Located in the Star Points Building, the Barley Wellness Center offers state-of-the-art equipment, fitness classes and an indoor pool and spa. Trained staff will help you develop a personalized fitness program. Open 24 hours, with staff available Mon. - Fri., 6 a.m. - 4 p.m. Pool hours: Mon. - Fri., 8 - 11:30 a.m.

Our instructor, Claudia, will guide you through a gentle half-hour yoga session of seated and standing poses focused on strength, relaxation, balance and flexibility.

Designed to work your entire body, this class will benefit individuals who are looking for an active cardiovascular workout with intervals of strength, flexibility and range-of-motion exercises.

Walking Group

Our wellness staff will warm you up and cool you down with various exercises before and after a short walk. Join neighbors and friends for good music and conversation, all while contributing to a healthy, active lifestyle.

Our instructor, Nikki, will guide you through gentle stretches to improve flexibility and balance and increase range of motion, making it easier to perform everyday tasks.

Our book selection for October is “The Nature of Fragile Things” by Susan Messner. Sophie Whalen is a young Irish immigrant so desperate to get out of a New York tenement that she answers a mailorder bride ad and agrees to marry a man she knows nothing about. San Francisco widower Martin Hocking proves to be as aloof as he is mesmerizingly handsome. Sophie quickly develops deep affection for Kat, Martin’s silent 5-year-old daughter, but Martin’s odd behavior leaves her with the uneasy feeling that something about her newfound situation isn’t right.

Life in Vienna This takes us to the peak of Mozart’s career as a pianist and composer in Vienna. The speed of his composing and the ability to compose in his head are legendary.

Nov. 1

Opera in Vienna Mozart collaborated with Lorenzo Da Ponte on his great operas: “Marriage of Figaro”, “Don Giovanni” and “Cosi Fan Tutte”. Although his marriage and finances were going under, he continued producing masterworks.
