I am my competition. I am a woman on a mission to learn, love, live, explore, grow and make a difference in my field of purpose.

PGMAG: Thank you Lady Anita for this opportunity to learn more about your work as the Editor-In-Chief of Powerhouse Global Magazine. Lady Anita: Thank you Team for this opportunity. PGMAG: Please tell us a bit about yourself and your reason of setting up Powerhouse Global Lady Anita: All will be revealed in our fifth edition. However, I just want our readers to know that life is an adventure, as you make your way through the storms, steep hills and smooth roads, you will discover a better way of living. I am a risk taker and a possibility mentality individual. My mind works in a different way – I see a picture of what could be, and I work towards bringing it to a reality. then we have grown into a ‘Global Brand’. PGMAG: We know you to be someone who does not see failure as an option, working with you has also taught me not to give up too soon no matter how tough things might seem. How would you describe your style of leadership? Lady Anita: As a person who enjoys developing other people as well as grow in her own right; in the last ten years of my journey I have come to embrace the diversity ofour time, and this has enabled me to view each individual as a ‘special entity’. By this discovery I work with my gut instincts to identify the need of those whom I’m privileged to serve. In the nutshell, my leadership style has no ‘CAP’ because each person is differentfrom the other, and I lead as the need presents itself. PGMAG: Powerhouse Global is not just about the magazine, please share with us some of the other aspect of your brand. Lady Anita: Thank you for that question. Powerhouse Global has a couple of arms to it’s root. We have Powerhouse Global Network, Powerhouse Global Academy, Powerhouse Global Awards and our global

charity based in Nigeria, West Africa. We have some other brand products in the pipeline. I am an explorer of the endless possibilities life has to offer – we are only here for a period of time, one might as well make the best of it and live a positive mark. PGMAG: Tell us more about your charity. Lady Anita: Our global charity (Powerful Global Women Foundation) is registered in Nigeria, and we support
women and children from a less privileged background. In 2016, I single handedly feed 400 children, and since then we have held various projects to give hope to our service group. In March 2018 we held an empowerment conference for women in Lagos, Nigeria. We will be holding our ‘feed the children’ event on 4th of August 2018 followed by ‘back-to-school’ project in September 2018. The need is huge and I am doing my little

Yes! I started my journey of service at the tender age of ‘seven’. All will be revealed in our fifth edition. It’s fulfilling to put a smile on someone else’s face. I love to light the candles of others. It’s very rewarding to selflessly serve the interest of others without waiting for gratification. PGMAG: What is your message for the women who are yet to discover their purpose? Lady Anita: My message is simple; find what you love to do and work on it. This will bring you to where you desire to be. PGMAG: Wow! You are indeed a woman with great wisdom. Thank you for that because you have got me thinking about
myself. What should your readership be expecting in your publications? Lady Anita: It’s interesting you asked that question. PGMAG is focused on profiling ‘Global Difference Makers’. These are people who have been there, done it and won the cap not just the t-shirt. I believe that every achiever has a compelling story to share with the world. I am on that mission to finding and publishing such stories. We have drawn out our map for the next 2 years (2020), and we shall continue to explore other possible and better ways to delivering our publications. part to contribute in making lives better. I am grateful for the support of my mentor (Anthony C. Gruppo) and a few others who believe in my vision to touch lives one person at a time. PGMAG: I can see the passion of your work in your description of your charitable duties. Could you share with us what actually led to you doing more work in Africa Lady Anita: I am the last child of the seven surviving children of my parents. I grew up in Nigeria and I have tested poverty. It is not a good place to be - especially if you have a dream. Struggling my way through life as a child-labour.

he survived 5 cardiac arrest, Liver Haematoma, Bile leakage, Sepsis and Pulmonary Embolism (PE). Even her medical team marvelled at her survival. Seated right here with her doing this interview is one of the most appreciated opportunity for me as a human being. PGMAG: Wow! Thank you so much for the privileged interview with you Ada. Please tell us more about who you are and the journey you had made so far. Ada: I have lived a life of procrastination and not taking life seriously. I had often neglected my own need whilst focusing on dealing with others’ demand. This obviously affected my self-esteem greatly. I was not aware of the negative

vibration which played an active role on my daily personal behaviour. PGMAG: We have all been at our most vulnerable states at some point in our lives. Listening to your description of how you felt pro to your health breakdown, it makes me wonder about the difficult position some of us put ourselves into, and not even being conscious of such situation. So, what happened in December 2017? Ada: I cannot give a clear account of what happened on that faithful day in December 2017. I only woke up in January 2018. Scary isn’t it? It was actually my first time to miss Christmas and New Year in my entire life of existence. You hear stories of people going into ‘COMA’ and waking up

not knowing who there are anymore. PGMAG: You are a ‘miracle’. I have heard and read stories of people passing away from having 1 cardiac arrest, but you had 5 and survived. Please describe your experience with us. Ada: Being in a ‘COMA’ availed me the opportunity of ‘FREE TRAVEL’ in the other side of life. PGMAG: ‘The other side of life’
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
what does that mean? Ada: I saw myself flying from one country to another lying on my hospital bed. The sky was blue and beautiful. My bed was attached to an aeroplane, and it was so peaceful filled with a sense of freedom. PGMAG: What where you doing professionally before your health scare? Ada: I was into healthy cooking and total wellbeing. You could call it an ‘irony’. But I believe
God saved me from death and my lifestyle helped also. PGMAG: I learnt all your organs including your brain stopped working during the ordeal, and you were placed on a ‘LIFE SUPPORT MACHINE’ whilst in the hospital. Could you please touch light on this part of your journey? Ada: I was not aware of all the happenings during my scaring journey. What I remembered clearly was hearing the decisions that my medical team were considering on taking. However, I was told my family were called in a few times to say their ‘goodbyes’. Talking about it brings back so many emotions. I am truly grateful to God for giving me another chance to live and do the things I had always wanted to do. Speaking of being ‘lucky’; it was God’s mercy that kept me alive. When my brain stopped working – I was told medically it was enough evidence for my ‘LIFE SUPPORT MACHINE’ to be switched off. Thankfully they gave me more time before going ahead with their decision. In that little window of opportunity, my brain started giving signal of the return of ‘life’. They called me ‘a fighter’ because I refused to die. PGMAG: What were your fears during your journey to the other side of life?
August - September 2018

www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
Ada: Being alive is the greatest of all gifts. My departure from this world was eminent because I could hear everything that were been discussed around me, but I could not move my body to alert them of my awareness. Thank God for life. PGMAG: I have read stories about people who came out of ‘COMA’ with a new behavioural pattern. What have changed for you? Ada: I have realised that since my returned back to life, my focus has changed a great deal. I am more self-conscious of my own personal needs. Things that would normally border me no longer matters to me. Forgiveness has become a daily practice (both personally and
toward others). PGMAG: What would you suggest to those reading this interview? Ada: Hmmm! It’s a whole new world for me. I would want my readers to know that there’s hope on each new day. They should learn to put away negativity due to the advert effect on personal health. They should enjoy life to the fullest and get away from stress. My overall suggestion is: “USE YOUR GIFTS TO ILLUMINATE THE DARKNESS IN YOUR WORLD”. PGMAG: What is your biggest goal? Ada: My biggest goal is to get my story out to the world through various medium, and to
serve as a positive reflection. PGMAG: Thank you Ada for availing PGMazine the first global interview since coming back to life. It is a really great honour. Ada: Thank you listening and being a positive influence in the world. I also would love to thank my family for being there for me, and for helping with my healing process. PGMAG: We wish you a great success as you continue to touch lives positively through your story.

he first question you should ask yourself is: the best media outlet to connect with? Social Media is much more than just posting on social networking sites and asking people to buy your products. Rather; social media has to do with engaging people, listening to their responses, and communicating in the best possible manner. The first question is how will I obtain that task? Perhaps the fastest growing aspect of social media that is taking a viral effect is video marketing. Video marketing
is an incredible way to get your message across. People prefer to watch how-to videos as opposed to having to read instructions. It’s also a great way to interact with customers. This would be the first social media campaign to start Video Marketing can be used on your website, You-Tube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and many other social media avenues.
1. PLAN YOUR CAMPAIGN By developing a plan, you create a critical foundation for which the best of your social media efforts is based on. Your first step to creating a strategic plan for your social media operation is to answer the following questions: a. Do you know who your target audience is? b. How do you plan to talk to them? c. Do you know how your social media campaign ties into your traditional marketing plan? d. Do you know who is going to

staff your social media efforts? e. Do you know your social media business objectives? f. How will you measure your success?
2. POORLY TIMING SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS Do you know the time zones of your audience? Set your tweets, posts, comments according to the different time zonesナ This will make a difference of reaching all your audience if they are in the states, or overseas.
3. BREAKING SOCIAL MEDIA RULES OF ETIQUETTE Don’t start a social media campaign without having at least a basic understanding of
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
some of the rules. Here is a simple list I follow: a. START CONVERSATIONS by asking questions. Tapping into trends can be a great way to increase engagement among your social followers. b. DON’T FOLLOW SOMEONE ON TWITTER and then unfollow them when they follow you. The only reason you should follow a person or a brand is because you value the content he or she shares on their social media platforms. c. PROMOTE OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL AS YOUR OWN BRAND. For every personal social media mention you share, you should mention another person or business at least five times. When your self-promoter, make it a short
mention that focuses on the benefit for your readers. d. DON’T SPREAD YOURSELF TOO THIN. Focus on using four networks or fewer at a time. Otherwise, you might not have the time to consistently provide relevant content that engages users.
4. FAILING TO MEASURE SOCIAL MEDIA SUCCESS Although it might not be easy to measure something like a conversation, you are able to measure factors such as your total online community size, the number of mentions of your brand across the social web and all the traffic referred to your business website. The following tools can help you stay on top of these

important metrics: a. Sumall: What it measures: Conversation Rate, Amplification Rate b. Buffer: What it measures: Amplification Rate, Applause Rate, Economic Value c. Twazzup: What it measures: Conversation Rate, Applause Rate And lastly, don’t forget the platforms themselves! Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and many other popular social media platforms provide their users with insightful analytics that show how their content is spreading throughout the networks.

5. IGNORING YOUR COMPETITORS Knowing who your competitors are and what they are doing is just as important knowing everything about your own business. Please keep an eye on your competitors over social media icons, sign up as a fan and start watching their marketing process. It’s important to see what your fans are saying and use those reactions to improve your own business.
the less social media work, you’ll have to accomplish. If your content is good, then your readers will love to be your brand ambassadors and share your content with their email lists and social media followers. This is a great way to push your content and grow your brand quickly. Think about your social media marketing from a wider lens of expansion locally, nationally and globally. www.inversionsmm.com
6.SOCIAL MEDIA CAN HELP YOUR BUSINESS AND BRAND GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL a. Increase brand awareness b. Drive traffic to your website c. Improve perception of your brand d. Increase your Google ranking e. Provide insight into customer behavior f. Monitor your campaign’s impact with precision g. Create new business opportunities h. Provide an early warning about potential issues. i. Offer you a larger customer database Lastly, think about this too; the more time you spend working on creating excellent content,

3 WAVES OF WELLNESS MINA KAKAIYA
The 3 waves of wellness is an approach which enables individuals to begin to become aware, move and practice towards nurturing their true inner wellness or “inner me”.
Sharing my thoughts on wellness has been a personal life long journey in enabling myself and others to find their own inner wellness through mentoring, coaching and training. What has also been a great help was developing wellbeing programmes in the workplace and across health and social care and non-forprofit sectors of mental health, HIV and domestic violence. By bringing awareness to improve others personal mental wellness, I realised that our source of wellbeing is innate within us and it is fundamentally our true natural state of being, that is in a continual state of change and transformation. Wellness in essence is an emotional state of unconditional self-love and
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
appreciation that is eroded or lost and found again along our life journey. Our sense of who we are and our values, believes, attitudes and behaviours are moulded by our past experiences, family situation, culture, education and life experiences. Often our wellness then gets lost or what gets in the way of our wellness and happiness is pleasing and conforming to the wider cultural pressures and norms we begin to adhere to. Pandering to needs and wants of others hence neglecting our own. Experiences of loss or trauma in different areas of lives such as loved ones, health, money and purpose. We then try to find it again, and for many of us through developing unhelpful and negative thought patterns,
believes, fears and habits such as addictions, self-harm, lack of self-worth, low expectations and negative perceptions about self, others and the world around us. The 3 waves of wellness is an approach which enables individuals to begin to become aware, move and practice towards nurturing their true inner wellness or “inner me”. We are all born from water and our wellness journey is a personal one of self-discovery, which is unique to each one of us. Like the waves, our life experiences come in cycles of ebbs and flows, bringing crests of positive high waves and negative low crashing waves. Wellness like the waves is not fixed but flexible, forever dynamic, evolving and changing and to embrace all aspects

of our mind and body and by adopting an attitude of inner kindness and self-love. When I run my wellness sessions I ask the participants to describe what wellness and wellbeing means to them and what it feels like. The general responses are feelings of happiness energetic, and confident, joy, and content, having clarity, safety and security, loved, appreciated, kindness and satisfaction. When asked what un-wellness or poor well-being feels like, responses such as feeling of fear, anger, dissatisfaction, trapped, no choice, despair, not being good enough, failure, judgemental of self or others, blame, guilt, duty, responsibilities, not having enough or lack of, clarity, time, money, negative relationships or purpose. Like the waves, we come in or
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
out of wellness on a daily basis as we experience life and things that disrupt our wellness state. So wellness is about changing your inner experience from the external situation in the way we think and feel about the things and the quality of the thoughts we choose to pay attention to and focusing on doing more of what feels good to you with an attitude of self-appreciation.
The 3 waves to wellness The first wave of AwarenessNoticing your feelings and thoughts, about any given situation you are experiencing. What are the stories you are telling yourself about the situation? We often told not to show our emotions as it perceived as a sign of weakness and vulnerability. However, recognising the value of your feelings as your inner guidance systems is an indicator of
your level of wellness at that moment. It’s a bit like a radio and noticing which station and song are you creating, listening and paying attention too! Is it the tunes of wellness or tunes of un-wellness that you tuned into right now? Noticing what the stories you are telling yourself first thing in the morning and throughout the day. Our daily life experiences evoke certain negative and positive thoughts and feelings all the time and we all deal and respond emotionally differently to the same situation as we all hold differing opinions. For instance, I had been fearful of dogs and particularly Alsatians for many years as I was chased by one when I was a child. Then recently I came into an encounter with an Alsatian at a friend’s home over a few days celebrating a family wedding and this Alsatian was

so placid and friendly that my perceptions and fears around this breed of dog changed. So noticing how we label our past experiences and we have the ability to change and control our inner experiences of thoughts and feelings about the situation. The Greek philosopher Epictetus (55- 135AD) said….”It is not things in themselves which trouble us, but the opinions we have about these things”. We often treat our states of mind as absolute reality, when actually, we each react differently to the same events. If we question our thought processes, we can change the way we respond to the world around us so that we can have a better life. By noticing our own self-limiting thoughts and believes and recognising that our own personal attitudes and believes are your own and different from others which is often either blocking or enhancing our wellness at any given moment in time. The second wave of Allowingby choosing to challenge and change our current thoughts and believes and focusing on more about by caring the way we feel. Gently allowing ourselves to shift our attention to thoughts and moods from a place of dissatisfaction to satisfaction. Therefore, easing
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
off the pressure on yourself and doing more of what makes you feel better or good to you right now. Focusing away from what’s lacking or negative aspects of your current life and towards positive aspects of your life that can improve your mood and make you feel better. Have you noticed when you keep focusing on the negative things in your life they become bigger and bigger and vice versa when you focus on the more positive aspects of your life the better you begin to feel? After my redundancy, I decided to do Master in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) full time in one year. However, I did not anticipate the level of stress it would cause me and the reality of writing 3 essays in a 3 months deadline seemed very daunting to me at the time and then I started to feel increasingly worried and anxious and the panic set in with feelings of overwhelmed, fear, doubt. My old negative belief about myself crept in of not being clever enough and good enough and the fear of failure and I became tearful all the time and found it difficult to eat or sleep or focus. I was at a breaking point and then made a decision and talked myself into telling myself to let go and do the best I can and if I failed my essays I would drop out the
course as it was not the end of the world. At that moment of relaxing and easing the pressure from myself from my current reality and shifting my negative perceptions and believes from fear to hope and optimism, I passed my Masters with flying colours! My biggest learning lesson I received from doing my Master was realising that the impossible was possible! Ways to take yourself out of your own head: • Awareness of your inner mind chatter and noticing if it is helpful or unhelpful, you’re negative self-talk. • Practicing the process of quieting your mind through simple activities that help stop the momentum of the inner critical voice or from the unpleasant experience for a while, by having a nap, doing some relaxation, meditation or mindfulness practices on a regular basis. • Doing things the make you feel good, whether it’s pampering yourself, having a lying, baking, dancing, or listening to music and learning or taking up a new interest or hobby. • Taking care of your body by eating better, getting a good night sleep and exercise that you enjoy doing, whether it’s walking, cycling, swimming,

sports activities or going to a gym. • Connecting with people that uplift, support and inspire you. • Giving back and by doing things for others. Often random acts of kindness can make us feel better. • Having hope and optimism that things will improve and change and appreciation of the good things you have in your life right now. Living in the present moment enjoying the full experience. Often, we are in autopilot and so in our planning, worrying mode and so we fail to notice the wonderful things around such as the birds or trees, the sky, clouds and stars, or savour the flavours from the food we eat. The third wave of Awesomeness –is about unlocking and knowing your true “inner me” or awesomeness that has the limitless potential to create and the power to choose and change the course of your life and acknowledging your own ongoing journey of transformation is in constant seek of wellness that is forever changing and growing. It is also about truly accepting and being comfortable with who you are with an attitude of being kind to yourself and appreciating all aspects of yourselves. We are often our own biggest critic.
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
• So it about moving away from self-judgment and criticism of others. • Shifting towards feelings of worthiness and deserving and stop comparing ourselves to others. • Accepting that we are all unique with our own skills, talents, and abilities and are always evolving in our own ways. • Discovering and honouring what is important and matters to you by reconnecting with your passion and purpose, no matter how big or small. • Honouring my “inner me” by appreciating where you are right now with the attitude of inner kindness and self-love. LAW OF ATTRACTION MARLENE MORRIS
Starting up my own coaching business allows me the freedom and flexibility I desire to have more time to do the things I love. I am able to empower other business women to step into their greatness and take control of their lives. To focus on a purpose driven life will be challenging at first like everything else that we pursue in life. But the rewards are great in the end. I will be sharing with you how the law of attraction and your money mindset works together.
A But just because you’ve developed a negative money mindset, or negative thought patterns around money, doesn’t mean this is how you’ll always feel.
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
t the early stages of our businesses we struggle to attract the right clients to meet our financial goals. One of the top reasons I see keep coming up is the way we view money. It might be a childhood experience and our environment. I’ve always been a bit of a naysayer when it comes to the idea that how you think about money is an important, if not the most important, part of
business/personal finance. But after learning about the concept of a “money mindset,” I’ve realized that this is an integral part of the equation to lead a happy financial life. Your money mindset is the feelings and thoughts you subconsciously develop towards money from your life experiences. Because our thoughts often control our actions, developing a negative money mindset can create a barrier between you and business, financial, health and relationships. It can keep you in a place of stress and anxiety and it can keep you from achieving financial goals. But just because you’ve developed a negative money mindset, or negative thought patterns around money, doesn’t mean this is how you’ll always feel. You can shift your negative money thoughts to a positive, more productive mindset to attract your desired outcome.
1. Recognize selfsabotaging thoughts. Step one always seems to be the hardest, and this is no exception. Being self-aware enough to recognize any sabotaging thoughts is not easy, but without doing this you won’t be able to improve your mindset. Some examples of common self-sabotaging,
August - September 2018
20
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
negative thoughts are: I’ll never get out of debt I don’t make enough to save I’ll never be able to afford that I’ll never make as much as soand-so. Here’s is an example from Robert Kiyosaki (rich dad poor dad). One dad had a habit of saying, ‘I can’t afford it.’ The other dad forbade those words to be used. He insisted I ask, ‘How can I afford it?’ One is a statement, and the other is a question. One lets you off the hook, and the other forces you to think.”
2. Appreciate what you have. A popular Roy T. Bennett quote I took to heart is: “Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals. If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.” Being appreciative for what you have is the best way to start to shake your negative thoughts or selfsabotaging behaviours. We all have so much to be thankful for and while we may sometimes recognize this, when it comes to money and budgeting many of us tend to take a restrictive view that can bring us down.
3. Forgive yourself for past mistakes. We tend to be our own worst
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
critic and for many people, making a financial mistake is something that we hold onto forever. But holding on to that negativity and beating yourself up for mistakes you’ve made in the past can keep you from moving forward. Maybe you’ve made some bad choices, spent too much money, or landed yourself in a heap of debt. Give yourself the permission to forgive yourself and look at these mistakes as learning opportunities. Know that no one is perfect and remember that what matters most is how you move forward from that mistake. Forgiving yourselfwithout forgetting the mistakecan help you appreciate and really learn from past experiences. How to move forward? One of the first and most important principle is desire. That is, to take the time to really reflect on what you specifically desire, what you will do to reach that desire, and when you will reach it by. So, if you desire more money I suggests writing down exactly how much you desire, how you are going to get to that amount, and by when.
get there. The second thing is try not to do all the work by yourself. Everyone has been in a situation where they could use some help. Unfortunately, it can feel tough to ask for help. Recognize that it is healthy and smart to ask for help. The challenge for most business owners is how to make themselves comfortable financially. One of the things I do on my program is to help clients overcome their money barriers. Another thing I find most challenging for some business owners, is how to move from just money coming in and money going out. Verses having a profitability business. How many of us can honestly put our hands up to having these challenges? My recommendation for you is to get onto a coaching program to help you get to your desired financial outcome.
It’s a simple strategy, but most people don’t take the time to really reflect on their wants/ desires and create a plan to

MOMENTUM VS
ANTHONY C. GRUPPO
When we talk about an orientation team, we are referring to a group different from a personal board of directors.
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
What is the difference between MOMentum and momentum? One represents strength, leadership, devotion, courage, nurture, and selflessness –the other is simply momentum. MOMentum means more to me than momentum. Is it any wonder that the first three letters of momentum spell out mom? My mother was a leader. Not the kind with a feature in Forbes, but rather a feature in my everyday life. She led our family through the best and worst of times. She was the cornerstone of my orientation team. Every orientation team
needs MOMentum. My mother worked long hours in a garment mill sewing blouses. The days blended into each other. To this day, the constant humming of those machines floods my mind, reminding me of her sacrifices. One big sacrifice was not having the mental space she needed to think creatively. I was determined to be the kind of leader who would never let that happen to his employees. There is no expiration date for new ideas. A job like my mother’s forces us to tap into

our creativity. Tediousness does not allow for innovation. Create energy in your team and your team will create impact. Energy can be seen and heard. Share your successes with your colleagues and you will see how energized they become. The more you involve colleagues, the more creative they become.
MOMENTUM Colleagues will always look to outperform themselves. My mother was a woman whose life was built upon harnessing and creating energy and MOMentum. She was a blue collar worker, but she made a lasting impact as one of my mentors. When we talk about an orientation team, we are referring to a group different from a personal board of directors. Experiences have taught me that there is a need for leaders and teams to share a vision. An orientation team does exactly that. It shapes and aligns a common focus, mission, culture, and method of delivery. As my mother did for me, as a leader I work to instill confidence in my teams. We need to train our teams to take on more responsibilities without us. When we are
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
needed, we must make ourselves available. Our teams do not speak the same language. One speaks fluent finance, the other is a master in operations, and another is a social media genius. What do they all have in common? Our vision. They know our goals, and in their own ways, tackle them so we are free to move onwards with our company’s growth. When they are asked to present in large meetings they gain confidence and support from each other. The longer people work together, the less they share a vision. An orientation team is designed to learn and think as one unit. They will move and act in unison and can anticipate each other’s thoughts. When your orientation team starts to hire more support for their departments, that new hire will gain a new mentor with an established record of creative thinking. Their success will be duplicated and visible to others. Imagine how much quicker tasks and objectives can be accomplished when leaders and non-leaders are on the same wavelength. As a leader, the ability to gather intelligence is essential, real, and timely. An orientation team builds momentum. It also is a way for me to think back and remember
my mother, the leader of my first orientation team. If you were to list the members of your orientation team today, who would they be? Follow me on Twitter @Anthony C Gruppo. 7 STEPS TO LETTING GO OF PEOPLE AND THINGS THAT NO LONGER SERVE YOUR PURPOSE ANITA DUCKWORTH - BR ADSHAW
Often times we hold unto things and people for longer than necessary. Just because we have become familiar with such people or things, we become afraid to let go of them even if they are limiting our potential. This behaviour in turn prevents us from moving to a higher level of personal development and successes. Most times it requires a mental shift for the change we are looking for to take place. These things and people that we hold unto instead of letting go, becomes toxic to our system. I have discovered that the longer we hold unto such belief,
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
August - September 2018
24
the more desperate we become to save such relationship with things or people. We build a wall of defence filled with excuses telling ourselves reasons why we should hold unto them for much longer. We keeping telling ourselves that everything is ‘ok’ but on the contrary, it is ‘not ok’. This behaviour is often exhibited by women. In my little journey of life, I have experienced the ups and downs of life storms and challenges. In all of this, I have built a mindset of a ‘warrior’. Life has taught me to navigate my ship (thinking and action) towards what ‘serves me’ the most. I have experienced poverty, hate, bulling, rejection, relationship breakdown, death of loved ones, debt, homelessness, fear, lack, shame, discouragement and betrayal. In all of this, I refused to give up on my dream to do, have and become more. Some people reading this book might say: ‘Lady Anita you won’t understand’. Yes! I might not understand because our life experiences are different, and the way we each handle situations are totally and completely different. In saying that, you have to decide what works best for you at each point in time, and discover the best possible ways of dealing

with such situations. It’s very easy to ask someone to let go of people and things that no longer serve them. it is much harder to convince such individual to totally and completely rid themselves of such ‘baggage’. I call them baggage because anything holding you back from moving forward is a weight. They come in various forms and sizes. They come in form of people (love relationship, friendship,
colleague, business partners, family members etc). they also come in sizes (familiar territory, cars, houses, shoes, clothes, accessories, bank account, luxury, a place of comfort etc). you may have to identify the area of your life that is holding you back. “Let go of the past, but keep the lessons it taught you.”- Chiara Gizzi Here are some quick questions to guide you towards letting go:
August - September 2018
25
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
1. By holding unto this person, of what benefit is this act to me? 2. What is this person doing to my personal growth? 3. What is this person doing to my health? 4. What is this person doing to my finances? 5. What is this person doing to my Spiritual growth? 6. What is this person making me become? 7. By staying in this relationship, what would become of me in the next 1 year, 3 years and 5 years? The beauty of letting go of someone or things is the opportunity it creates for ‘the new’ to come into your life. Let’s look at the scenario of a closet filled with clothes, the more we take out those extras we no longer need, we create room for better styled and more trendy fashion into our closet. There is pain in selecting those clothes, shoes, bags and accessories we no longer need, but there comes a sense of freedom once we take those clothes out to the charity shop or give them away to those who need them. we discover space and clarity in the process. It even brings healing to our mind. In other words, the more we hold unto people and things that no longer serve us, the more we wrap ourselves
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
in unpleasantness. Just like we tell ourselves that we still need those clothes, which when we tell ourselves the truth, it becomes obvious that we don’t really need them. that is the same way we lie to ourselves in order to hang unto things and people because we are afraid to see them go. Now is the time for you to do the needful. Search your Soul and tell yourself the truth. That person who causes you more pain, that person who puts you down in front of others, that person who sees you as a burden rather than a blessing, that friend who only contact you when they need your help, those associates who only come to you when they want to pick your brain, that person who tolerate your presence instead of celebrating your brilliance, that person who rather give others the opportunity rather than pass them to you, that person who leaves you high and dry each time they come around you, that person who discourages you from pursuing your dream, that person who would rather take someone else to the party instead of you etc….the list is endless These people are all ‘destiny destroyers’. You need to detox yourself from such relationship. What do you do if you find
yourself in such situations? If you find yourself in the above-mentioned situations, you just have to go on the mission of ‘DE-CLUTTERING’. De-clutter your circle of influence and association. Yes! The same way we de-clutter our closet could be used to ride ourselves of people that no longer serve our purpose. The only difference is that you have to place them in the order of importance. Here are a few ways to declutter: 1. Limited association - unlike our clothes which we can give away without the hope of getting them back (we don’t really need them back), people are different. When we are able to place them in the order of importance, it becomes a lot easier to manage their effects on our emotion. You have to decide where to place each person in your board of importance. Once upon a time I was that girl who tried so hard to keep relationship with people who devalued her. I was once that girl who would travel over four hours to be with people who only tolerated my presence. I was once that girl who thought it was ok to be looked down upon by those who at that time thought to be better than me. I was once that girl who would
August - September 2018
26

make room to accommodate people who only need her for their own benefit. Now! I am that woman who thrust people out of her field of purpose, because they no longer serve her being, and without apologising for wanting to live her full potential. You too can! 2. Disassociation – yes! It’s a tough decision but it is the necessary one to make. When we remain in a toxic relationship, we hamper our personal and professional growth. When we stay with people who are constantly putting us down, we lose our self-confidence which in turn limit our productivity. When we keep holding unto people who walked away from our lives, we shut the doors for better people to come through. When we allow the pain of our past to determine our behaviour towards others, we hide our brilliance because of the fear of rejection. When we keep relationship with people who would rather be elsewhere than be with us, we hurt our Soul and deny our existence. We give our power away completely. 3. Repackage yourself – several times in my life I have had to repackage myself (my gifts,
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
talents, ability and my strength). Several times life had thrown stones at me, and I had to find the best possible ways to bounce back. The process of repackaging is a ‘self-discovery’ time. 4. Reposition – a few years ago I spoke at an event in Houston, Texas on this topic (Reposition for change). I later published an anthology book with a few incredible women from across the globe on this same title (Reposition for change). So, in order to see clearly and differently, you must reposition yourself. Often times when we are in relationships, we become blinded by our emotional attachment to such people. We become less motivated to keep being brilliant. We become complacent to our duty of love. Nothing anyone says about our toxic relationship matters, because we live in self-denial. Unless we break the siege that holds us in such relationship, we would end up broken on the long run. “One of the most courageous decision you would ever make, is to finally let go of what is hurting your heart and Soul.”- Brigitte Nicole 5. Invest in your personal and professional development – this is a never- ending journey if you must become relevant in
the world today and tomorrow. As a qualified life coach, my brilliance was discovered when I went on the personal development journey. The Coaching Academy UK was the place of my brilliance discovery. It was a personal choice to uncover what lies beneath my physical eyes, or what people say about me. I know there was more to life than what I already knew as at that time. This could be an uphill struggle if you do not have the right support. Many would discourage you not to invest in continual personal development due to the cost involved. “What doesn’t cost you much will matter less to you on the long run”. – Anita Duckworth-Bradshaw 6. Love yourself – yes! So many people out there are waiting for validation from others before they can be happy. “You cannot give what you don’t have.”- Anita Duckworth-Bradshaw If you are struggling to love yourself due to broken relationship, you must seek for extra support through a counsellor or coach. I understand that some people have deep psychological wounds which has completely messed up their will to love and be loved. The truth remains that, “Yesterday is a cancelled cheque.”- Anita DuckworthBradshaw

A wise person said: “You cannot build today with yesterday’s broken pieces. By filling up your space with guilt and regrets, you deny yourself the opportunity to give and to receive love. At the age of 19, my heart was first broken by my then fiancée who ended up marrying my proposed maid of honour. I shall tell this story at another opportunity. This event took place over 20 years ago, and I have grown into an inspiration for others because I never gave up on my definite resolute to be ‘brilliant’. I love without reservation because love is what makes all the difference in life. I have become a ‘global voice’ for so many others because I chose to love myself despite my setbacks. You too can start right now to heal the pain of the past WATCHOUT for my other book ‘HEALING FROM WITHIN’ coming out soon. 7. Share your success story with others – the world is waiting for you to show up. Don’t hide your brilliance. Find new people who are interested in hearing your story. As you share your experiences with others, you gain more inner strength, and you become an inspiration for others. That is the beautiful thing of going through life challenges. By

unning a property business which is profitable gives me income for my desired lifestyle, security in retirement and a legacy for my loved ones. The start can be a bit of a whirlwind mostly, overwhelming because, there’s a lot to learn. I believe in standing on the shoulder of giants, getting guidance from the experts mentoring and support from those whose footprints I can follow and avoid their mistakes. When looking for mentors beware of those that sell seminars and don’t actually own a property business.
Starting point Defining your goal Before you start investing in property, consider this – what are your objectives, goals and desires? From an investor’s point of view, you need to adopt a long-term strategy that focuses on achieving high levels of cash flow by maximising rental income. I recommend having clear twelve months goals and clarity on where you want to be in five to ten years’ time. Be realistic, you’re not going to become a multi-millionaire property investor in just a few months, Property isn’t a ‘get rich

quick’ business, it’s a ‘get very rich, over time’ business for sustainability and longevity.
What will it take? Clarity of vision and strategy, right mindset, access to finance, support and property knowledge.
Making the time It’s important that you’re under no illusions about the amount of time you’ll need to build a successful property business. What time you are willing to commit will drive whether you’re an active or passive investor. My understanding is that if you can’t or aren’t willing to commit at least 10 hours a week to

property investing, then you would be better suited as a passive investor.
Risk in Property to consider Like any other investment, there are still several risks one should consider and prepare for. To name but a few: • Property market crash • Interest rate rises • Rising costs • Poor demand Over medium to long term, fluctuation of interest rates is inevitable and so are costs of running your business.
How can you mitigate these risks? 1. Understanding the market from the onset will help avoid investing in locations or properties where tenant demand is low, voids are high and rental yields unattractive. 2. Conduct comprehensive market research to ensure properties are achieving as much rental income as possible 3. Analyse deals taking into account rising costs of mantainance, voids, and interest rates . 4. Don’t over-leverage, know your numbers at what point will your investment breakeven and how likely is that to happen?

Our business is built on appreciating assets that generate up to three times as much rental income as standard, single-tenancy rental properties. This has enabled us to mitigate the risks outlined above – even during the recent financial crisis, our properties were still making a profit when many other buy-to-let investors were making a loss There is never a bad time to invest – provided you do your due diligence and align your investment strategy with your circumstances and goals.

10 UNMISTAKABLE SIGNS YOU’RE TALKING LIKE A LEADER LEADERS TALK LIKE LEADERS There is a rhythm, a cadence and an unmistakable style of communicating that can instantly be recognized in effective leaders. It’s a way of communicating that mobilizes teams, that instills confidence and that clarifies directions.
Leaders talk like leaders. Like any language, the skill of talking like a leader can be learned, developed and mastered. As a starting point, here are 10 unmistakable signs that you’re talking like a leader… 1. The Language of Leadership Aims for Clarity Leaders don’t muddle their message by trying to use impressive sounding long words. Leaders are driven to ask not, “Was it impressive?” but “Was it clear?” 2. The Language of Leadership Paints a Compelling Picture Leaders describe a picture of a preferred future. And they do so using vivid, inspiring word pictures of where the journey is going.

3. The Language of Leadership is Concise Leaders are not ramblers. They get to the point. 4. The Language of Leadership is Passionate For leaders, tone is as important as content. They use their voice, their expression, and their body language to convey the authentic passion they feel. 5. The Language of Leadership is Emotionally Intelligent When leaders speak they keep their radar on full alert to the emotional dynamics in the room, and they adjust their words accordingly. 6. The Language of Leadership is Thoughtful The mark of a leader is the profound ability to speak wellreasoned words, versus off-thecuff opinions. 7. The Language of Leadership is Optimistic Leaders are not naïve, but they communicate hope. 8. The Language of Leadership is Truthful ‘nuff said. 9. The Language of Leadership is Respectful Leadership language does not dominate a conversation; it makes sure all of the other voices are heard. 10. The Language of

Leadership is Action-Oriented Leaders don’t merely talk about a subject. They use their words to move people towards action. Take the time to study the communication skills of great leaders. Watch and listen for how they deliver their message in a way that is compelling, clear, respectful, and so on. Discern how they apply these principles into their communication. And then be purposeful in incorporating these principles into your own communication. Because the mark of great leadership is not only found in what you say, but in how you say it. hank you Lara for honouring us with this great privilege to learn about your journey, and the difference you are making in the world. • Please tell us a little bit about Lara Khalaf. Who is she and what is she about in the world? “work”, “determination” and “Love” are the 3 main qualities that most defined my career and life accomplishments. I migrated twice, from Syria to Spain at the age of 14/15, and from Spain to the UK in my mid twenties. My leadership career commenced at the age of 16 when my father would leave me to supervise his business during my school holidays in Madrid... I then started acquiring important leadership skills and most valuable experience on how to run businesses. I hold a degree in Semitic literature, however I have dedicated my life to serve clients and lead teams hence having more than 20 years of international experience in progressive leadership roles and managing large team operations across organizations in the private, corporate and public sectors. I feel privileged I have met and served international people from the highest orders.
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
The past 10 years were spent in London launching and developing business , and leading large teams with top clients from various industries and sectors. A few years ago I left team leadership and I now dedicate my time to professionally coach, and train women entrepreneurs and corporate to support them in becoming EXTRAORDINARY, CONFIDENT & CONSCIOUS people leaders. That’s the reason I created “She Leads”, a 3-months leadership development program to support either the business woman; the newly appointed manager or the lady about to go/come back from maternity leave. I collect Barbie dolls; I love discovering with my camera the latest pieces of street art and I adore spending entire afternoons being with my mother. *Going with our recent findings, we are amazed at your accomplishments so far, and as
by saying that a leader without a team is a nobody. I have had the privilege of supporting and leading competent and professional teams, without them I could not have managed to discharge my duties. Recruiting talent is key in business. From a practical point of view, I had to master the art of people leadership and task management. Leading others requires a different skillset to leading yourself. Leadership is not about us but it starts with us. As I always say, people leadership is a serious responsibility and it is not for everybody. I also showed up loving and caring about the team and thriving to do my best. I am very attracted to beauty, in and outside, I need it on a daily basis, in art, books, thoughts, fashion, conversations, my surroundings, flowers, aesthetics, etc… it allows me to feel, create, dream, learn, relax, be inspired, love, think, work… If a person, a situation or a project is not “attractive”, I won’t go ahead.

The journey started the moment I raised my hand when asked the question “who would like to be TEDx speaker” at a training course I attended. I was born in Syria and whenever I meet people, I also meet sympathy, empathy, care but some get confused because this is not how tragedy looks like. So I decided to talk about “The other side of Syria”. I had two messages to share. The first one is that Syria is more than a war and that people from Syria are more than that; the second important point is to inspire refugees and non-refugees to go and become the person they wish to be… because I believe sometimes we think there is no light at the end of the tunnel… but how about if we go and lit it ourselves? Before the TEDx there were a few challenges I had to deal with. 1) Preparation was intense and had to combine it with other projects and work 2) it didn’t take me confidence to stand on stage it took courage 3) I also had to deal with my little voice, sometimes an army of voices, telling me I might not be loved and that I was not good enough; Rather than allowing fear to take over I played with it. 4) Finally, I also had to learn how to deal with haters specially being a people

My toughest decision was always when we had to let go of people, I have been involved in complicated situations on this matter; this for me is an unpleasant part of being a people leader, that’s why it’s important to be conscious and responsible with our decisions as they might impact people’s lives. *Who are your Role models? My mother is also my role model, she is the most beautiful woman I have ever met, who installed the importance of high standards, who taught me to be independent and make my own decisions. ideal destinations… Shopping in NYC, safari in Tanzania, glacier walking in Iceland, going inside the pyramids in Egypt or visiting the Taj Mahal… However I am yet to live the experience of seeing the northern lights, meet Gorillas and visit active volcanos. I love participating in adventures and strong experiences and I hope to continue having the physical energy for a long time to come to experience many more. *What would you say to women who are yet to discover their purpose in life? When I was employed I made myself fall in love with my jobs, and if it didn’t feel right, I moved. This worked for me, I had unbelievably great experiences in business and I ceased opportunities that came my way. In those days, I didn’t know the meaning of the word “purpose”. It wasn’t until I became more conscious, thought better thoughts, had coaches who challenged me and asked me great questions and connected to my spirituality that I found my purpose, I then decided for the first time to take control and become the person I am today. If you haven’t discovered your purpose, I would say it’s ok. In
the self-development business we are often bombarded with the concepts of finding our “purpose” and discovering our “ why”… I have met people stressed and overwhelmed for not knowing what their purpose in life is, and in my opinion, this feeling is a blocker to potentially discovering it. Instead, why don’t you make the decision to enjoy what you do, regardless of what you do. If it really dissatisfies you, change it. Work on being a better human being, be curious, travel, surround yourself with inspiring people, serve from the heart, let go and truly be present in your actions and interactions… until you find “your purpose” live your life “on purpose”. *Congratulations on your new joint venture (Woman 5.0). Please tell us more about this new adventure. I am very excited about the new joint venture Woman 5.0. and privileged to partner with 2 unbelievably conscious, purpose driven and successful leaders, Gema Ramirez and Lynda Cormier-Hanser. For us WOMAN 5.0 is an empowered and conscious woman. The woman of the new world. We believe in the concepts of “Beauty”, “Peace” and

“Possibility” that will lead to conscious and extraordinary leadership in ours lives, communities and business. These concepts are underpinned by Love. With this movement we aim to inspire all to be great. We are bringing our skills, resources, wisdom and expertise together to launch our first all day event for the Spanish speaking community on the 22nd of September in San Diego, California. Where we will teach deep life and business lessons as well as practical leadership principals to become the Woman 5.0.

• What is your biggest challenge in life? My biggest challenge is my mother being diagnosed with Alzheimers. I am suffering because of it and I can’t hide it. I changed my lifestyle and I now live between London and Madrid. I fear nothing in life except the day she won’t recognize who I am…. Until then I need to be grateful she is alive and still doing good despite the disease… it is a great honour for me to serve her whenever possible. Despite all this, there has been some positives outcomes from this situation like being more focused on what’s important, it has made me a better daughter and human, more caring, patient and it has also helped me to be more present in the moment… And ultimately who can guarantee that tomorrow

GOOD LEADERSHIP IS BEING SOUL INSPIRED Business today with its ever-increasing focus on profit margins, budgets, and other performance data has mostly lost connection with its most important asset – its people. Simply put – it lost its soul.
T
his is reflected in low employee engagement figures globally. It is time to refocus on giving people a greater sense of purpose in their roles. Therefore, leaders themselves must learn to reconnect and listen to their inner world, their heart, their soul. Once leaders move beyond the perspective of mere performance, once employees feel they are seen, heard and acknowledged and they matter as a human being, engagement figures will rise again. To achieve that, leaders are reliant on employees who identify with the mission and the vision of their company. They need to feel connected at work and have a sense of purpose. Establishing a climate of such quality depends very much on the ability of the leaders to lead from within and be true to themselves in their approach to their people. Leaders of today bring back empathy and heart into their leadership, they are

aware of their own strengths, limitations and internal world. They are at ease showing their real self in any aspect of their life, which builds trust and reliability in the relationships with their people. It comes from being balanced and consistent, no matter what the situation is at hand. It is the ability to keep people focused on the journey that lies ahead; to encourage and support them to overcome personal and work-related challenges. Good leadership is based on balanced, reliable and measured leadership behavior. Knowing what these behaviours are is easily found. There are numerous lists of desired leadership behaviors published. You need to only spend a few minutes online to uncover all the desired leadership behaviours you want. Insert of desired leadership behaviours. That’s at least the first step covered provided you recognize that you need help to improve your leadership skills. Recognising the impact of your behaviours is quite often the problem. I have coached many people where I have seen people is this category. They either are just plain oblivious to the impact of their behaviour or they have been influenced and learnt simply the wrong ones. For example, I learnt from my

father you need to maintain control to show your authority. Or maybe their first job was in a toxic culture and that is what it taught them. I have coached people who were influenced this way. “My leadership was strong in my eyes and no one had told me otherwise” was a comment I received recently. That was of course until the client decided to complete a formal 360 feedback program due to the staff turnover and complaints about this executive. He literally had no idea of the impact on his behaviours. Hence the need for the
coaching. Feedback is the gift these managers need, to be considered leaders. Feedback the gift that keeps giving insert Constructive feedback is one thing, it then behoves us to display some humility and take the feedback on board and actually do something about it. This is when you need the motivation to drive your discipline to continually do the things that good leaders do. Its comes down to making two decisions, firstly, do I really want to be leading people. Is it what I want, not what others want of me. You need to connect with your innerself, you soul, to honestly answer this question. People who answer yes to this are okay to deal with the ambiguities that people present. There is no black and white when it comes to people. It’s all about

managing the grey. Secondly, the questions you may ask yourself is “what leadership legacy do I want to leave?” or “when people talk about me once I have left, what do I want them to be saying” Here again, connecting with your soul helps the clarity in determining the leader you truly want to be. It helps you clearly see what type of leader you want to be. When you honestly do this exercise, it becomes the driver for you to be a better leader. It gives you that sense of inner purpose that fuels your motivation to continually do the things that good leaders do. I have witnessed this many times. It’s easier said than done of course. The key is to keep reminding yourself of you purpose and legacy and to be relentless despite outside influences that are there to test you. Its takes bravery to maintain the ‘rage’.
behaviours is the balance between the complimentary ones. Not necessarily a 50/50 split but still reasonably close in application, depending on the situation. You need to be: • quite confident in your opinions, but at the same time open and to the ideas and thoughts of others • direct and say what needs to be said, but at the same time be constructive by saying it in a diplomatic way • organized in what you do, but at the same time remain flexible • persistent in what you attempt, but the same time be willing to experiment • able to drive yourself, but at the same time you need to be able to relax and
meditate • prepared to take business risks, but at the same time analyse what could go wrong • able to hold people accountable, but at the same time show empathy towards their issues • responsible and make you own decisions, but at same time but will to collaborate • optimistic, but at the same time being able to see the darker side of the future • You must have confidence about your own ability, but at the same time always willing will too improve You also need: • to think of yourself, but at the same time think of others • the ability to analyse things

when making decisions, but at the same being prepared to use your intuition • With reference to Harrison Assessments Int’l Limited.
The value of constructive feedback All good leaders I have known seek feedback. It’s the best gift you can receive for your leadership growth. So, the key is to seek it, don’t wait for it to be given. FOOTNOTE: its smart organisations that have mandatory feedback sessions and 360s on their leaders. It just makes sense. I often do hear though, people who say that they would like to receive some constructive feedback but what we need to ask is: “Am I equipped at all to hear it?” The positive comments are most certainly appreciated. It’s the constructive feedback that people often have difficulty dealing with. There is no doubt however, that some of our inability to handle it can be blamed on the poor skills of the people giving it. Whilst we are not going to discuss here the art of giving constructive feedback, an important skill for all leader to have, we are going to look at some hints to receive it.
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
The thing you need to do first, is to listen to it. That might sound obvious, but a lot of people just don’t listen. They are too busy thinking of a reply, which is quite often their defence argument, then to listen properly. So then, please don’t think about what you’re going to say in reply, just listen. Another hint is to be conscious of the body language of the giver. It can often be what they don’t say, is where the critical message lies. More hints to remember, ask for it to be specific and pinpointed. Don’t take it personally or argue. Seek it from many different sources and always thank the person who has given it. Lastly don’t seek feedback just the once, practice it and make it a habit to ask.

Personal Development
P
ersonal Development is Imperative to your professional success. There comes a time when you must sit still and get in tune with your star player- Yourself. I wanted to send some motivation to uplift and motivate women to learn the power of becoming the best version of yourself. It is imperative to constantly pour into yourself to start embracing the woman you are purposed to be. All of us experience that season of uncertainty and the season of the unknown. If you discover that you are in that season- it’s probably because you aren’t living in your purpose. If you are in that season it’s okay to put the brakes on everything and get in tune with ‘yourself’. Investing in yourself is one of the best returns on investments you can do for yourself. Whether you invest in a counselor, life coach, take on a hobby, or get quite to start figuring out what’s next- you must just press- PAUSE. You need to understand that you must

give to yourself first before you can give to others. Your talents, your gifts, and your well being is your responsibility; therefore, you must take the time to develop it. The more healthy and confident you are in your own abilities the better you can serve on boards, in church, at work or anything that you do that requires you serving others. There’s a message that you give others when you learn it’s okay to be selfish with your time and invest in yourself. The message is: Self-love- For me to pour into people I first must give (myself) the energy, respect, space, and time to grow and create the results I need to be the best me. Here are 10 tips to invest in your personal growth to help enhance yourself to embrace your professional goals.
Patricia’s 10 Tips: 1. Set goals and realistic Deadlines for yourself. Setting realistic goals and deadline for yourself is crucial to your success. Like the old saying goes, if you aren’t planning to set goals then it is just a wish. Carve out time to make sure you are making strides to accomplish your goals and give yourself measurable deadlines. Be sure to also set some time frames in which to meet them.

I always tell my children no one has the same life and you know your situation. Your goals should be SMART goals -Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely. 2. Be obedient and Honor your intuition. You know your situation better than anyone else; therefore, you know what it takes to get there. Be DISCIPLINE. I always tell my children no one has the same life and you know your situation. Stick to your plan and what you need to do to get there. Listening to your intuition, will allow you to make better decisions. Watch when you are in the phase of figuring

In discovering and learning yourself you must align yourself with great energy that will reflect the results you are seeking. 3. Invest time in your gifts and craft. Spend time learning your craft. Take courses if you need to, watch you tube videos, spend time in getting acclimated to your giftings and crafts. This is a major part of your success- spend time in becoming an expert. Become a student in and learn everything there is to know about your gifts and craft. 4. Invest in building your selfworth. People who know their value know when to say yes or no. Take advantage of opportunities to network with like-minded individuals that share your passions. 7. Take care of your health. Health and Fitness is the area lots of individuals struggle in including me. However, this is the source of energy. Just like anything else what we put into our bodies is what we get out. until you discover what you are purposed to do. Also, realign yourself if you see a lot of things that don’t fit in the vision you have for yourself. 10. Invest in a mentor, coach or counselor. A coach or counselor can be costly and if it is not in your budget seek out a mentor for yourself. These individuals can assist you in aligning your goal and holding you accountable to reaching them. rom the heart of Africa to the cosmopolitan cities of Asia, Europe and the Americas. What could inspire women around the world to continue to be the forces behind nations? Women are the essence of life. We are the ones, who, like Mother Earth, are giving birth, nurturing, nourishing with our love for our children. We are the teachers that are enabling the seed of creativity in mankind. We are doing it every day at a small or bigger scale, helping to make this world a better place. We are the fighters that will walk on water to save our children. We are the peaceful and gentle souls that provides the comfort we all need.

We are the sparks that will trigger a revolution, we have been able to make our voices heard. Women around the world have changed their ways to help their families. From small villages in Africa they have shared their gifts of creativity that help them to support their families becoming a force respected by everyone in their villages. level. Teaching other women to do the same, creating a better future for themselves and the next generation. Showing them the way, breaking the ground for others to succeed, changing tradition to incorporate women as an essential part of the cycle of life. They are the true pioneers; millions of women are doing it without being acknowledged. We need to praise all those beautiful Goddesses that are quietly changing our world. Most of those women have humble beginnings. Even though we will never know who they are, those Goddesses are sending invisible sparks that keep on giving. Without them we would not be able to foresee a better world. They

proven to be the most powerful foundation for the family. Each one of you have brought so much and continue to inspire the next generation, you have shown us the way. With your tears, your resilience you have continually pushed us beyond our limits. You have lead the way toward a better world. As centuries have passed we are carrying you deep in our genes. We are the result of your wildest hopes and dreams. Deep in the bush of Africa, the outback in Australia or in the middle of the concrete cities, women have persevered to improve their lives to become more educated. Giving an opportunity to their daughters to have a better life. We are your legacy, as I am humbly bowing down to salute you, I thank you all for your sacrifices. Your stories are being told through us and we proudly carrying the flames. Both of my Grandmothers had sacrificed their lives. One walked across a country in war to keep her family safe. My other Grandmother was captured and tortured because she was helping people crossing the border to safety. Those two ladies had no education. But their courage and inspiration were passed on from one generation to the next. As my mother did not had the
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
privilege to pursue a higher education she inspired us to have one. All three women did not have an easy journey it was full of obstacles. But the fire in them was passed on to us. It brought me where I am today. I have moved mountains and walk on fire since I was born, with the help of my gifts as a psychic I have changed the course of my life. I have learned an important lesson, it doesn’t matter where you were born, you can archive what you imagine. I am a living and breathing testimony, so are millions of women around the world. I did not have a teacher or a master to guide me along my journey as a child. I had to utilized what I knew deep in my core. By opening my heart chakra, I started to communicate with the Universe. It wasn’t an easy journey to begin with but with the wisdom of the Universe I started to help individuals when they were at a crossroad in their lives while I was growing in my own life. The Universe started to provide me with information I needed to help my gifts to continue to grow. Something I always had was my imagination, I realized quickly how powerful it was. Your imagination is a powerful tool that has not been utilized
to the fullest. By letting your imagination run free you are unleashing your alchemist side. You are now starting to co-create with the Universe. I would like to share a 3 minutes exercise to let your imagination run free that will boost your fire. I have two different ways to do these exercises, read both then choose the one that fits you the best. You do not have to do both. Have a timer ready, I use my phone to do that. You can do these exercises in the morning or at night just before going to bed.
Exercise 1: I Am Grateful Sit comfortably on a chair without any distractions. Look at the room then close your eyes. Start your clock then proceed to speak the following: I am grateful for” fill in the blanks” For example you can say I am grateful I am healthy I am grateful all my bills are paid I have plenty of money to spare and share I am grateful for my new job, It is the prefect job for me I am grateful my business is successful *3minutes are extremely short. Just do not overthink, just let

your spirit guide you.
Exercise 2: I Have This time have a pen and notebook You are going to write these down letting your spirit guide you. I have “fill in the blank For example: I have a successful business I have a wonderful mate I have a healthy living I have a new job that pays extremely well *List everything that comes to you, again 3 minutes is short. When you are done with it read it out loud. You are sending a message to the Universe this is what you would like to experience.
www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
Do these every day, it takes just 3 minutes to focus on what you would like to do. The Universe will take notice of your list and act upon it. You may be surprised what could come to your door. Always speak or write in present tense, as you are writing or saying the words. Imagine you have them. What do I mean by that? You got your wishes granted, it has materialized, you are happy, grateful for it. You are showing the Universe it has happened by impressing your subconscious. By doing these exercises every day you are boosting your fire and accelerating the process to
turbo charge your desire into reality. The Universe will start to make it happen.
Creating your own vision board I have created my own vision board it is currently in my kitchen. How do you do that? Even if you are not artistic you can create a board, neither do you need to spend a lot of money to make it. You can use a simple piece of paper, list your wishes like: - A new job where I can utilize my skills - vacations in a warm place - A new or used car that is an all-wheel drive - Meet the mate that loves me for who I am - start my own business - buy a new house

www.powerhouseglobalmag.com
You can add pictures to help you visualize. The internet is a great source to find what you are looking for. Like a picture of a house, a car or a sunny beach, print them off. When you have gathered everything to create your board you need a few things. Tape or glue and for the backdrop you need a sturdy piece of paper. You can buy it, or you could use regular paper. The last, but most important step is location, location, location. Yes, you need the prime location in your home. Why is that so important, because you need to see the board every day. If you leave it in the closet or pantry you are not going to look at it. You can post it in your kitchen, bedroom, office if you have one, or even in your bathroom. If you are using your kitchen for example, you do not need a backdrop paper. Your refrigerator will be the backdrop, you can use magnets to hold the pictures and your list. You can also use the cupboards to place the pictures and your list. Take the time every day to spend a couple of minutes reading your list and look at the pictures. It will help your subconscious mind be

impressed. During the year, as you are completing your list, you can cross each of the items on the list off when they come to fruition. I have been using those tools all my life instinctively. Women around the world without realizing it have been doing the same thing. We can continue to inspire each other by sharing our experiences with the next generation. Teaching them nothing is impossible when you let your imagination be free. The Universe in its infinite wisdom by the way of perfect synchronicity like a magician will make it happened. The Universe is proud of each one of you whom are quietly changing the world.

POWERFUL GLOBAL WOMEN FOUNDATION
‘FEED-THE-CHILDREN’ PROJECT
‘BACK-TO-SCHOOL’ PROJECT
(AUGUST 2018)
(SEPTEMBER 2018)
Powerful Global Women Foundation (Powerhouse Charity) was founded in 20l6 in Nigeria, West Africa, by Lady Anita Duckworth-Bradshaw. The core objective of this organization is to transform the lives of women and children, through various projects centred around the need of the service group. In 20l6 Lady Anita single handedly feed over 400 children as part of “project feed l000 children globally”, and held an empowerment conference for the women.
