Dining Room 1354

Dining January is National Soup Month. We will be celebrating all month long with new hearty soups. Meet Our New Chef Simon Seitz’s love affair with food began at an awardwinning retirement community, Woodland Pond, located in New Paltz, NY. It was there that he learned his fundamental skills and started to develop his future career. With a few years of kitchen experience under his belt, he enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America in December 2014.

10

Seventeen months later, he graduated with honors and began working for Mazzone Hospitality in New York’s Capital Region. Simon was quickly promoted from line cook to an International Cuisine Chef, working alongside a sushi master from Japan. He was also a Chef Manager and then a Sous Chef at the Empire State Plaza. In June 2020, Simon moved to Philadelphia with his wife, Kristen to become the Executive Chef at Chestnut Hill Hospital. Here, he further developed his leadership and organizational skills. Simon is eager to serve the residents of Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill.
