Domino’s digital corrugated printing is popular for eCommerce short runs
Today’s eCommerce packaging provides a way for brands to differentiate and interact with consumers and is increasingly used to provide a personalised consumer experience at the point of delivery.
“The opportunities presented by the rise in eCommerce over the last few years has put pressure on corrugated box converters to provide options for shorter print runs and lead times,” says Ben Ginesi, European sales manager for digital corrugated packaging at Domino Printing Sciences. “Digital corrugated printing is fast becoming the solution to this as with digital printing, the printing approach is flexible, plate-free, and requires minimal set-up time, so former limitations like cost and minimum print runs are no longer roadblocks to creating engaging packaging for the sector.”
Domino’s X630i inkjet press is designed for everyday corrugated box production, enabling corrugated box printers to profitably develop short- and medium- run market opportunities –with production of anything from 100–10,000 boxes at a competitive price. Domino’s digital technology also allows manufacturers of corrugated print to meet the ever-increasing demands of brand owners for better green credentials of their packaging – be this from printing ink type, machine energy consumption, or total ink use.
The flexibility of digital printing allows brands to incorporate personalisation, seasonality and loyalty into their packaging. The rise of digital printing has allowed smaller brands and those working within tight margin industries to get involved.
