PGMAG: Please introduce yourself to our readers.

HLEAR: Hello, My name is Laila El Atfani Rahhal, well know in media as LAILA Rahhall born in Morocco but I live in Dubai, UAE now. I am working as an international speaker, coach, and global connector also Special Advisor to the President of the Arab African Council for Integration and Development, AACID, Director of International Relations, integration and Development of the Council. PGMAG: As a global influencer, how can we support more women to take on leadership positions?

HLEAR: As a woman, we need to encourage each other. That means, provide not only support but mentoring, and coaching each other. If I have a certain skillset that other women don’t have, I should be willing to provide training for them. My responsibility as a woman in leadership is to support other women. There should also be opportunities for women to lead Executive boards.

PGMAG: Wealth management is one of your areas of expertise. What are some of the steps to creating and managing a sustainable business in today’s economy?

HLEAR: My number one strategy is being flexible and having the ability to pivot. There will be times when things will change in your business. For example, when the pandemic hit, most businesses suffered or had to shut down. The businesses that survived were able to pivot and adjust to the change. Next, it would be understanding your marketing strategy and making sure you are providing value and a solution to customers.

PGMAG: As the Founder and President of Business Gate, how important is it for the youths to be carried along in the design of organizational growth strategies?

HLEAR: It’s highly important because the youth are our future; they are our next leaders. To make them successful, we need to mentor and coach them. Also, provide a seat at the table and encourage them to bring their ideas and creativity.

PGMAG: How can we collaboratively aid business recovery amidst the global challenge (covid-19)?

HLEAR: We can collaboratively aid business recovery by working together, referring each other’s business and hiring each other. Another option is to split the financial cost of an employee to help cut down on payroll cost. Also, if a CEO has office space, he or she can look at leasing space to another business owner. Again, combining resources to cut cost.

PGMAG: What is your message for the youths?

HLEAR:

My message for the youths is to be the best they can be. You don’t need to be perfect but give your best at whatever you do. As a youth, you should look for ways to be innovative because you are our future.

PGMAG: What would you say to your younger self?

HLEAR: I would tell my younger self to learn more, to invest and give more of my time in the community. I did provide support but I feel that you can always do more, so I am doing that today.

PGMAG: And finally, what are the lessons you learned from the global pandemic?

HLEAR: The lessons that I learned from the pandemic is patience and enjoy more family time. Another thing is the need to be prepared for crisis and ready to pivot. And also the use of learning and understanding the importance of technology.

PGMAG: Thank you so very much once again– I salute you.

HLEAR: Thank you for the opportunity and I appreciate your time.
