In 1903, Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson set off from San Francisco in a 20-horsepower Winton touring car hoping to become the first person to cross the United States in the new-fangled “horseless carriage.” Based on a true story, this film is not rated and has a run time of 106 minutes. Changing the Course of the Disease

Join storyteller Dennis Strain as he picks stories from Afghanistan, Russia, Ethiopia and four other countries, exploring themes that resonate in Masonic Village and throughout the world. This performance will be repeated on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m., in the GLH Solarium.

Life Long Learning Center
Explore an alternative version of agriculture that centers itself around the importance of the tree as a sustainer of life for many species across the food web. Using earth’s toolbox to work with nature rather than against it, the presentation will focus on rediscovering old methods of land management to create more abundant and fulfilling landscapes with diverse plant communities that can withstand disease, pest and climate pressures.

Some of our residents and employees have been practicing their ballroom dance steps with the help of instructors Douglas and Cindy Rapp. These students, along with others from Iron Bridge Dance Studio, are ready to have some fun dancing. AI – The Basics and Future Outcomes

A buzz word, which has become popular in today’s vernacular, is “diversity.” The band has planned a musical program with all styles of music consisting of classical, vaudeville, swing, and rock and roll. The Lukens Band from Coatesville is a 55-piece Community Concert Band founded in 1911. Currently directed by Richard Albright, the band will feature music from Phantom of the Opera, a wonderful setting of the hymn “God of Our Fathers,” a piece from Japan, plus marches and music saluting America. This will be an exciting and varied concert performance.

Shaking the Family Tree

The family tree to be shaken is the Homo sapiens family tree. Beginning with the discovery of Neanderthals, scientists began to construct a family tree which challenged the view that humans were unique and separate from nature and other animals. Guided Autumn Walking Tour of the Formal Gardens

Meet on Trexler Terrace
This is a 45-minute guided walk on level terrain, preceded by a 20-minute sit-down illustrated historical overview, with a 10-minute break in-between. Meet on Trexler Terrace. An informative, musical and historical program with original songs of this region during the early 1900s, highlighting the everyday struggles of the European coal miner in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Vocals are accompanied by guitar and claw-hammer banjo.

Join the Masonic Village Senior Stage Show as they perform “Sex Please, We’re Sixty.” This fast-moving farce is set in Mrs. Stancliffe’s Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast where her guests, nearly all women, return year after year. Bud Davis, the elderly Casanova next door, claims the inn is successful because the women enjoy his company. Mrs. Stancliffe steadfastly denies this, but the weekend’s three female guests may just prove Bud right after all.

Located in the Freemasons Cultural Center, the Baird Wellness Center offers an array of cardiovascular and strength equipment, functional training, personal training and group fitness classes. Massage therapy and wellness workshops on mind, body and spirit are also offered.
Open daily, from 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. Staff are available Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Group exercise classes are broadcast on MVTV Monday through Friday, in the morning.

As part of this fall-injury prevention handson workshop, a Certified Personal Trainer will build a program based off of initial assessments to advance strength, gait and balance. Wreaths Across America 2023
Each December on National Wreaths
Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,700 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad, including our own Masonic Village Cemetery. Shown are two cabinets built using oak per a customer’s request. The cabinet on the left has drawers and a fixed shelf behind the doors. The cabinet shown on the right also has shelves inside behind the doors. We can make a custom cabinet with your preferred dimensions in a choice of several woods we have in our inventory. Please drop in to discuss your request with us.

Masonic Village Rooster Woodshop is located on the corner of Freemason Drive and Umbaugh Drive. The showroom is open Monday through Friday, from 8 – 11 a.m. and 1 – 3 p.m. It is also open on Saturday, from 8 – 11 a.m. There are many assorted items produced by the members. All items on display are for sale, and all Masonic Village residents and employees receive a 15% discount. The shop can produce custom furnishings and novel items from wood, and members can also perform minor repairs to furniture upon request. Scan the QR code for a link to our Facebook page.
