Newest digital input modules

needs, in conditions of maximum safety and efficiency.

In addition to being classified as a safe system because it is powered by 24V direct current, the drive roller is a silent, compact and efficient solution with a long working life.

The RDR drive roller BL3 solution is designed as the ideal choice in terms of available speeds and torques. Also, it requires less energy consumption than a traditional lineshaft conveyor as the motor power is only 40W. And, Rulmeca says, depending on the characteristics of the packs to be handled, the overall configuration of the system and the environmental conditions, it is possible to select the most suitable execution to meet the handling

In order to guarantee an optimal control action of the RDR drive roller BL3, Rulmeca has entered into a partnership with Pepperl+Fuchs, supplier of sensors and components for the global automation market.

The G20 IO-Link rollerdrive motor control module provides real-time information on run-time, number of stops/ starts and number of faults. Applications include assembly lines, intralogistics environments, overhead conveyors, machine tools and end of line packaging.

The AL4xxx range of digital input modules from ifm electronic, which allow sensors to be connected direct to fieldbus networks, has now been extended to include versions for use with Modbus TCP networks. The new additions complement the existing modules in the range, which are designed for use with PROFINET and EtherNet/IP networks.

In many applications, these modules greatly simplify network infrastructure, thereby reducing design, installation and commissioning costs.

All digital input modules in the newly extended range have an integrated counter feature which makes it easy to implement accurate and dependable high speed counting functionality that is completely unaffected by network delays and PLC cycle time.

There are now twelve modules in the AL4xxx range. Users can choose from Modbus TCP, PROFINET or Ethernet/IP types with stainless connectors for food industry applications, or nickel-plated brass connectors for general industrial use. They can also choose between StandardLine models with a single A-coded M12 power connector rated at 4 A or PerformanceLine models with two L-coded M12 connectors each rated at 16 A. T 020 8213 0000

A range of compact inductive distance measuring sensors can detect objects and also distance within a 10 mm range

Baumer has introduced a new range of compact inductive distance measuring sensors designed to detect objects and distance within a 10 mm range. These IF200 dual channel sensors offer benefits of delivering the largest sensing range combined with precision resulting in excellent inductive sensor performance across a wide range of automated manufacturing applications.

Though miniature in size (W 20 mm x L 42 mm x H 15 mm), these sensors provide ultra-precise linearised measured values within a 10 mm range with up to 3 micron resolution, via either IO-Link or as analogue voltage signals. There is also a retrofit option available with exactly the same pinout which ensures easy connectivity when replacing Baumer’s existing conductive measuring IWFK sensors. The Baumer sensor

In addition to their range capability and performance, a robust plastic housing means the sensors can withstand increased ambient temperatures in more challenging applications up to 75deg C. Also, as a result of Baumer sensor technology, they provide low temperature drift of just 2% across the entire sensing range.

Depending on the model selected, ultra-precise linearised measured values with 3 micrometer resolution are provided either via IO-Link or as analog voltage signals.

The fully digital variant is a compact and cost-effective option as it removes the need for shielded cables and high-resolution A/D converter cards, says the company.
