Jasmine Rostamian is the owner and designer of Bella Sophia Jewels, a small, female-owned jewelry business in Los Angeles, California. Before starting her jewelry design endeavor she was a high school English teacher with two degrees in English Literature. But like many others, she felt the need for a more creative outlet during the COVID lockdowns and started making jewelry for herself and for gifting to friends and family. This turned into Bella Sophia Jewels, named after her two daughters. Jasmine resides with her husband, daughters, son, and Maltipoo, Archie, in Los Angeles.

As a mother of three young children, how do you balance family life while running a small business?

I think as women, we are inherently capable of juggling many things at once. We see so many amazing women who are running their own businesses, building empires, taking care of their kids and family, and looking fabulous while doing so. What are some jewelry trends we are seeing right now?

Jewelry, like everything else in fashion, is cyclical. It changes so quickly, and trends that we thought were gone forever are suddenly back. I would say silver jewelry is having a comeback, and so are mixed metals, which I love.

What does the word power mean to you?

There’s nothing more empowering than being completely comfortable in your own skin and not letting anyone else define you.
