Connie Henriquez Kimmel
Connie Henriquez Kimmel is obsessed with applying super-easy ways to Start Loving Life® in bigger and better ways every single day. A former beauty executive turned life coach, she created and founded Start Loving Life®, which teaches clients to embrace a positive mindset and lifestyle, based on her own personal journey to self-discovery and happiness. After achieving tremendous success in the cosmetics industry, Connie realized something was missing: herself. She never learned how to love herself, or life, regardless of all her financial accomplishments. She didn’t even know that loving herself was a thing.
Today, Connie teaches adults, teens, and kids how to embrace and adopt the philosophy and lifestyle that she created, which changed her life. She discovered how to be happier, more confident, and how to love life, all by changing the way she thought. Connie transitioned her career from selling beauty to teaching the mindset that beauty begins from within when you learn how to love yourself first.
Connie’s lifestyle brand, Start Loving Life®, includes a proven positive psychology coaching system. She authored a self-help book for lawyers written with her husband, attorney Jeff Kimmel. Her new book, “Start Loving Life,” explores the core principles behind her groundbreaking philosophy and will be released this spring, followed by online digital courses.
Connie is an entrepreneur, content creator, TV host, teacher, and lover of life. Always learning new ways to enjoy life in a bigger and better way, she loves the color pink, her lawyer husband, Jeff Kimmel, their chihuahua Pumkin, and their four rescue kittens, Soxy, Spanxy, Bowie, and Chlohe.
When she’s not working with her clients, or on her next business venture, you can catch Connie hosting her own television show, “Start Loving Life® with Connie,” a spin-off of her previous weekly talk show, Date Night with Connie & Chrissy. Connie’s mission is to teach the world how to Start Loving Life®, one positive thought at a time.
Life Coach Start Loving Life
Are there any simple solutions readers can do on their own to help them make positive changes in their lives?
Become more aware of the biggest offender in your life: your self-talk. Most people don’t realize that their inner dialogue is mean. Half the things you say to yourself you wouldn’t say to your worst enemy, but you say them to yourself every single day. Imagine what that does to your self-esteem. It’s horrible, and yet we all do it. That’s why the awareness factor is so big. It’s about self-love, which is all about shifting your negative self-talk to positive. What is the most challenging part of your job?
The most challenging part of my job is the time I have to work one-on-one with the people who want to enroll in my programs. There aren’t enough hours in the day. The benefit of my programs is that they have completion dates, which allows me to reach more clients on a monthly basis, which I love. I have a very busy rotation rate of new clients, without the need for traditional marketing or advertising. But there’s a limit to how many people I can see in a given month. That is why I am so excited about my new book. Most life coaches want to grow their coaching business. My mission is to really just spread and teach my philosophy on a larger scale. I don’t want someone to need to work with me in order to gain the benefit of living the Start Loving Life® lifestyle. Anyone can live it.

It seems like so much more emphasis has been placed on brows in the last five years than ever before. Why do you think that is?
Eyebrows are literally the single most underestimated feature on the face. The correct shape can take ten years, or even ten pounds off a person’s face. I’ve been telling people this for 25 years, and now there are brow salons around the globe globally. Once you experience a good brow, you never want to go back to a bad brow. I believe this because there are more options out there now to experience a “good brow,” and this makes the industry continue to grow.
What makes the Damōne Roberts brand so popular among Hollywood celebrities? Celebrities are always under a microscope. People zoom in on their images and literally try to find things to criticize. Brows are something that when shaped correctly, can still make you look done, even if you’re wearing no makeup and going to get gas. I also treat my celebrities exactly like I treat everyone else - with respect, and they treat me the same way. I’ve learned that you get what you give.
How do you determine what type of brow is best for each individual client?
I’ve never believed in stencils. You can’t create a few shapes and throw them to the masses. A few basic techniques that I teach my staff and students are the following: if a person has a round face, add more of an arch to add more length. If the face is long, create a straighter brow to shorten the face. If a person has a square face, you give them rounder arches to balance the other features. If oval, the shape is a combination of all the above. There’s a method to our madness.
What is trending for brows in 2023?
2023 is bringing forth a more naturally arched brow. They are fuller, still shaped to a person’s features, but not as precise. Every woman and man needs to have our clear brow gel in their vanity. We want to be able to control the way the hairs lay, and that should always be going upward.
Is there any celebrity that you haven’t worked on that you would like to and why?
I’ve been blessed to work on everybody - literally. There’s not many these hands haven’t touched. I guess the only one I haven’t had the pleasure of actually shaping at this point is Michelle Obama. I did hear from a reliable source however that she uses the Damōne Roberts Brow Line, so I’ll gratefully settle for that.
What does the word power mean to you?
Power means being 100% comfortable in who you are! It’s embracing the insecurities, oddities, eccentricities, as well as the achievements, loves, laughter, and light. It’s wrapping yourself up in a full embrace as you lay your head down at night, and knowing some days are better than others. I always do my best, and my best is all I can give. That is the truest definition of power.
