it was more likely a reflection of my worries about it than an indication of an external obstacle.

From a Law of Attraction standpoint, these

are the same thing anyway, as our internal world of thoughts and emotions projects outwards to create our external reality.

Even knowing this, a lot of us, myself included, can still be disheartened when we see a challenging card pop up in a reading. In the 3D world we live in, even the most spiritually aware of us are accustomed to looking for outside confirmation. We may have curbed our tendency to ask for other people’s approval, but we still look to the universe for symbols, signs or other “spiritual” forms of external validation.

What I learned recently is that when we are truly in our power, we won’t need anything outside of us to confirm who we are and what we know.

As we collectively come into a

2 Embracing the Unknown

GETTING COMFORTABLE WITH CHANGE.

Our human discomfort with the Unknown, the Void, or however you want to call it, is something I’ve been exploring for a while now. The transitional moments of our lives, even our days, are abundant, whether they are perceptible to other people or not.

I would categorise every emotion (energy in motion) as an encounter with the Unknown, as whether it’s “positive” or “negative”, it’s out of our control. Though we can choose how to interpret the emotion, we still have to feel it and let it pass through our system.

In the past, I noticed myself choosing unhealthy habits or courses of action when faced with a new, challenging situation and, therefore, a new,

uncomfortable emotion. Yet, everything always worked out, usually for the absolute best, so why would I continue to make unwanted choices?

Of course, unconsciously reacting to apparent threats is very normal; our subconscious was designed that way to protect us. Yet, I believe that as we grow in understanding of ourselves and the universe, we can choose responses to our various encounters with the Unknown that serve us better.

For example, right now, I am in a particularly intense (what I would call) Void phase. I’ve let go of many people recently who I was once very close with, and I am not in a relationship for the first time since I was a teenager.

deeper understanding of our divine consciousness, esoteric tools will inevitably carry less weight for us. However, they can still serve as enjoyable sources of inspiration and mirrors of our energy. When used with the awareness that it doesn’t hold any external power or knowledge, Tarot offers a fun and artistic way to explore the endless possibilities in our consciousness!

“…when we are truly in our power, we won’t need anything outside of us to confirm who we are and what we know.”

I’m also currently waiting to hear if I got accepted into a Master’s program, which would require me to live in a new city and country for the next two years. Despite knowing my interests, I don’t have a clear idea of my career path or even what continent I want to live on in the future.

I also know that that’s all okay, as my higher mind has it figured out for me. This time, I don’t want to rush madly through the Unknown, sacrificing the present moment in exchange for a future “security”. I will take my time to do and feel everything I think necessary to be the person I want to be, knowing I am divinely guided beyond comprehension.

“This time, I don’t want to rush madly through the Unknown, sacrificing the present moment in exchange for a future ‘security’.”

TELL US A TIME WHEN YOU FELT UPLIFTED BY THE DIVINE?

Ryan Barnes

I had a Divine encounter about a year ago. During this I encountered what I can only describe as loud thundering. It felt like my ear drums were going to burst with the intensity of the sound. It was not easy to put the sound into words. This thundering translated as the uttering of “Let there be light”.

I was shown that these words were uttered at the beginning of time, and that these words are uttered every time a soul incarnates in this world.

This was followed by the giving of my name, which was David.

I felt the fatherly love of the Divine principle and the intensity of this love. It was so strong that it caused me to purge violently.

This was a pivotal moment in my life as I have experienced the guidance of the Divine father and the love and nurturing from the Divine mother ever since. Feeling that every step is guided and that is no more turning back to who I was.

My life has since become a life of service, proclaiming the kingdom of heaven as we feed those around from the tree of life. For the tree of life will become the new paradigm in this world.

During my yoga teacher training back in 2014, I recall practising asanas alongside a group of individuals whom I was gradually getting to know. At that particular time in my life, I felt overwhelmed and my nervous system was in disarray. Our yoga instructor led us through a sequence of warrior poses, then invited us to move freely, tune in, and establish a connection with our bodies. I experienced a deep and heartfelt connection to something outside of the physical me and space. I felt a release of warmth and tension from my head and throat and in that space discovered a newfound inner strength as I moved. The sense of ‘I’ transformed into a collective ‘we,’ as if someone was gently guiding me forward by placing their hands on my back. This subtle touch lingers with me to this day. Whenever I feel adrift, I turn to what grounds me - meditation, nature, openness, deep listening - which acts as a daily compass that has significantly shifted my outlook on life. Everything changed.

Saolbeo.ie

A moment when I felt deeply connected to something greater than myself was during an early morning walk through a peaceful Canadian forest at 6 am. The sunlight gently filtered through the trees and I was alone in the serene silence. Suddenly, a wave of overwhelming love washed over me, as if a golden thread within me stretched up into the sky, linking me to a loving creator. In that instant, I felt an intense connection to the world around me filled with profound inner peace, power, and love. My fears seemed insignificant compared to the presence I was experiencing. It felt as though I was being lovingly embraced by the creator, reminding me that I was part of something much greater and encouraging me to dream even bigger. This moment of divine connection shifted my perspective, marking the beginning of my spiritual journey from atheism to a deep sense of faith.

Daniel Doyle

The past and present connected: This was a spiritual moment when the divine interconnection on my life path met. I renovated an old VW campervan and reluctantly had to leave a place behind. I have a large cohort of elderly aunts who proceeded to guide me to a tiny village in the south of Ireland to seek a long past ancestor who cared for them as children. Her name was ‘Polly’ - a matriarch of the village who cared and fed many of the young school going children. I enquired and eventually found an ancient old graveyard on a hill, and a grave overgrown, and took a photo that kept my elderly family happy. Fast forward three years and once again I find myself lost, seeking spirituality in my life. I call a random number for Yoga. To this day I still don’t know where I got the number. Only to find out that my now Yoga teacher lives in Pollys’ old house. She still cares through time. Destiny and Yoga.

I’ve never considered myself a spiritual person. I come from Poland, from a Catholic family. As a kid, I used to go to church every Sunday and sang in the choir, but it never resonated with me. When I became a teenager, I started skipping Sunday Mass, which often led to quarrels with my dad.

The moment I began questioning the meaning of life and what happens to us afterward came very unexpectedly. I was 33 years old when my father became gravely ill. I spent his last seven days with him at home, watching his agony and feeling powerless against the disease. The only thing I could do was be by his side. On a Monday at 6:00 pm, he died in my arms, just an hour after his last morphine shot. Holding his head close to my heart as his soul left his body was the most spiritual moment I’ve ever experienced. I feel grateful and privileged to have been by his side as he left this world.

Sometimes, the most profound spiritual experiences come from moments of deep loss and connection.

great spirit is born in us with our children

BOUNDLESS COMPASSION.

When I was pregnant with my first child, some years ago now, my PhD supervisor, a blonde hard-nosed bombshell with a social science background and legal training from my other life back in Australia as an academic researcher, came to visit. I was about eight and a half months pregnant and ripe and bursting, musing on baby names… and about to embark on a journey of birth and parenting that I could not even imagine.

My academic supervisor was a parent of two older children, and she said to me then, something that I’ve never forgotten. She simply said, “Once you have your baby, Anna, you won’t be able to watch the news the same way you did before”. And she was right.

After my daughter was born, my consciousness expanded as exponentially as my womb and birth canal had during her birth. I could no longer watch world news of conflict zones, killings and wars without knowing with terrible visceral certainty that everyone I saw in an army uniform, or starving in a refugee camp or being blown up by bombs, had been somebody’s baby.

Someone, if they’d been allowed to and were still alive themselves, had expanded their whole physicality and, along with it, their consciousness to birth, protect, feed and love this baby enough in whatever limited way for it to make it through to adulthood.

Parenting can be a portal into a consciousness that is vast and connecting. I think this is, in part, why parenting can feel so especially hard at times – we mothers, for example, have opened our wombs and our consciousness to – what the late, great Sinéad O’Connor called - the Universal

Mother. And we know, we sense, we feel, that we are all connected. What happens in Gaza happens inside our hearts.

Then hard times come, triggering our old wounds, or they rip deep new wounds, trauma happens, or someone or society abuses us, and this can lead, as Sinéad knew all too well, to hurt the thing we love the most – our child – who is filled with divinity. We can then go on to hurt, or abuse, or ignore, or belittle this divine being.

And within this painful truth of being human, I have witnessed a universal consciousness in parents, even some who have been shockingly hurt by violence in our world.

I remember in the recent aftermath of the Paris shootings at the Bataclan theatre some years ago, a man, Antoine Leiris, spoke in tribute to his wife, killed that night:

“...On Friday night you stole away the love of my life, my wife, the mother of my [17 month old] son, but you will not have my hatred… responding to this act with anger would be to give in to the same ignorance that made you what you became…”

His words reminded me of a horrific loss in my family and the profound love, rather than hate, expressed by the parents after their three children and her Dad had been killed when a passenger jet was shot down over Ukrainian airspace by a Russian rocket.

In the aftermath, there were calls for retribution from the public and from several in high office. But within days, these children’s parents had issued a statement to ‘the soldiers in the Ukraine,

politicians, media, and friends and family’:

“…our pain is intense and relentless…we live in a hell beyond hell… no-one deserves what we are going through. Not even the people who shot our whole family out of the sky…no hate in the world is as strong as the love we have for our children.

No hate in the world is as strong as the love we have for each other.

This is a revelation that gives us some comfort. We ask everyone to remember this when you are making any decisions that affect us and the other victims of this horror…”

World events have moved on since then, and those same Ukranian soldiers they appealed to for calm are embroiled in a nightmare, not of their making.

There are a few guideposts we can use as parents in the aftermath of the killings and suffering around the world and the other acts of violence that drag on our hopes for a safe and peaceful world. We can continue to walk closer to the Universal Mother.

Firstly, we as parents and human beings need to talk with each other so we can work through our feelings and reactions to shocking world events. We need to do this at times when our children are not present so they don’t have to carry the burden of the emotions we express.

We do need to offload our grief. We may need to show our outrage and fight the helplessness we feel with moments of complete anger. It’s a relief to be supported to show our deeply human responses –crying, trembling, and an open show of upset.

Accessing our gut feelings can help

us recover our ability to use the power we do have. Once we’re freed from our reactions, there is much we can do in our families and communities to make the world right.

It is important for our children to see that we care about people and about justice in the world. But part of our job is to protect young children from constant exposure to news of harm and hurt—there is so much effort to connect and repair that finds no spotlight in the world news. Play Stevie Wonder’s song for Martin Luther King loudly in your car, sing along, and tune in to his divine consciousness.

And it seems to me that “together” is the watchword for dealing with news of violence or death. “What can we do together, as a family, to remember those who died and offer our caring?” is a healing question. We can ask our young

children for their ideas and offer our own. Light a candle? Have a moment of silence?

We do well to listen to our children’s thoughts and choices - and to their feelings as well.

We can remind our children of what we do in our families to help each other when someone is feeling hurt. For instance, we resolve fights by listening carefully.

We make sure people don’t speak hurtfully about anyone else.

We ask someone to listen to our own feelings of upset whenever we can.

And we reach out to people we know have had trouble so that they don’t lose hope, or their sense that others care about them.

As my bereaved relatives said in the face of their horrific loss: “So far, every moment since we arrived home, we have

been surrounded by family and friends. We desperately pray this continues because it is this expression of love that is keeping us alive”.

As parents, we know it takes a great amount of person-to-person love, work and commitment to keep even a small group of people working co-operatively together. Still, it’s these heartfelt skills that we develop - and that widened 360-degree view on life - born as our children are birthed - that are the same skills and consciousness needed to heal our human community.

the journey to understanding christ consciousness

A BEACON OF HIGHER AWARENESS.

I vividly remember the myriad reactions I received when I announced my decision to go back to college and study theology. “A Theo-what?” puzzled faces often responded, accompanied by expressions of shock and bewilderment. People couldn’t fathom why I, someone not exactly religious, would choose to pursue an honours degree in theology. The answer to this enigma lay in a deep-seated curiosity about, among other things, the concept of Christ Consciousness.

The Quest for Knowledge

The term Christ Consciousness intrigued me profoundly. What did it truly signify? Did this consciousness permeate all religions? And what about the religions that don’t believe in Christ—do they lack any conscious awareness? Was the term Christ Consciousness only reserved for men, Christian men at that?

Of course, it’s not exclusive to Christianity, nor does it mean that only Christian males can access this higher state of awareness. Rather, the term Christ Consciousness represents an intrinsic part of each one of us. Words can be very misleading. When you take the word ‘Christ’ out of the equation and refer to a Universal Consciousness, then we get the broader meaning. As renowned theologian Raimon Panikkar aptly describes this as a “cosmotheandric union”. The term “cosmo” refers to the universe, “theo” to God/Source, and “andric” to the human

aspect of us. This union signifies that our higher self is deeply interconnected with the entire universe, and we embody both the divine and the human.

The Essence of Universal Consciousness

Universal Consciousness is not confined to any single belief system; it is a universal presence, a divine essence that resides within all of us, regardless of our religious affiliations. It is the quantum part of us, the part that intra-acts with everything else, allowing us to receive intuition and access a higher level of awareness. This consciousness is present in all religions, spiritual practices and those who do not affiliate themselves with any religion.

The Influence of Reiki

One of my greatest teachers in understanding Universal Consciousness has been my practice of Reiki. For 27 years, I have taught people how to work with the energy that lies within them and connects them to the universe. Through Reiki, I have witnessed profound transformations and higher conscious awareness in individuals. These experiences include:

• Energy Healing: Remarkable healing transformations in individuals’ bodies and minds facilitated by the flow of universal energy.

• Past Life Recollections: Accessing memories from past lives, providing deeper insights into one’s current existence.

• Out-of-Body Experiences: Experiencing consciousness beyond the physical body.

• Connecting with loved ones who have passed.

Conclusion

While my journey to becoming a theologian has been one of profound discovery, it has been my lived experiences through using Reiki, this hands-on and distant healing technique, that have made profound impacts on my life and that of my clients. I know through experience that this consciousness is not just a theological concept but a tangible, transformative force within us all. It is a beacon of higher awareness, guiding us towards a more connected and enlightened existence. Through Reiki and spiritual/ energetic practice, we tap into the wonders that lie within us, unlocking the potential for profound healing and higher conscious awareness. This journey has reaffirmed my belief in the interconnectedness of all beings and the divine essence that permeates our existence.

why all consciousness is divine & why there’s even more to discover
IT’S ALL WITHIN.
by Sandy C. Newbigging
“The truth is there is no distance between you and your Self, i.e. Divine Consciousness.”

Exploring the many states and levels of consciousness within us is known as Svādhyāya - ‘the study of The Self’ – and within that quest is often the attainment of what’s commonly called ‘Divine’ or ‘Christ Consciousness’. Although this is a wonderful goal to aspire to, after over two decades of dedication to this quest myself, I want to offer some clarification and caveats – so you avoid certain spiritual traps when ‘waking up’ and ‘knowing thyself’.

Firstly, let’s get clear on what we even mean by the term ‘state of consciousness’. At a basic level, one way we can measure different states of consciousness is by what’s happening in the body (physical rest) and what’s happening in the mind (alertness).

For example, when in the Sleeping State, the body is resting, but the mind is not alert. In the Dreaming State, the mind isn’t alert, and the body isn’t fully resting either – recall the image of a dog with its paws twitching as it dreams. Or when in the Waking State, which is the state that most people are in when they are awake and going about their daily activities, the mind is more alert, but the body is usually active and, therefore, not resting.

Most people spend their days moving between these three states of consciousness – Waking, Sleeping and Dreaming. However, there’s a fourth, dare I say it, more ‘ideal’ state that exists – when our mind is alert and the body is resting.

I call this the Calming State – when we are consciously aware and present and not caught up in the thinking-mind. Due to the mind-body connection, when the mind is calm, the body naturally rests. Incidentally, this state of conscious alertness and restfulness has also been called Turiya, which in the Sanskrit language means ‘the fourth’, or Samadhi – ‘a state of meditative consciousness’.

If we don’t stop there and continue our ‘study of The Self’, there are more states of consciousness available to us, including Perpetual, Exalted and Unity Consciousness, with this ‘final’ state of oneness often referred to as ‘Divine’ or ‘Christ’ Consciousness.

Within these broader states of consciousness, Dr David Hawkins also proposed more of a ‘spectrum of consciousness’. He suggested the lower levels included states like shame, guilt, fear

and anger, moving up to higher states like love, joy, peace and enlightenment.

Knowing that these higher, more pleasant and expansive, states of consciousness exist and are possible for us can be exciting, and motivate us to keep going on our spiritual journey.

However, here comes my first caveat: Refrain from thinking of them as ‘levels’ or ‘steps’ that you must move up, become or achieve. The ego loves a goal, and if we aren’t careful, our desire to ‘wake up’ and ‘become enlightened’ can become an activity that ends up strengthening the ego and creating more separation within us. Whereby, we get caught in the spiritual trap of believing we need to ‘do something in order to become something’.

All true spiritual teachers have forever said: ‘You are what you seek’. Meaning, you already are what you want. These states of consciousness are already within you. You don’t have to become them; you simply need to awaken to their ‘already existence’.

This is enlightenment. Shining the light of awareness upon the previously unseen and recognising the fullness of the Self that already exists. Therefore, meditation isn’t about trying to become anything but a chance to stop, to be quiet and still, and see the ‘the Self’ that’s been buried under the usual distractions, illusions, busyness and noise.

The more we engage in the inner mechanism of ‘doing to become’, the more we inevitably move away from our innate ‘being-ness’. The part of us that believes we need to do something in order to be is the ego, and if you aren’t careful, the ego can keep you doing to be forever.

I’ve met countless well-intentioned individuals who’ve been on their spiritual path for decades and who are still not quite there yet. The truth is there is no distance between you and your Self, i.e. Divine Consciousness. You won’t find yourself in the future or after you’ve done enough spiritual work. It’s not about doing anything. Instead, it’s about undoing the habit of doing and learning to See Thy Self.

While we are at it, I also urge you not to inadvertently create more separation in your quest for unity with The Divine. Learning about these states of consciousness, it is easy to assume that the ‘lower states’ are not divine and you need to somehow transcend the pesky lower states to

access ‘Divine Consciousness’.

This, again, is a trap because all consciousness is divine. To believe that some are divine, while other states of consciousness are not, is to reinforce the illusion of separation – like you are somehow ‘lost in the wilderness’ or separate from The Divine and that you again have to do stuff in order to ‘get back to God’. This is a falsehood because You Are That.

There is so much to discover within – levels and states – and studying and discovering more of The Self is a wonderful thing we can ‘do’ in our lifetime. Just remember, while you walk your spiritual journey, that there is nowhere else you need to get to (space or time), and ultimately nothing you need to do to become you –except awaken to what already is. Everything is made from and drenched in The Divine, and all of you is That.

Finally, let me leave you with a couple of big questions to support your Self Discovery: What exists within you, which if That didn’t exist, nothing would – including space, time, matter and consciousness? What are all these ‘things’ appearing to arise from?

I spent years exploring consciousness with the aim of experiencing Christ Consciousness while all the time believing that it was the ultimate goal. But what if even Christ Consciousness is also part of the illusionary phenomenon that arises from Source?

Don’t stop or be distracted by the phenomena arising from Source, even if it’s exquisite Christ Consciousness. Aim to discover the many states of consciousness that reside within you while also being open to realising the Source from which all phenomena arise. If you engage in meditation and spirituality from this place, the possibilities are literally infinite.

stepping out of the spiritual closet: embracing consciousness

BE THE ILLUMINATOR.

“Once we enter this dimension, there’s no turning back to lesser knowing.”

For many, this may not resonate immediately. Not everyone is ready, or it may not be their current path, and that’s okay. I’ve spent lifetimes and over 25 years in this lifetime to arrive at this guidance. This article is for those who resonate with this frequency and are ready for the next level in their spiritual journey.

Understanding Dimensions

The third dimension fosters a mindset of duality, categorizing experiences and people as good or bad rather than accepting that everything happens for the highest good. It’s a space where competition thrives, and comparison is the norm. The consciousness in the 3rd Dimension is at a lower frequency. Success is measured by material wealth and social status rather than by love, joy, well-being, and inner peace. Those living in this dimension often seek to numb their experiences through distractions like TV, alcohol, drugs, and parties, avoiding the necessary processing of their emotions.

In the fifth Dimension, we transition from consciousness to subconsciousness and then to a higher level of consciousness. Once we enter this dimension, there’s no turning back to lesser knowing. This dimension embodies unity and Christ Consciousness.

Stepping out of the old & into the new

Stepping out of the spiritual closet isn’t a destination or an end goal; it’s part of the process of ascending dimensions and true acceptance. Knowing where you came from, how much you have evolved, and then embracing the new changes about to occur. Understand that your ancient wisdom is valuable and shouldn’t be compared to a timeline or to the timelines of others. We are all doing the best we can with the tools we have at the time, especially within the journey of healing from our trauma.

Trauma can arise from various sources, from trauma experienced in the mother’s womb to inner childhood trauma, veering us away from that inner understanding that we are all magical beings intertwined with Source. For some, this might only arise in their teenage or young adult years. Others might be

conditioned by fear in their adulthood, causing a disconnect, which can lead to feelings of guilt, shame, fear of rejection, and an overwhelming sense of darkness. Once we identify the trauma and decide to transcend these energies, we need a form of maintenance where somatic healing is absolutely vital. Our DNA is not just a microscopic blueprint; it also contains all the wisdom, information, and data that are part of our evolution. Our DNA contains the DNA of our ancestors, the blood of the land, and the cellular body’s remembrance. A way that the Christ Consciousness of that DNA can flow through is through Kundalini awakenings, somatic healing, and working on deep remembrance. Sometimes, this consciousness can contain a lot of the trauma still held within the body, even when we’ve done portions of the inner work. That’s why we need to be in tune with the body’s matrix and tap into the internal deep wisdom. This gives us the power to transcend the disillusions and the old thought forms that still remain in our DNA. This involves a lot of deconstructing and listening.

Connection and Community Support

We’ve recently entered Period 9 in Feng Shui, focusing on collaboration and connection. Period 9 invites us to align with our need for connection and step into our confidence. These themes support you during your awakening, and your community will hold space for you as you step out of the spiritual closet and into your truth. Sharing your spiritual path, awakenings, and realizations with others does not stem from a place of smallness, self-lack, or fear. It stems from a sacred place of complete empowerment, knowing how, when, and why something is important to share, depending on your own capacity and that of others.

When sharing your spiritual journey, set boundaries and align with others’ readiness to receive. Be mindful of old patterns versus new guidance. Integrate insights before sharing. As you move into unity and wholeness, clear out limiting frequencies. Emerging in your authenticity will inspire others, creating a ripple effect of activation and permission for them to share their journeys.

Stepping Into Remembrance

As you step out of the closet, you will become clearer on who you are, to know on every level and dimension that YOU get to expand to infinite consciousness and realities without the chains and boundaries of the past. This will enable you to become a guide for yourself and others, to reach deep into your deepest knowing and truest form, and activate that in others along your path. In order to do this, you need to step into true remembrance as a mother, father, friend, daughter, son, sister, brother, grid worker, and leader of this new earth.

When you step into true remembrance, you open up the stargates to ancient wisdom and your innate magic that runs through hundreds of generations of ancestors. Whether you are a medicine man or woman, a seer, a lightworker, or a healer, in this moment of remembrance, your mission expands. You will automatically start weaving the ancient into the future, rebirthing together, reclaiming together. Physically, new brain pathways are forged, leading to a profound reconfiguration of the body, mind, and emotions. This doesn’t mean you won’t feel overwhelmed; it means you’ll learn to navigate these experiences and emerge stronger.

Every time you choose expansion and growth, you do so collectively. We are on this pilgrimage together, clearing a path for others through our inner work. If I could leave you with anything, it is to be the bridge that weaves the golden age’s architecture of the future; be the illuminator. Anchor into the mycelium of Source and hold space for yourself and others within that network. We are all loved, and on the inside, we crave that deep knowing to be a light in the world. As you embrace your spiritual journey, remember that your growth and authenticity will light the way for others.

divinity grounded

FULLY HUMAN AND DIVINE.

Divine consciousness refers to connecting to a higher state of being; it exceeds human consciousness.

In my opinion, it is to experience a sense of oneness or interconnectedness with the world around you. It is difficult for me, as I am in my twenties, to tell you that I have exceeded human consciousness. I feel like you would see right through me with that one. Actually, I don’t think many people can say that in general. However, it is something I notice that a lot of people strive for.

I think a lot of people do search for some type of belonging or selfpreservation in this world. Sometimes, that can develop into a spiritual awakening of trying to feel connected to oneself or a higher power. I do think this feeling of wanting to transcend comes from a feeling of discomfort in one way or another. It’s a search for peace by any means.

Recently, I moved to Canada. I have felt that moving so far away from home can present many challenges. A feeling

of not knowing who you are can become overwhelming. To deal with understanding your mind while also being 5000 kilometers away from home is sometimes very far from comfortable.

In that respect, I understand wanting to connect and feel at one with something or other. I even tried to go to church recently.

Within that, I realized I was searching for a saving grace to lift me from myself, to take away my pain. If this is your reasoning to achieve your divine self, I’m not sure if it’s your time.

My question is, do we feel so obligated to connect to these other realities that we forget about our own?

I think feeling oneness can also be paired with feeling like you are a human being with problems that are in this reality.

To deal with that is an extraordinary pleasure.

To live in our reality and to make it our own is a gift.

It’s the gift of testing yourself to see whether you can feel calmness in chaos.

In my opinion, this is a beautiful thing and I will continue to be a very flawed human before I connect to my higher self. However, I do still have things that bring me a sense of oneness within myself.

Nature is one. I went for a cycle the other day and explored my new surroundings; the lake next to me made me feel a light inside myself.

Connection through people is another. To feel at peace with a person, a peace that lets you feel joy when they are near or lets them see your sadness, is one of the most beautiful things in life.

To try to enjoy moments, even if they are exhausting and stressful. To feel at peace with it, to move with intention. Only focusing on the flow of my movement helps me to connect to my body.

ozone therapy

A POWERFUL ALTERNATIVE.

Ozone therapy is the use of medical ozone to relieve the symptoms of various diseases relating to cellular damage caused by excess free radicals (oxidative stress). It can also aid in pain management, chronic fatigue, and anti-ageing treatments, thanks to its role as a cellular “garbage can” that cleans up free radicals.

It does this by producing the three enzymes that constitute the body’s main defence against these radicals: superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase. By neutralizing free radicals, ozone can clean the cellular debris that accumulates throughout one’s life. Preventive ozone therapy could also have a “cellular anti-ageing effect”, given that the current understanding of ageing is based on the accumulation of radicals at an intracellular level (oxidative stress).

Ozone’s other significant benefit is the stimulation of blood circulation, which boosts metabolism. Both blood circulation in the affected tissues and the transport of oxygen, and therefore the supply of energy to those areas, is improved. When applied at a general level (systemic), medical ozone can significantly decrease cellular damage due to lack of oxygenation.

In addition, ozone positively stimulates the immune system. As it generates more aggressive leukocytes (white blood cells), viruses are attacked more quickly and with greater force.

Scientific research has also shown the regulatory effects of ozone on cholesterol, triglycerides, creatinine, uric acid, and glucose in the blood, decreasing the values when they are high and stabilizing them at optimal levels. There is clinical evidence to support ozone therapy as a treatment that improves the quality of life of people with diabetes “to the extent that some insulin-dependent people have been able to reduce their insulin dose by 30 to 50%, due to the ability of ozone to enhance cell glycolysis (use of sugar)”.

Evidently, ozone therapy is continuing to demonstrate its effectiveness as a treatment. While many people still don’t know about it, it has actually been in use for almost 100 years now. Due to its antiseptic properties (it’s antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal), Germans even used it during World War I to prevent soldiers from getting infected, according to Dr Gehad El Bastawisy, the Medical Director and Founder of Regenecare.

In an interview with RED FM, he commented that “this treatment has proven very, very effective” and is now in use all around the world.

Currently, it’s only available in Ireland at the Drummartin Clinic. There, Dr Patrick Magovern offers effective solutions to peoples’ health problems when standard medicine has not worked for them. One patient who suffered a back injury reported that after doing physiotherapy and steroid injections to no avail, he came to Dr Magovern for ozone therapy and noticed an improvement within about five days.

love & enlightenment:

EXPERIENCE THE MIRACLE.

“…the true nature of reality and all the mystical experiences we call miracles are attainable when we are present, aware and in love.”

Finding enlightenment in love is a radical notion, but it isn’t new.

From the Tantras and the Vedas composed thousands of years ago to Christ’s ministry several millennia later, the embodiment of love as a path to enlightenment traces back even further to ancient mystics and rishis who sang songs of love and awakening long before written texts even existed.

The teachings of Christ view the human body as a temple. Perhaps the attributes of Christ Consciousness are a deeply mystical practice in themselves, designed to wake us up from our sleepy lives through compassion and awareness, preparing us to live as our enlightened selves.

Love, the great awakener, coaxes us out of our sleepy state, revealing the perfection and interconnectedness of every moment and all things.

Jesus, Son Of Joseph

Foretold by great prophets Isaiah and Daniel, Yeshua ben Yosef, Jesus, son of Joseph, descendent of the tribe of David, was born in Bethlehem in the 1st century BCE. Immaculate conception, a guiding star, heralding angels and three kings, the story of his birth unfolded with the auspiciousness fitting an awakened being.

Jesus became a carpenter and a scholar. His early years in Nazareth were spent learning his trade and studying the Torah, the Hebrew Scriptures. With a brilliant mind, Jesus realized that the scriptures had been stripped of their original spiritual essence and replaced with rigid orthodox interpretations. He would later devote his life to sharing their original message of love, interconnectedness and unity.

Christ, The Anointed One

At the age of 30, Jesus was baptized by his cousin, John the Baptist. When he emerged from the river Jordan, a divine message, much like those heard by the ancient mystics and rishis, whispered through the trees, revealing his identity and his destiny.

Jesus, son of Joseph, a clansman, a carpenter, and a storyteller, was Christ, the anointed one, the Messiah, an enlightened being destined to change the world.

The Enlightened Ones

Enlightened ones who lived near the time of Jesus. Beautiful paths of awakening, mystical powers and miracles.

Buddha (6th-5th century BCE) was a wandering ascetic born to royal parents. Buddha was known for his mastery over the mind and powers like walking on water, becoming invisible, bi-location and telepathy. He taught a Middle Way between sensual indulgence and severe asceticism.

Lao Tzu (6th century BCE) was a Chinese philosopher and the founder of Taoism. Lao Tzu was said to perform miraculous healings and could appear and disappear at will. His writings discuss the Tao, the natural way of the universe.

Patanjali (2nd century BCE) was a Hindu sage who is believed to have authored a number of Sanskrit works, the most prominent of which is the Yoga Sutras. Patanjali taught eight limbs of yoga including siddhis, yogic powers acquired through introspection.

Prakriti (1st century BCE) was a female avatar of Goddess Sri and a teacher of the Tantric tradition. Prakriti established devotional rituals and spiritual techniques designed to dissolve social conditioning and experience enlightenment.

Jesus (4th-1st century BCE) - With story, parable and miracles, a living example, Jesus ignited spiritual awakening in his followers through his teachings of love.

Love, acceptance and openness.

Unity, interconnectedness and oneness.

Humility, equality and appreciation.

Forgiveness, empathy and understanding.

Peace, stillness and spaciousness.

Gratitude, gratefulness and acknowledgement.

Service, awareness and devotion.

Wisdom, insight and knowing.

Joy, effervescence and celebration.

This is the embodiment of Christ Consciousness. A way of living and being accessible to everyone. When we think of miracles, they can sometimes seem otherworldly. Like so many teachers before him and since, Jesus revealed that the true nature of reality and all the mystical experiences we call miracles are attainable when we are present, aware and in love.

Your Embodiment

A practice to create miracles.

First, create a space for your practice, indoors or out in nature. You’ll need a blanket, a pillow and if you wish, some light music. Allow 5 - 10 minutes for each phase of your practice.

Begin sitting silently. Let the day go, and turn your senses inward. Listen to the stillness inside you. Let go of any goal and just be.

When you feel ready, lie down on the blanket with the pillow under your head. Notice the softness and texture of the blanket, the feeling of your breathing, the light streaming into your space.

Place your hands on your body, anywhere. And begin to explore with touch.

Explore the contours and the surfaces, the temperatures and sensitivities. Feel your body as yours.

Once you are settled into the practice and feel ready to take the next step, explore your body with love.

Love, acceptance and openness.

Feel the feelings of love. Touch your body with love. Dissolve into love.

Explore for as long as you wish. Sink deeper into your body. Absorb the sensations of love. Breathe as love. Be love. Once you’ve fully dissolved into love, pause for a moment, then begin the process again, this time exploring your body with unity.

Unity, interconnectedness and oneness.

Take your time.

Explore as long as you wish. Sink deeper into your body. Absorb the sensations of unity. Breathe as unity. Be unity.

Continue with each of the qualities until you have infused your body with each of them.

You are the embodiment of Christ Consciousness, finding enlightenment in love.

a journey beyond the ordinary mind exploring divine consciousness:

EXPAND YOUR VIEW.

Divine consciousness is often described as a state of awareness that transcends the ordinary limits of human perception, providing a sense of unity, profound clarity, and an interconnected understanding of all existence. While traditionally discussed within religious contexts, divine consciousness is more broadly accessible as a concept that reflects an elevated state of being characterized by heightened self-awareness, boundless compassion, and deep insight into the nature of reality.

At its core, divine consciousness signifies a shift in how one perceives the world. It represents a move away from fragmented, ego-centered thinking toward a more expansive awareness that sees the interconnectedness of all things. Unlike everyday consciousness, which is often clouded by personal biases, fears, and desires, divine consciousness is marked by a clear, holistic view. In this state, the boundaries between the self and the external world blur, leading to a sense of oneness and unity.

This experience is often described as an awakening to a deeper truth that transcends intellectual understanding. It is as if the mind taps into a source of knowledge that is inherent within all life, beyond words and concepts. People who access this state frequently report feelings of intense peace, boundless love, and a sense of purpose that is aligned with the greater flow of life.

Reaching a state of divine consciousness typically involves a process of inner transformation. It is not something that is achieved through intellectual effort alone but rather through practices that help transcend ordinary mental patterns.

Meditation, for example, is one of the most commonly cited practices for opening the door to expanded awareness. Through sustained focus and letting go of distractions, meditation helps quiet the mind, allowing one to access deeper layers of consciousness. In these still moments, individuals can experience a sense of

presence and clarity that transcends the limitations of habitual thinking.

Similarly, mindfulness—being fully present in the moment—can help in cultivating an awareness that is less bound by ego and more attuned to the flow of life. As one becomes more centered in the present moment, the mind’s usual chatter subsides, and a more refined, interconnected perception can emerge.

Creative expression can also serve as a gateway to divine consciousness. Art, music, and other creative endeavors often allow people to transcend their ordinary sense of self and tap into a more expansive flow of energy and inspiration. In such moments, the creative process becomes less about the individual and more about channeling something greater, leading to experiences of profound insight and connection.

“In this state, the boundaries between the self and the external world blur, leading to a sense of oneness and unity.”

People who experience divine consciousness often describe a few common qualities:

1. **Interconnectedness**: A deep sense of connection with all living beings and the universe as a whole. This awareness of unity leads to a compassionate view of life, where the well-being of others is seen as inseparable from one’s own.

2. **Timeless Awareness**: The sense of time often shifts or dissolves. In this state, there is a feeling of being fully present, where past and future fade into a continuous now.

3. **Clarity and Insight**: With ordinary distractions and biases set aside, one can experience a profound clarity of perception. This heightened awareness

often brings insights into the nature of reality, the self, and the mysteries of existence.

4. **Inner Peace**: Divine consciousness is typically accompanied by a deep sense of peace as the struggles and conflicts that arise from ego-driven thinking subside. In this state, one feels aligned with the flow of life, leading to contentment and tranquility.

While moments of divine consciousness can be fleeting, the transformation they bring can have lasting effects. Those who have accessed this state often report a fundamental shift in how they live their daily lives. Relationships improve as compassion deepens, and decisions are made with a sense of alignment with a greater purpose. Even in the face of challenges, there is a resilience born from the understanding that life is part of a larger, interconnected whole.

Cultivating divine consciousness is an ongoing journey, one that involves continuous inner work and the shedding of limiting beliefs. As individuals deepen their connection with this higher state of awareness, they move closer to living in harmony with the flow of life itself— experiencing not only personal growth but also contributing to the greater well-being of the world.

Divine consciousness represents a profound and elevated state of awareness that transcends ordinary human perception. It is a shift from fragmented thinking to a holistic understanding of life, marked by unity, clarity, and deep compassion. By embracing practices that expand consciousness, individuals can access this state, leading to a life enriched with peace, purpose, and a deeper connection to the world around them.

a path to love, healing, and unity

THE LENS OF LOVE.

In today’s world, where chaos and division often dominate the narrative, there’s an urgent call to return to the heart, to reconnect with the essence of who we truly are. This essence, often referred to as Christ Consciousness, is not confined to any one religion or belief system. It is a universal state of being, an awareness of the divine love that permeates all of creation. Christ Consciousness invites us to live from a place of unconditional love, compassion, and unity, transcending the limitations of the ego and embracing the interconnectedness of all life.

For many, the term “Christ Consciousness” may evoke images of religious figures or doctrines. However, it’s essential to understand that this consciousness goes beyond religious boundaries. It’s about embodying the qualities of Christ—the qualities of pure love, forgiveness, humility, and service. These are qualities that every human being has the potential to cultivate, regardless of their spiritual or religious background.

At its core, Christ Consciousness is an invitation to return to love. In a world where fear often dictates our actions, this consciousness asks us to choose love instead. Love is not just a feeling; it is a state of being, a way of seeing the world and ourselves. When we view life through the

lens of love, we begin to see the divine in everyone and everything. We move from a place of judgment to a place of compassion, from separation to unity.

The journey to Christ Consciousness begins within. It requires a deep commitment to inner transformation, a willingness to confront our shadows and heal the wounds that keep us disconnected from our true selves. This is not an easy path, but it is a necessary one. As we heal, we peel away the layers of fear, anger, and resentment that obscure our connection to the divine. We come to realize that the divine is not something outside of us but something that resides within us.

Mindfulness and presence are essential practices on this journey. By being fully present in each moment, we can tap into the divine energy that flows through us. This presence allows us to connect with the still, small voice within—the voice of our higher self, the voice of Christ Consciousness. In this state of awareness, we are no longer ruled by the ego’s demands. Instead, we are guided by the wisdom and love of the divine.

Christ Consciousness also calls us to service. When we awaken to the truth of our interconnectedness, we naturally feel compelled to help others. Service becomes a natural expression of our love

and compassion. Whether it’s through small acts of kindness or larger efforts to uplift our communities, serving others is a powerful way to embody Christ Consciousness in our daily lives.

In embracing Christ Consciousness, we open ourselves to profound healing. This healing is not just physical but emotional and spiritual as well. As we align with this higher consciousness, we begin to experience a sense of wholeness, where body, mind, and spirit are in harmony. We move from a place of fragmentation to a place of integration, where all aspects of ourselves are united in love.

For me, Christ Consciousness is the path to awakening, a journey back to the heart. It is an invitation to live in love, to heal ourselves and others, and to recognize the divine within and around us. As we embrace this consciousness, we not only transform our own lives but also contribute to the healing and upliftment of the world. I’m often asked, ‘How do we change the world?’ and the answer is by working on yourself. Let us walk this path with courage, compassion, and an open heart, knowing that we are all connected in the light of divine love.

In the 10 years that I have been volunteering and working for Hometree, I have had numerous wonderful experiences when nature seems to speak loudly or when I am quiet enough to listen properly. One of the most striking experiences I had was when I had the privilege of visiting a large piece of land that was for sale. It was a very exciting prospect because the land adjoined an ancient woodland and would have been an excellent landscape restoration project. Coincidentally, next to the piece of land we were interested in purchasing was a very old stone circle. I don’t have a strong relationship with divine consciousness, but the moment I walked into the stone circle, I received a very clear message: “It’s not no; it’s just not right now.” I was overwhelmed with an unexplainable emotion, and many tears fell from my cheeks.

About 15 minutes later, while I was exploring the land we were interested in, I got a phone call from the auctioneer informing me that the land we were looking at was now off the market. It had been on the market for eight months, and

it just so happened that the day I went to look at it, they decided to take it off. The message I received that day, I believe, was more profound than the potential purchase. Being open, listening with all of my senses, and approaching with curiosity and tenderness allowed me to have one of the deepest connections with nature I have ever experienced. This isn’t something we actively promote in the organization, but I know many of the team feel a strong, heartfelt connection to the work we are doing.

Hometree is a nature restoration charity based in the west of Ireland. We work to establish and restore resilient habitats, focusing on native temperate rainforests. Our approach integrates community, culture, science and natural systems. Through afforestation, conservation, restoration and education, we hope to nourish the landscape and create new ways for communities to relate to nature.

BRAIN, BODY AND EMOTIONS UNITE IN HEALTH.

Emotional health exercise

At the end of Gabor Mate’s talk in Dublin this summer, he invited the audience to take part in an exercise. The charity event was organized by Jacqueline Kyne, a wellbeing event creator, and raised €33,000 for their main charity partner, Lumule Foundation. Additional funds went to local charity, Hugg, a suicide bereavement charity.

We were instructed to turn to the person next to us and take turns talking and silently, yet actively, listening to each other. The topic was to describe where we were having difficulty saying a ‘no’ that wanted to be said in our lives.

The exercise went very deep, very quickly. It became instantly apparent that the reasons for which we have trouble saying ‘no’ can reach far and deep into our beliefs and psyches. When I told a friend of the exercise a few days later, she curiously asked me if I had any ‘no’ that wanted to be said in relation to her.

Immediately, my ‘no’ surfaced. I told her that I always had such a horrible feeling when I was left standing outside her door for ages, when I visited, and I’d like that not to happen. As I spoke a feeling from way back began to rumble under my skin. A terrible discomfort rose up to meet me. I had a flashback of being locked in a room at my childminder’s house. Being left there for what felt like a very, very long time, to ‘sleep’ – which I never did. Feeling I was left standing behind a closed door was a trigger for me. Waiting, being left to wait, feeling unseen, unheard, uncared for... all lay behind the inexplicable anxiety I batted away from my conscious mind while waiting at my friend’s door.

From there on out my friend and I developed a system where I’d text her and we’d meet in the gardens in front of her home. This was healing happening. I had listened to myself and spoke up. Moreover, I was listened to by a compassionate other and action was taken which addressed my feelings. In this way, just as hurt occurs from seemingly tiny acts so healing can too. This is an important knowing to carry with us as we live and interact with one another.

Mind-Body Connection

Gabor Mate is a Canadian-Hungarian physician. He worked in family practice for over twenty years, as medical co-ordinator of palliative care at Vancouver hospital for seven years and as staff physician at Portland Hotel, Vancouver for twelve years. He has also worked in facilities for those suffering from drug addiction for many years. Having worked within the medical frame-work for most of his career thus far Gabor has, in his latter years, stepped out of the framework it offers for health or, rather, treatment of symptoms of dis-ease.

Gabor not only advocates that the mind and body are connected as one, but also gives powerful examples of how they connect with, and reflect, one another;

“The brain and body systems that process emotions are intimately connected with the hormonal apparatus, the nervous system, and in particular the immune system.”

How did he find these examples? By simply observing, and spending time talking with, his patients throughout his years of service. He asked questions and, crucially, he listened deeply. It is

astonishing how rare this behaviour has become. It’s equally fascinating how revealing and healing the simple acts of asking, listening and responding can be.

Expertly questioning and listening to his patients, Gabor discovered links between particular physical ailments and the presence of certain emotional processes. The emotions reflected in the bodily functions or dysfunctions. Where emotion was suppressed or blocked certain physical functions were also, ultimately, impeded.

Thus, if we can understand our emotions in a healthy way, allow them to exist and function, then we are contributing towards our physical health. The emotional component to a healthy lifestyle has been missing for so many of us and it is now time to integrate emotional healthy living habits into our daily routine.

Let’s take a look at an emotion which is complex and often misunderstood –Anger. Gabor helps us to see our anger in a positive light, to be clear on how anger is to be used as nature intended and to unblock any beliefs which led us to shame ourselves for, deny or suppress our anger.

Healthy Anger = Healthy immunity

Gabor links healthy anger to a healthy immune system. Anger is akin to an antibody in this understanding which Gabor gleaned from conversations with patients grappling with chronically compromised immune systems and thus, chronic illness.

When we feel angry in a healthy way, there is a flash of energy released which alerts us to the fact that a boundary has been breached. When we then use that fiery

outburst of anger energy in a healthy way – to say or act out a firm ‘no’ to the breach, then we are using our anger to protect our emotional/mental boundaries and it works as nature intended. After the action has been taken, or words spoken, the anger naturally dissipates.

A healthy immune system responds similarly to breaches – such as when bacteria or virus enter our body-space – by releasing antibodies to defend, attack and neutralize the breach thereby protecting our physical health.

When we have chronic difficulty allowing our anger to express itself, and fulfil it’s function, this suppressed anger can ultimately effect the functioning of our immune system in Gabor’s understanding.

Self-inquiry tool

Some of Gabor’s parting words that summer evening in Dublin were to say that “this exercise will change your life.” It has already changed mine and I hope that you too will find it life enhancing. So, get out your notebooks, or make a poster for your wall, here is something you can do daily to tend to your emotional-mental-physical health.

You can do this exercise daily in your notebook or perhaps with a trusted friend weekly. Make it yours. Treat it as the valuable and powerful medicine it is!

“Where did you have difficulty expressing a ‘no’ that wanted to be expressed today/this week?

What is the impact on me of not saying this ‘no’?

What is the belief behind the difficulty?

Where did I learn those beliefs?

Who would I be if I didn’t believe that?

Where am I not saying a ‘yes’ where a yes wants to be said today/this week?”

Gabor has a range of books on parenthood, on the physical effects of emotional stressors (‘When the body says no’), on the emotional roots of addiction (‘In the realm of hungry ghosts’) and on trauma, illness and healing (‘The Myth of normal’). He is a truly great mind and compassionate heart of our times.

THE RISE OF FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE.

As a nutritional therapist and current director of the Functional Medicine Conference Ireland, I wanted to share the principles of functional medicine that guide my practice, the vision behind our conference, and the legacy of Maev Creaven, whose pioneering spirit continues to inspire us all.

Functional medicine represents a significant advancement in medical and healthcare practice; by moving away from the traditional disease-centred focus, it adopts a more patient-centred approach, treating the whole person rather than just a set of isolated symptoms.

For over 30 years, the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) has been a leading advocate for this transformation. IFM supports the practice of functional medicine through extensive education and certification programs, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and global advocacy. Their education provides healthcare providers with a comprehensive “toolbox” to thoroughly investigate a patient’s history and uncover underlying issues.

How Is Functional Medicine Different?

Functional medicine distinguishes itself by providing a science-backed holistic approach to understanding, preventing, and in a conventional medicine setting, treating complex chronic diseases. It blends traditional Western medicine with essential complementary practices, emphasizing patient-centred care and focusing on prevention through nutrition and lifestyle practices. This approach also utilizes advanced diagnostic techniques tailored to each individual’s needs.

What is Nutritional Therapy, and how does it differ from conventional medicine?

Nutritional Therapy applies nutrition and health science to support individuals in achieving their optimal health potential. It also uses a client-centred, systems-based approach to identify the root causes of health issues. By leveraging food and, if necessary, dietary supplements and lifestyle advice, this approach is designed to complement conventional medicine and enhance the medical practitioner’s diagnosis and treatment plan.

Welcome to the Future of Health: An Introduction to The Functional Medicine Conference Ireland.

Since its inception in 2016, the Irish Lifestyle and Functional Medicine Conference has thrived, propelled by the hard work, vision, dedication, and passion of its founder, Maev Creaven. Under Maev’s leadership, the conference became a leading advocate for science-based health and wellness education, bringing together practitioners from diverse backgrounds to share the latest information and research. Sadly, our industry was devastated by the passing of Maev in August 2022.

Maev’s legacy stands as a guiding light, inspiring us to further develop

this crucial educational initiative. Her pioneering spirit and dedication ensure that practitioners throughout Ireland and beyond will continue to benefit from the path she paved.

Our theme for the 7th Annual Lifestyle and Functional Medicine Conference Ireland, taking place this November in Galway, is “Unlocking Resilience: A Functional Approach to Building Inner Strength”. True to the conference’s exceptional reputation, we will present the latest insights on this crucial topic, featuring expert and inspirational speakers.

Focused on enhancing resilience in a post-pandemic world, our theme aims to equip both practitioners and their clients with the tools to build robust resilience and effectively navigate future challenges.

Looking ahead, I imagine a future where functional medicine is seamlessly integrated into the healthcare system. In this future, patients will be empowered to actively engage in their own health and well-being. When faced with chronic illness, they would naturally seek support not only from conventional medicine but also from a diverse range of qualified practitioners that would complement conventional treatments and enhance the overall diagnosis and treatment plan.

Thanks to trailblazers like Maev, I believe that this future is already within reach.

The two-day practitioner conference will take place from 16th-17th November 2024. Find out more at fmcireland.com

future-proof your garden

TIPS FOR GROWING SUSTAINABLY.

The gardens of the future are resilient to climate change, are more sustainable by reducing waste, recycling materials and saving water and produce healthy vegetables by being more biodiverse.

And the good news is that everyone can be part of the solution, even if space is scarce.

Gardening in containers, on patios, balconies and rooftops are all suitable options in a more urban environment. And for people with no gardens and none of the above, there are community gardens, buyer cooperatives, and communitysupported agricultural schemes available nearly everywhere. If they are not, they can be organised.

The current climate forces us to think more long-term about our gardens and how we grow our food. As the seasons become more unpredictable and weather patterns change, we have to prepare ourselves for more periods of hot, dry spells as well as more rain.

Future-proofing our gardens means making them more resilient to changing

garden by saving water, sharing seeds and propagating plants ourselves, recycling and composting and using sustainable materials.

We often forget that the simple step of growing “organically” has a huge impact, immediately reducing our carbon footprint.

Here are some practical tips on how to future-proof your garden:

• Utilise small spaces like patios, balconies, and windowsills, and grow in pots, containers and raised beds.

• Choose plants that give you value for space, intercrop and interplant flowers with vegetables.

• Consider vertical solutions to maximise your space.

• Plant and grow in succession to maximise your harvest.

• Use companion planting to increase the variety and minimise problems.

• Choose plant varieties that are suited to your local climate and more resilient to weather extremes.

• Use sustainable practices like composting, mulching and natural pest control to reduce waste, conserve water and promote healthy soil.

• Choose durable and quality materials that last long and require little maintenance, e.g. ceramic and terracotta pots.

• Design your garden with flexibility in mind.

• When it comes to more permanent features like hedges or trees, consider carefully their ultimate size and suitability to your local microclimate.

BEETROOT AND QUINOA TABOULEH

This is a traditional recipe from Frankfurt, my native town in the Bundesland Hessen in the middle of Germany. The sauce has to be made from seven herbs because 7 is a magic number.

Ingredients:

• 115g (4oz) quinoa

• 250ml water or vegetable stock

• 2-3 tbsp olive oil

• 2 large red (or white) onions, chopped finely

• 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

• 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

• 2 small raw beetroots, grated finely (about 200g/7oz)

• Small handful of raisins (optional)

• Handful of flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped, plus extra to serve

• Sea salt and black pepper

Method;

1 Put the quinoa in a sieve and rinse thoroughly under the cold tap, then put into a saucepan with 250 ml of water or vegetable stock and bring to a boil. Cover and leave to cook slowly for 18-20 minutes. Remove from the heat and leave to stand, still covered for 5 minutes.

2 Meanwhile, warm the olive oil, add the onions, stir to coat with the oil, then cover and leave to cook gently for 10 minutes or until very tender.

3 Stir the balsamic vinegar into the onions, let it bubble, then remove from the heat. In a big bowl, add the onion mix, the quinoa, lemon juice, beetroot, parsley, sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Scatter a little more parsley on top and serve.

Tip - For a colourful presentation, e.g. for a party, serve this salad on red or green salad or chard leaves.

New expressions of masculinity

HACK LOVE AND HEAL.

Conor Creighton is something of a homegrown spiritual guide. I was fascinated when I first came across his work. There was a down-to-earthness and authenticity that was refreshing. Also refreshing was the fact that, from my eyes, I see an Irish male very much stepping out of the outworn garment of manhood and into a new expression of masculinity. One where love is talked about, depression, the experience of being male and so much more that has lain heavy and silent in the minds of our menfolk for too long a time.

At the time I discovered Conor, a male colleague in work was experiencing grief which hung like a dark cloud over our office. He did not speak about it but I had heard through the grapevine that his best friend had just died. I went googling for something that might reach him and came across Conor that day. I printed out his free online book ‘In case of emergency’ and gave it to my colleague. I printed out his mini book ‘How to talk to men’ that same day, realising there was a gap in my ability to reach this man sitting right next to me.

‘Healing in Public’

So, over a year later, when I sit down to speak to Conor I finally hear from the man himself what inspires and motivates him;

“I don’t think of myself as a spiritual teacher. I’m just healing in public. I teach what I can. Everything else is just me trying to be as authentic as possible… I’m aware that this never ends, there’s layers and layers of healing that I’m going through all the time.”

Conor feels that as we come to “the end of the age of authority” he wants to offer guidance towards our own inner seat of authority;

“It’s so important that we all have the confidence to follow our own inner authority rather than giving our power away...So much can be done from just developing your internal landscape. I don’t teach people, I remind them of what they already know.”

‘Hacking Love’

Conor’s most recent offering is a course in ‘Hacking Love’. The hidden curriculum in this course was not so much seeking love ‘out there’ but rather an internal landscape shift, where participants discover inadvertently “how not to reject love”; “Many people realized ‘oh, I don’t love myself’, ‘I don’t think I’m worthy of love, of happiness’. The course allowed people to fully realize this. From there you can start to build the pieces. So many of us assume we are on our own side but we’re not.”

Conor’s website is a great place to start exploring what’s on offer.

Heaven On Earth

RETURN TO UNITY CONSCIOUSNESS.

Janet Hickey is an energy therapist specialising in Rahanni Celestial Healing, a heart-based modality that has led her on an incredible journey over the past eighteen months.

In our chat with her, she shared her experiences of visiting the primary chakra centres of the Earth and what they mean for us as a collective, including her recent trip to Mount Shasta in California.

As she had been working with very feminine nurturing energy up until then, she didn’t know what to expect from her visit to Mount Shasta, a masculine energy site representing the root chakra.

When she got there for the solar eclipse on April 8th, she was stunned.

“The vibration there on Mount Shasta is definitely heaven on earth,” she told us. “It just speaks to you,” vibrationally, “calling you home to this sense of unity”.

On an earlier visit to Egypt, the throat chakra of the Earth, Janet tuned in to the painful imbalance of masculine and feminine energy on our planet. Yet there, at the root chakra, all she could feel was unity, “that unconditional love of the divine”.

As souls who have reincarnated

“When she got there for the solar eclipse on April 8th, she was stunned.”

into human bodies, she explained, the root chakra is the root of our separation and fear. When we only identify with the “I” of our human ego, we get stuck in separation consciousness, but when we step into our powerful “I Am” state, we can experience being fully human and fully divine simultaneously, as she did at Mount Shasta.

In a vision during her meditation there, she saw an eagle, and on her way home the next day, she was awestruck to see one appear above the car. The eagle is a symbol of North America, she shared, which embodies the Masculine and the mind, whereas the condor represents South America, the Feminine and the heart.

Interestingly, in Incan culture, there is a prophecy that when the eagle and condor fly together again, it will mark our awakening and ascension into a new level of consciousness and a new earth.

Janet remarked how sychronistically symbolic this is of the imminent reunion of polarity. By working from the crown chakra down to the root, we’re clearing and purifying Earth’s whole energetic system so that Kundalini energy can rise again without interference.

On an individual level, this will look like “blocks”, “challenges”, or “resistance”, showing up until we realise there is nothing to fear, only love.

“There’s nowhere else to go,” she explained because love is all there is.

In her one-on-one work with clients, Janet helps them identify what is separating them from their natural state of love and unity before gently guiding them back to it.

She wants everyone to know that whatever experiences your soul has chosen to go through in this lifetime, however challenging, serve a purpose. We go through them so we can feel the “depths of the dark”, thereby expanding our capacity to embody the light, she said.

As Janet will be energy working in Tibet for the month of September she is offering Positive Life Magazine readers a 20% discount off private sessions from October 8th. You can book now through her website below.

Healing With Nature

HOW ECOTHERAPY SUPPORTS MENTAL HEALTH.

We are just beginning to grasp how deeply our mental health is influenced by this era of uncertainty and monumental change.

From an evolutionary perspective, our brains and DNA have not evolved as quickly as our living conditions. Modern humans have been around for about 200,000 years, and for most of that time, we have lived outdoors in close connection with Nature.

If human history was compressed into a single day, our urban existence would span only about 14 minutes, starting with ancient Rome over 2,000 years ago. Our current lifestyles—characterised by insulated homes, technology, and increasing detachment from Nature—represent less than 3 minutes of this timeline.

Research shows that Nature Connection is essential for mental and physical well-being. Biologist E.O. Wilson introduced the term “biophilia” to describe the innate, genetically embedded affinity humans have for the natural world.

The growing disconnect we have been experiencing globally for the last few decades has left a significant impact on our health and the health of our planet Earth. This is where “ecotherapy” comes in.

Ecotherapy is an umbrella term for practices that lead to mutual healing and reconnection between the human body and mind and the natural world. Originally, ecotherapy was restricted to clinical settings, but thankfully, this fast-emerging field has opened up and now includes diverse interventions such as horticultural therapy, animal-assisted approaches, forest bathing, eco art therapy, and so much more.

Especially in these times of change, reconnecting with the natural world helps us to see that human and planetary health are intricately connected and that we can’t have one without the other.

Reclaiming Our Heritage ÉRIU – 100% IRISH WOOL.

Ireland has an incredible legacy of wool, yet most people don’t know that we now import and export the majority of it. Irish wool has been deemed worthless for the past few decades, Zoë Daly, the creative force behind Ériu, explained.

This tragedy was the impetus for her to create her oneof-a-kind brand, which is revitalizing the Irish wool industry thread by thread.

“Our mission statement at Ériu is to put a value back on Irish wool,” she told us, and they’re certainly making headway.

Working with farms all around the country, including her fiancé Lionel’s farm in Wicklow, Ériu are able to create high-quality wool from a blend of two Irish sheep.

“We’ve set up a network to incentivize farmers to grow

“It passes through very few hands, and the hands it passes through infuse it with love.”

and increase flocks of the select breeds that we work with”, Zoë shared, which ensures they get the right price for their wool.

Though she doesn’t have a background in farming or textiles, Zoë does have an amazing granny from Sligo who knitted her the most wonderful baby blanket a few years ago. Made from 100% wool, it was like nothing she’d ever seen, with the miraculous ability to calm her baby while being temperature-regulating and allowing airflow.

Now, through Ériu, the only Irish brand using 100% Irish wool, other people can access this “national treasure” and experience its incredible qualities first-hand.

There is also a spiritual component to the wool, Zoë believes, having named her brand after a Celtic sovereignty goddess.

By wearing this wool, we can physically and energetically reconnect to Ireland’s sacred land and culture. Spiritually aware people have even had otherworldly experiences while sleeping or meditating with Ériu blankets!

There is definitely something sacred about this wool, maybe because “It passes through very few hands, and the hands it passes through infuse it with love.”

Irish wool is a miracle bio-fibre, full of healing qualities and is a scientifically proven high frequency fabric, meaning it enhances the health and vibration of your energy field. It is also temperature regulating, nonallergenic, stain and odour resistant, it sequesters carbon and is completely circular and sustainable.

When you invest in an Ériu product, not only are you choosing health and vitality for your body; you are helping us rebuild this ancient and important indigenous industry. We are paying farmers over 10 x industry price to encourage them to once again breed Irish sheep who have been devalued for decades.

Our ancestors knew the value of this ancient network which has gone into a tragic decline, creating a situation where Irish wool is being exported whilst non-indigenous wool is imported.

Ériu was inspired and guided by the Goddess of Ireland herself, Queen of Fertility, Abundance of the land and Sovereignty. She represents our mission at Ériu.

OLEO – NATURAL PAIN RELIEF.

Somatic Breathwork

ANOTHER WAY HOME.

I’m still enveloped in wonder in the wake of my first conscious connected breathing experience last weekend, led by Marisa Radha Weppner.

For years, I used pranayama and deep breathing as way to experience relaxation, deep rest and awareness of higher Self. For so many of us we need this experience to regulate our nervous systems - be guided into a place of feeling at ease and relax into the home of our body - as is our birthright.

Now, however, there is a wave of breath work travelling across the world with other specific aims; one of which is to reach beyond the surface of our consciousness, unearth deep seated traumas, emotional or energetic blockages and come closer to who we really are – which lies beneath.

When we sat down to chat with Richard Creagh, co-founder of Oleo, he shared that they started this company in 2019 with the aim of expanding the application of medical cannabis in Ireland.

As only three medical conditions are eligible for treatment here, they had to find another way to work towards this aim, which led to the launch of their app, Oleocare.

Oleocare offers doctors who are treating people with medical cannabis a remote patient monitoring platform to track the dosage and triage the patient. It’s available for anyone to download for free in six different languages, supporting doctors and patients worldwide.

For those who cannot access medical cannabis treatment for whatever reason, Oleo also has an over-the-counter solution to target a range of common issues: the Oleo Air Inhaler.

This device contains around 25-28 per cent of HHC (a semisynthetic cannabinoid derived from CBD), offering an alternative to the prescription-only THC (a medical cannabinoid).

In working with the well-established company Eybna, Oleo has created specific formulations used to target different receptors in the brain.

Their “pain” formulation, for example, comes in two flavours, Sparkle Strawberry and Sweet Watermelon, which help to target three receptors: TRPV1, CB2, and CB1.

While they can’t make any medical claims as this is an over-thecounter product, Richard shared that the feedback from customers so far has been overwhelmingly positive. The “pain” inhaler, in particular, is really popular, as people can use it for anything from shoulder to back pain, he explained.

Nonetheless, Richard still hopes to see this natural solution play a greater role in the country’s medical system:

“We need dedicated clinics for treatments for medical cannabis in Ireland, and I think the sooner that comes, the better, and we’ll see a huge amount of patients finding relief using a natural product and at a much lower cost to the health service.”

Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) is a powerful way to move this energy through the body-mind and release it. It is a breathing technique which is all about breathing in a rhythmic, connected, continuous manner so that there is no pause between the in- and out-breaths. Simple, yet Powerful!

Many of us have unearthed the story of our childhoods and our lives. We know it intellectually, but how to really discharge the emotions stored in the wake of difficult experiences is a question that we are often stuck with. They remain stubbornly within us as our triggers, emotional reactivities and relationship attachment styles.

For others, with birth trauma or traumas gained in their preverbal years, it can seem impossible to find the story. Infants will often disassociate from intense, overpowering emotions and so one is left with no memories, no notion and still, no words. Just a lasting sense of anxiety, or feeling of displacement in life, or fearful of life and living without knowing why.

This kind of breath work allows a powerful yet regulated release of these energies and emotions from the system, freeing us up to be more of who we are and loosen the grip of our triggers and anxieties.

Maria will be returning to Ireland next year to host retreats. I can’t wait to re-experience her guidance and empowering presence. In the meantime, I will be getting familiar with CCB and I hope you will join me! I’ve gathered some resources below which I hope will be helpful to you.

The Choice To Love

RETURNING TO WHOLENESS.

New Thought Leader Teal Swan has a way of illuminating familiar spiritual topics from a whole new vantage point, as she did at our Positive Nights event in 2022.

According to Teal, humanity has come to a crossroads where we can choose to stay in the unawakened ego or step into the awakened ego. To stay in the unawakened ego is to choose separation, succumbing to the idea that who we are as individuals is fixed and separate from everything else.

“If you look at separation as it exists as a concept within source, it works very much like a cancer cell works within a body where it goes offline, it disconnects to the degree that it is following its own signals regardless of the impact on anything else in that system and humanity right now is behaving like that.”

The only alternative is to choose love, and in Teal’s definition, this means “to take the other person as part of one’s self, to no longer see the division.”

This practice also extends to recognising and integrating all the different parts of ourselves.

“You’re recognising the parts of self almost like you would recognise the others,” she explained.

We cannot fully love and be ourselves until we have regained intimacy with any aspect of self we pushed away.

“That means seeing it, hearing it, feeling it, and coming to understand it so as to see the value in it and ultimately integrating it back into your being so that you can exist as one whole,” she elaborated. To put this life-altering wisdom into practice and hear Teal’s updated take on humanity, join us for her full-day workshop taking place on Sunday, November 3rd, at the Talbot Hotel Stillorgan.

Cultivate the habit of soul

DISCOVER THE DIVINE

“When we devote no time to the inner life, we lose the habit of soul...When we begin to awaken to the light of soul, life takes on a new depth. The losses we have suffered, the delight & peace we have experienced, the beauty we have known, all belong together in a profound way...The light of our thought is always excavating our rich inheritance of darkness.”

(Divine Beauty, John O Donoghue)

If we are to truly share who we are with the world, it takes courage, confidence and conviction. It takes journeying inside and being true to what we experience in our depths. When it comes to the theme of this issue - Divine Consciousness - I would like to invite each one of you to think of a moment when you have experienced life from above and beyond yourself – what we might call ‘the Divine perspective’.

What did you experience? How did your life present itself to you in those moments?

Journey beyond the daily self

For those who find it hard to get beyond the daily grind of thoughts, duties and activities, I recommend yoga nidra. Lying down, you are guided so deeply inwards that you reach the place we might call the Divine Self, or luminous heart. From this place a profound light is cast on our lives and allows us, as John O’Donoghue says, “excavate” our dark gifts of pain and suffering. In this way we find meaning, purpose and a way forward. It is the gift of the Divine, should we chose to access it.

Reflections from Divine Consciousness

Below is an extract from my journal in 2011. I was living on the outskirts of Havana, Cuba, stuck there for 18months in bureaucratic tape. I was unable to work, study or do much at all. The lack of distraction was its own gift in hindsight. My thoughts turned inwards, the soul life took over, and I began to see my life in a whole new way, with a meaning that I could not have gathered from being busy within it but only from a Divine distance away.

“Our washing machine is an old Russian model. The water has to be added and drained out manually. Then, you have to guide the drained, dirty water with a mop to a little hole in the wall which leads out to the street drains. All the thing really does is rattle, shake and swish the clothing around in the same circular movement, over and over. It’s something akin to what my thoughts are doing much of the time.

More often than not though, I handwash. I take one piece of clothing at a time; stain by stain, I apply soap and friction with my hands. At the same time, out of doors and with no one around, I roam into

the past and turn thought by thought over in my mind, one by one.

Hurricane season arrived a few months ago now. We’ve had a tropical storm or two... As darkness falls, the scenes are awesome in the sky. Silent lightning bolts strike at the horizon, illuminating for an instant their own jagged trajectory through the heavens.

It’s in this way that my life story began to move inside me, as I wash and scrub repetitively. Like a lightening bolt, striking at my inner landscape, I see, for an instant, inside of my own life and the movements of Life itself moving inside of my life. I’m beginning to see a thread through all I’ve lived and it lights the way forward.”

Our Divine consciousness, as it appears to me, allows us to move out of the small confines of ‘me and my story’ and into a more expanded view of life where we see the possibilities of meaning, connection, contribution and awakening.

Embracing Health and Longevity

REWELL – THE NATURAL APPROACH.

About Me

My journey into the world of health and wellness began with two pivotal moments. The first occurred when I discovered two beautiful flowers in my grandmother’s garden—echinacea and St. John’s wort. My granny shared their functional and medicinal benefits, igniting a lifelong curiosity in natural remedies. The second moment came at age 15 when I attempted to play a hockey match after devouring three McDonald’s double cheeseburgers. The result was a lesson in the importance of nutrition—definitely not “bueno.”

Over the past 20 years, I’ve immersed myself in various health disciplines, including nutrition, cooking, yoga, gardening, biohacking, sports, and CrossFit. A previous job allowed me to travel the world, where I soaked up diverse health practices and philosophies.

The Birth of Rewell

In 2023, I founded Rewell in Naas, Kildare, after years of helping others improve their nutrition and lifestyle. My goal with Rewell is to help people reconnect with themselves and the planet. I believe in the power of nature, encouraging practices like grounding and growing

your own vegetables. As Rewell evolved, I began incorporating functional testing and technology to enhance these natural approaches. This optimum wellness concept, known as biohacking, merges ancestral wisdom with modern technology to optimize health and well-being.

Pursuing Longevity

My passion for wellness led me to develop a three-tiered longevity program aimed not just at increasing lifespan but at enhancing health span—ensuring people remain functional and independent as they age. Age is a fascinating concept. Today, we can

measure the pace of aging and determine our biological age versus our chronological age. By performing tests such as DNA analysis, epigenetics, GlycanAge, and bloodwork, we can gather precise data and create a hyper-personalized plan to reduce biological age and optimize a client’s life.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

One of the innovative therapies we offer at Rewell is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). This simple, safe, and non-invasive treatment places the body under pressure while breathing pure oxygen, naturally enhancing the body’s functions and recovery capacity. HBOT has gained popularity for improving various conditions, and we now offer monthly nationwide rentals. This allows people to experience the incredible benefits of HBOT from the comfort of their own homes at a fraction of the cost compared to clinic sessions.

At Rewell, we’re committed to helping you unlock your body’s full potential, embracing both the wisdom of the past and the innovations of the future to achieve optimal health and longevity.

The Final Game of Chess of this era is being Playing Out on the Chequerboard of Karma

What an incredible time to be alive on beautiful, planet Earth. What brave and resilient souls we all are to have chosen to be here right now. To witness the greatest show on earth and be here to play our part. The finale is about to commence as the players take their places to play the biggest game of chess that has ever been played on planet Earth’s Chequerboard of Karma.

2024 was the year chosen for all of Humanity’s Akashic Records to be revealed for all to see. That is, everything we have ever thought, said and done, as a collective human race over the passages of time, is all laid out on the world stage for us all to see, observe and ponder on. Everything that we are witnessing right now in the world is everything that we all have helped to create over many lifetimes here. The narcissism, greed, violence, war, anger, hate and complacency that we are witnessing, all of us, as souls have partaken in it all over many lifetimes; sometimes willingly, sometimes unwillingly. We have played both the victims and the persecutors.

In this lifetime we are not here to waste our precious energy on lamenting about what was and currently is nor to judge ourselves or others for the many crimes against our fellow man or planet Earth. We are here simply to make a choice

- the ultimate choice.

We are all here right now to choose to evolve, to choose a new game, a new story, a golden path to a new golden era on this planet. A pathway that serves all, rather than a select minority. A path with its foundations based on mutual love and respect. A path based on community and collaborative working for the collective good.

Many of us alive now are here clearing and balancing lifetimes of karma. Not just our own personal karma, but as the lightworkers on this planet we have chosen to be in service for the collective good and are clearing all family karma, humanitarian karma and karma connected to our country of birth. So, take a moment now and pay reverence to yourself for the incredible soul and mighty being of light that you are. Here to be a peace ambassador on this planet, returning heaven to earth.

During this time of monumental change it is of the upmost importance right now, that we all take responsibility for our own lives – our own bodies, minds and spirit and are very mindful as to what we are consuming and allowing ourselves to connect to each day. Be aware of the vibration of what you are

watching, listening to, eating, drinking, thinking, saying and feeling. Be aware of the company you are keeping. Who are you allowing yourself to connect to at home, at work and socially? It’s all about the vibration.

Stand now in your own sovereignty, your own Divinity, and fill yourself up each morning with your own light and emanate that light out around you. The stronger you stand in the light of your own vibration the more grounded and focused you will be. Your soul will feel safe to be in your body and not under a constant state of attack from outside sources or be at the mercy of other people’s agendas. You will be able to access your own higher self, your God self, and the highest levels of wisdom and discernment will be made available to you. You will be happier, healthier and feel freer than you have ever felt in your whole life. Miracles are available to us every day now it is simply a choice of whether we feel worthy to receive them.

ABSOLUTE HEALING WITH CAROL KENNY.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Carol Kenny recently. Carol works from her busy clinic in Tallaght, Dublin as well as her home in Edenderry, offering an astounding array of healing and spiritual techniques.

The way Carol speaks about energy, emotion and the body, I felt in the presence of someone deeply committed to and embedded on the healing path in a remarkably down-to-earth way.

Stepping into Healing

In 1992, two years after the death of her mother, Carol embarked on her healing therapies journey. Existential questions about life were thrown up in the wake of this grief and loss. Today, a lot of the work Carol does is with people experiencing grief, anxiety, PTSD and those seeking spiritual guidance, as well as a variety of other health issues.

In her clinic Carol can call upon any one or more of the healing modalities she has honed in the past 25 years;

Healing Pioneer

The Emotion Code and Body Code is one such emotional release therapy which Carol is adding to her toolbox and joining the pioneers who have brought it to Ireland. It is here to help people to let go of old, trapped emotional baggage. These emotions can go as far back as in utero, some may be inherited and others a result of trauma(s). No longer willing to let our emotional bodies be a festering ground for anger, fear, shame or heartache to name a few, this therapy offers a way to detect and release emotions which can be causing pain, emotional problems, panic attacks, phobias and a whole range of malfunction.

“It’s time now, for the people who do want to get rid of this stuff, to let it go,” says Carol.

Carol’s absolute love for what she does is palpable and her innate ability to mix and match from a whole array of therapies to meet the needs of her clients is an enormous asset.

“Carol’s absolute love for what she does is palpable...”

FREE YOUR FASCIA.

Focus on Fascia

As we become an ever more trauma aware and trauma informed society, there are people coming forward to share what they discovered on their own journeys of healing from trauma.

Trauma can happen at any time. What many of us are now realizing is that our childhoods, our pasts and even our yesterdays may be filled with traumatic events. This is part of life and living, yet so too is help and healing.

However, when trauma goes unnoticed, unacknowledged and untended, this is when our mental, emotional and physical health ultimately gets affected. If traumas happened early on in our lives, then the mentalemotional landscape we live in is the only one we know. Releasing this trauma and allowing new mental-emotionalphysical landscapes of thinking, feeling and movement can be a big undertaking. However, our body will always respond to our efforts and use all its inner resources to help us – and just as our bodies have great healing capacities, so too do our emotions and thoughts have their own ‘antibodies’ just waiting to be released; to soothe and mend.

Human Garage, founded by Garry Lineham, is one such group which is pioneering new ways to heal from trauma. Human garage has a distinctly physical approach, focusing in on movement patterns generated by trauma and see these as a root which can be used to create shift through the whole of the human being;

“To really heal from trauma, it’s essential that we also move our body... twisted bodies, twisted emotions, twisted thoughts and twisted perceptions.”

Human Garage began as a clinic in Venice, California and ran for ten years, initially treating individuals and eventually finding professional athletes, celebrities and other high profilers coming through its doors. After a decade of practice and discovery, they decided to close their doors and focus less on providing therapy to individuals and more on educating as many people as possible to maintain and improve their own health and well-being.

Garry and crew created a movement process in 2020 to free up movement patterns restricted by trauma and allow for new movement circuits to be created. They call this process “fascial manoeuvres”. According to Human Garage these are the “most powerful healing movements”.

Why Fascia?

Human Garage saw that trauma was held in the fascia which covers the human body. Fascia is a kind of webbing which covers every part of the body and is thus the interconnecting fibre which links every body part with every other part. It allows for the transmission of messages between the entire body and the brain:

“The human body is made up of fascia, and it’s the most perceptive and profound part of us… As we currently understand it, fascia is a multidimensional construct made up of connective tissue that holds both memory and emotion. It controls our movement patterns and carries a unique metaphysical signature. This substance picks up internal and external stimuli, and communicates that information to the brain to be processed… Fascia is the most powerful organ in the body. It holds the muscles, bones, organs and nervous system. When we reprogram the fascia the body transforms mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.”

Fascial manoeuvres for Free!

The beauty of the Human Garage is not only it’s innovation and drive towards healing discoveries, but the way in which it shares this information.

Human Garage hosts “wTransforming Trauma workshops” - large scale gathering hundreds of people which tap into the collective and communal power for change. They also, however, have a wealth of free resources as they are determined to remove the financial barriers to healing for those who have the will but not the financial way.

You’ll find an ‘upper body reset’, ‘lower body reset’, ‘organ reset’ and ‘fascial facial’ free on their website allowing you to discover fascial manoeuvres anytime, anywhere. There’s a blog, podcasts and free downloadable guides.

Trauma tool-kit

As those of us who have become aware of trauma operating in our bodies, minds and lives become motivated to heal, change and grow, we must seek out what we find uniquely helpful and healing on our own particular journey.

We sort and sift through information and offerings, trusting our inner knowing along the way. This too is part of the journey. We do this for ourselves, for those who have gone before us and those yet to come. Just as trauma and pain can be handed down through generations, so can healing and love.

Human garage wishes to “see a world where billions of people have the power to heal themselves and have taken back control of their health again.”

“Christ Consciousness is about opening to Life, Love and the Oneness that is there for all to receive…”

the meaning of the word christ

RETURNING TO THE SOURCE.

Jesus was a Near Eastern Jew. He spoke Aramaic. Aramaic was the lingua franca of Judea and Galilee and much of the Near East during that time and was widely used in daily life, among the Jewish population. Jesus was never referred to as Jesus Christ. He was called Jesus of Nazareth.

The original scrolls of the New Testament were written in Aramaic. They were later translated into Greek, then Latin and English.

The word “Christ” comes from the Greek word “Christos”, which was the translation of the original Hebrew/Aramaic word “M’sheeha”, meaning “to be anointed” or “enlightened”. In the context of the Aramaic language, “M’sheeha” also carries the connotation of living in light, often referring to a prophesied leader in Jewish tradition.

Thus, the original meaning of Jesus Christ is Jesus (Yeshua), the Anointed or Enlightened One. Understanding Christ Consciousness from an Aramaic perspective involves embodying the way he aligned to the Highest Frequencies of Anointing and Light available to him. Many mystics, teachers and leaders did this such as Buddha, Muhammad, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King.

From the bible, “I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me”: Philippines 4.13, means living through the anointing or blessings that give me the strength. It relates to each person living the anointing of love, forgiveness, and awakening. It means living a life that reflects multi-sensory ways of seeing and being.

This understanding goes beyond religions and demonstrates ways to align with the frequencies in the quantum field of love, compassion and justice, and is not only attributed to Christianity.

Growing up as a Roman Catholic meant Sunday mass and rosary every night. Upon leaving Ireland and working in the USA, I lived with born-again Christians. In both experiences, something inside me was not satisfied. It seemed I had to take what was taught without questioning anything. It resulted in my turning away from much to do with my Christian upbringing and not speaking words as God, Christ, Jesus and Bible.

Years later, I was introduced to the Aramaic Language that Jesus spoke. By studying the original words, the idioms

used, the psychology and the cultural setting of the Near Eastern people that Jesus grew up in, I began to understand the roots of Christianity before it got misunderstood by Western religious interpretations.

Jesus was a teacher of universality and inclusiveness. He related to each person from a place of equality with sentences such as, “The kingdom of God is in you”, meaning the intelligence of the Source of all life comes through your being. In fact, I was drinking of the spring waters of my Christian upbringing before it got polluted by Western religious dogmas and theologies.

It has become a freeing, healing and expanding experience to penetrate words such as God and Christ to find the pure, all-encompassing meanings of each of them. The Christ Consciousness is about the Life, Love and Oneness of Cosmic Intelligence that is there for all to receive and align to no matter what belief or non-belief you hold.

changing of the gods:

a shift in the collective consciousness
A NEW ERA BEGINS.

Pluto’s last entry into Aquarius, where it will stay for two decades, will be this November. Uranus will make an entry into Gemini, Neptune into Aries in 2025, and Saturn will also enter Aries in 2025.

We are currently witnessing a transitional tension before a big change. A significant shift will be noticeable next year and throughout 2026 and 2027. The last part of 2024 sets the tone for a new era to begin—an era that will impact the collective consciousness for years to come.

The outer planets’ simultaneous change of signs makes 2025 a pivotal year. Being the slowest, these planets mostly influence larger societal themes and trends.

Pluto and Uranus are moving from Earth to Air, Neptune and Saturn (not an outer planet) from Water to Fire. Air and Fire are softer on the psyche and the body than Earth and Water. However, Air and Fire are fast. Things will accelerate hugely, which is not necessarily the most grounded energy. Try to find stillness within you. Stay centered. You can develop a somatic practice, such as yoga, meditation, dance, walking in nature, or any physical activity that anchors you back into your body.

It doesn’t feel easy right now to navigate the tail end of Pluto in Capricorn. Over the last few years, we have witnessed old structures crumbling concerning institutions related to education, work, and financial systems, to name a few.

“We can expect huge scientific, technological, and medical advances, a global movement of people, and decentralisation of society.”

The traditional way doesn’t seem viable anymore. Pluto in Aquarius will soon ask us to move to a more diverse and fair society where groups of people can lead rather than authority figures holding power.

Uranus is finishing its seven-year journey in Taurus. Our awareness is being raised about earthy topics such as climate change and new values regarding resources, our health, and the health of our planet.

With both Pluto and Uranus in Air signs starting next year, we can anticipate how the new emerging structures will shape the collective. Air is connection, exchange, ideas, systems, and movement. We can expect huge scientific, technological, and medical advances, a global movement of people, and decentralisation of society. Breakthroughs in the speed of communication, space

travel, and virtual reality are anticipated. There has been a surge in AI in the last two years since Pluto started to visit Aquarius.

Skepticism about reality, truth, and misinformation is prevalent right now. These themes are linked to Saturn and Neptune, currently in Pisces and close to each other. Large groups of people are experiencing an increased awareness of manipulation paired with a feeling of loss of faith. However, in Pisces, there is also a desire to build a better world.

Neptune and Saturn will dramatically enter fiery Aries together in 2025. This highlights a tension between idealism and materialism and the need to balance skepticism with open-mindedness and possibilities. Aries represents beginnings, leadership, and pioneering. Can we anticipate a new beginning in Neptunian themes: better healing modalities, creative pursuits, spirituality, compassion, and an elevated form of beauty? I hope so.
