Walker Country Benchrest 100, 200, 300 HV Group Shoot
We want to thank all our shooters and supporters for coming out Saturday and Sunday and braving the hot temperatures. Both days started out in the low eighties but reached and exceeded the hundred degree temperatures. Low wind on each day. Even with the high temperatures, the shooters still had a great time. In first for the 100 yr HV was Gary Bristow with a .160, followed by Dickie Pustejovsky with a .213, and in third was Kenneth Terrell with a .224. Gary Walters placed first in the 200 yr HV with a .245 followed by John Horn with a .248, then
in third with a .260 was Jackie Schmidt. In the 300 HV John Horn received the first place trophy with a score of .279 followed by Gary Bristow with a .297 and in third was Kenneth Terrell with a a .305. The Three Gun Grad Agg winner was John Horn with a .254. Second place winner with a .270 was Gary Bristow, and in third was Kenneth Terrell with a .279. Again, we truly appreciate all the support we have had in getting our new range off to a great start. We couldn’t do it without you! We look forward to more great scores and fun at our next shoot. Long Range Score Nationals
July 16-17, 2016 There were 32 shooters from around the country that came to the Long Range Score Nationals in LaGrande, Oregon. The weather was pretty cooperative. Saturday started out at 51F at 8am and by the end of the beautiful sunny day it was 81. The Hunter 200 was contested first, followed by VFS. There were no 250’s shot in either discipline. Hunter Hall-of-Famer, Bill Small won the Hunter 200 championship with a 248-3X, Chad Schmidt followed with 246-10X, and Jeff Klapstein was third with a 246-8X. The afternoon VFS200 was tricky due to heavy mirage and once again there were no 250’s. Bill Small managed to win the yardage with a 249-6X, second was Tom Peyton with a 247-7X followed by Weldon Yoder with a 247-5X. Sunday morning was chilly at 50F and overcast skies. The VFS300 was contested first and with the overcast sky and very little mirage, scores were looking better than Saturday. The 300 yard Champion was Gary Evans with a 249-10X, which is also a potential new National record. Second place was Greg Sweezy with a 249-6X, and third was Glenn Sampson with a 249-5X.
Just after we finished Hunter 300 Match #1, the overcast sky turned black and a heavy rain began which lasted for about an hour. Targets and Crew, were totally soaked. All competitors however, kept going. They shook off the rain and finished the Hunter 300 rifle match. VFS 300 Champion was Greg Sweezy with
5
a 246-4X followed by Tim Naugle with a 244-3X and third was Rocky Libbey with a 243-1X. There was a total of seven shooters competing for the overall 100,200, & 300 yard Hunter champion & VFS Champion. These folks attended the Short and Long Range Championship. The results follow. I would like to thank everyone that participated in these Nationals for their patience, and perseverance. A number of competitors helped finish range work and assisted with other duties. Their help was invaluable since two persons who committed to help were unable to show. Thank you to 10X Bullets for their donation of 2 containers of bullets that were awarded to the high X count in each aggregate Hunter & VFS. Range photo above is from Ron Powell. Thank you. The June match was a HOT one; 105F on Friday, 96F Saturday and 92F Sunday. Following are the results from June. Congratulations to Don Nielson for winning the Four Gun at 100-Yards. July 2-3, 2016 The conclusion of the California State Championship was held July 2-3, 2016 and consisted of all four guns at 200-Yards. Saturday the Sporter and Light Varmint was shot and Sunday was Heavy Varmint and Unlimited. Weather was warm in the 90’s but not hot. Mirage was the problem. Steve Epstein shot the smallest 200 yard group ever at Sacramento and set a new range record in the Sporter 200 along with a nice screamer of .114. He also took the Two, Three and Four Gun to become the California State Champion. Congratulations Steve! Yellowstone Rifle Club’s Mac Clark Memorial Small Is Hunter Champion Becker Wins VFS
Yellowstone Rifle Club’s annual Mac Clark memorial benchrest match was held on June 25-26. The 100-200 yard HBR/VFS tournament had 10 competitors in the hunter class and 14 shooters in varmint for score. Temperatures were in the high 80’s all weekend with some tough wind conditions on Saturday. The wind was already reaching 30mph gusts when we started the 100-yard HBR match on Saturday morning. A score of 248 was the best that could be had that morning with Ron Field’s 248-13X taking first, Bob Lunder’s 248-12X taking second, and Jack Foster’s 248-9X in third. That afternoon the winds got pretty wild at 200 yards. Sam Small made his long trip from Washington State worthwhile and finished in first place with a 242-3X. You know the conditions were tough when it was all a former national champion shooter like Sam could do to get a 242. Jack Foster was next in line with a 240-5X that took second place and Richard Lynn came in third with a 239-4X. In the Grand, first place went to Sam Small with a 489-14X, second went to Jack Foster with a 488-14X and Bob Lunder took third with a 485-12X. There
was a three-way tie for the most X’s overall with Sam Small, Jack Foster, and Ron Fields all punching out 14 of the little dots. Sunday morning was a welcome relief with little wind and cooler temperatures to kick off the 200yard VFS match. Over half the shooters were still clean through the third target, but that would change quickly as a switchy wind started to pick up during the fourth target and points started dropping. Local veteran shooter Roger Schuppe used his experience to work his way through the “Yellowstone Twist” and finished in first place with a 250-8X. Ray Becker was right on Roger’s heals with a 250-7X that was good for second and Rob Seelye, who is also a seasoned Yellowstone benchrest competitor came in third with a 249-8X. After a mid-morning lunch break we finished out the weekend with the 100-yard VFS match. The mild conditions continued throughout the afternoon and five shooters posted 250 scores. Rob Seelye came out on top with 16 X’s that put him in first place followed by Richard Lynn and Ray Becker with 14 X’s each. Looking back through the targets showed that Richard knocked out an X on the first bull of the first target, giving him the second place finish and putting Ray in third.
In the VFS grand aggregate Ray Becker’s 500-21X got top honors and the first place trophy. Rob Seelye came in second with a 49924X and Roger Schuppe took third with his 499-13X. The high X count went to Don Mulhall with 26 for the day. I want to congratulate the winners and thank everyone who attended the match. A big thanks is also in order for the target, scoring, and kitchen crew, consisting of my wife Ginger, Hailey Anderson, and my two sons Kyle and Tyler. They did an excellent job! Chuck Hearn Memorial & Missouri State Score Match Mike Schneidman wins VFS Tom Hencken wins Hearn Memorial July 16-17 2016 Many thanks to all competitors for coming to our match, especially to those that traveled a long distance. If you did not make this match you missed a good one. Our state shoot this year was dedicated to Chuck Hearn. Chuck was a really enthusiastic score and group competitor that rarely missed a match--and he had to drive 150+ miles to get here. Chuck was a really great man; he was as good as they come. Everything considered, we had readable conditions for this range at 100 yards but some really variable intensity winds at 200 yards. Competitors that like to shoot score matches should really put this double match on their list to attend next year. Chuck Hearn Memorial MO State HTR The 100 yard winner was Wade Hunnewell with 250-15X and at 200 yards the winner was Tom Hencken with 249-6X. The grand aggregate winner was also Tom Hencken with 498-20X. Missouri State Varmint for Score At 100 yards the winner was Mike Schneidman with 250-20X. Mike took the 200 yard win also with 2478X and his grand agg was 497-28X. The results follow in both Hunter
and VFS. We hope to see you all at our next and final club score match of the year and that will be on Sunday, October 2nd at 9AM and it will be a single match of Hunter or VFS combined, hope to see you all! Gary Bristow wins Two Gun at Seymour and... Mike Conry shoots possible UNL10 record!
by Glenn Chism On July 16-17, the Seymour Range hosted the Gulf Coast Region Unlimited & Heavy Varmint 100-200 match. Hosts, John Horn and Scott Hunter did an outstanding job in the scorching Texas Heat. It was so hot, I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking. (Smile) So
you can imagine what the heat did to some of us senior citizen benchrest Shooters. I had breakfast with Cecil Tucker, Brad Calhoun and Gary Bristow. Cecil shared a story that should be of interest to all new shooters. Cecil has been around a long time. He’s the guy that modifies some of the competition scopes with his version of a stabilizer. In 2004, the NBRSA national was held at Midland, TX. Cecil lives in close proximity to the range, by West Texas standards. During the two week period, before the start of the national, he said that he was at the range every day practicing. The Midland Range is known for its sometimes tough conditions. At the end of the two week practice session, Cecil stated he was familiar with how each
condition would affect target POI. The practice paid off. Cecil Tucker almost won that National event. His advice to Gary was that there is no substitute for practice. That’s some advice that many of us could use. Dr Larry Lyford wore two hats at the match. He was the Range Officer and he cooked breakfast and lunch. Dr Lyford is a dang good cook and the food was free. Good thing we kept this secret from the local homeless population. It don’t get any better than this folks. Dr Lyford’s daughter Abby worked inside the air conditioned office, helping score targets. We had dinner at our favorite steak restaurant, the only one in town, the Rusty Spur. The cooks at this place know how to grill steaks. I ran into a guy at the Rusty Spur that I knew from Dallas. I asked him how he found Seymour. He relayed that he and his wife drive 170 miles from Dallas on a regular basis just for the steaks at the Rusty Spur. Who is this young man Gary Bristow? He is a relatively new shooter to the sport. He is putting in the time and energy it takes to develop the necessary skills to win. No different from any other sport. He is rapidly becoming a force to be reckoned with in BR competition. Gary fought off the (seven year in a row) champion, Mike Conry. Mike didn’t go down easy. He laid down a blistering 10 shot unlimited 0.1846 agg in 10-25mph switchy winds to start things off at 100 yards. His target has been submitted for possible record. Gary stayed hot on the heels of the Champ and pulled off the win. There was some fantastic shooting in some windy, tricky conditions. Thanks to all who came out and supported this fun sport. Enough can’t be said about the job that John Horn and Scott Hunter are doing to make the Seymour shoot one

Greetings From Land’s End Bench Rest! by Truman Wilson
July 23-24 2016
Seventeen shooters braved the balmy 80F weather Saturday morning to test their Unlimited skills. Larry White lead the parade by winning the first two matches with an impressive .167 on the first and a .216 on the second. Joe Olas took the third and fifth matches with a .230 on the third and a .316 on the fifth. New shooter from Utah, Wayne Christian, took the fourth match with a .188 shooting his recently acquired Rainbow Rail. Unlimited 100 yard Top Five were as follows: Larry White first, Dave Gibson second, Brandon McNairy third, Lowell Frei fourth, and Wayne Christian fifth.
After lunch the temperature was in the mid 90’s with a modest but switching breeze. As the afternoon came on the temperature hovered near 100 and the mirage became stronger. At one point, being on opposite ends of the firing line, Wayne Christian mistook Joe Olas’s “happy dance” as a really bad case of mirage. Brandon McNairy took the first match with a .702. Then Larry White woke up and shot a .516 to take the second and a .408 to take the third matches. In the fourth match Joe Olas won with a .800 and an unbecoming rendition of the “happy dance” ensued. In the fifth match Truman Wilson stumbled into a
match winning .482. The UNL200 Top Five were follows: Dave Gibson first, Truman Wilson second, Larry White third, Lowell Frei fourth, and Brandon McNairy in fifth place. The UNL Grand was Larry White first, Dave Gibson second, Brandon McNairy third, Lowell Frei fourth, and Truman Wilson fifth. Sunday dawned clear and bright at about 80 degrees and the breeze was still there. Thankfully we shot the Sporter 200 in the morning. Another shooter joined the fray for the Sporter. Lowell Frei won the first match with a .501 and the fifth match with a .337. Larry White won the second match with .501 also. Dave Gibson won the third match with a .378. And Cliff McNairy took the fourth match with a .605. Top Five in SP200 were as follows: Truman Wilson first, Dave Gibson second, Lowell Frei third, Mark Schwab fourth, and Brandon McNairy fifth. Another great lunch and the temperature was climbing to a “dry” 99 degrees. Mirage would be bad, but we were shooting at 100 yards now. Shooters were taking off articles of clothing to keep cool. One

shooter was reported to have said that when it reached 100 he was going to take off his shorts. The ladies on the target crew were overheard praying for more mirage if it reached 100 degrees. First match was won by Lowell Frei’s .182. Larry White won the second with a .135, the fourth with a .103, and the fifth with a .197. Local shooter Leon Noel took the third match with a .133. SP100 Top Five were as follows: Larry White, Leon Noel, Lowell Frei, Dan Dowling, and Tom Stiner. SP Grand was Larry White, Lowell Frei, Leon Noel, Dan Dowling, and Dave Gibson. Considering the temperature, wind, mirage and the accomplished shooters in attendance, only one person did not shoot a group one inch or larger for the entire week end. That person was Truman Wilson. Thanks to the stat and target crews and the shooting patrons, we appreciate you. See you at the “Purple Haze”. Photos are from the lovely Bonnie Stiner. 25th Annual Wisconsin State Championship
The 25th annual WI State Hunter Rifle Championship was held at the Holmen Rod & Gun Club on July 10-11. Twenty-seven shooters prepared for battle to claim the 100yard crown. Temperatures were in the low 80’s, sunny skies and light winds at their 6 made for some sporty conditions. Mike Bigelow was again on auto pilot and took the hill with 5X on the first target and never looked back. Mike paid attention and posted a 250-19X to won the first battle. Wade Hunnewell was runner-up 250-17X followed by Mike Paluda 250-16X. The weather forecasters predicted sunny skies, mid 80’s and light winds for Sunday, however temperatures were in the mid 60’s, thunderstorms and gusty winds provided sassy conditions at 200 yards. The battle went down to the last match. Wayne Corley braved the elements and advanced up to the top to procured king of the hill honors posting 245-5X edging TK
Nollan into second via tie breaker. James Minnig stood tall and finished third 245-4X. With the battles decided, TK Nollan defends his 2015 title and wins the war! TK captured the top spot again and is declared Grand Champion with 495-21X. Wayne Corley placed second with 495-19X followed by Mike Bigelow 494-23X. I’m thinking TK is starting to like Wisconsin. Congratulations to all! It’s very difficult to thank everyone here and keep it short but, I must thank everyone for attending and all who helped prepare and run the match! A huge thank you to all that made donations for the prize drawings! Your support and donations helped us make the WI State Hunter Rifle Championship “The One to Win”. Desert Sportsman Score Match
July 23-24, 2016 At 112° and the mirage which isn't anything new for Vegas we went to the benches. We shot VFS on the 23rd and Hunter benchrest on the 24th. It was a close match but Doc Smith won it with a 25010x. This was also his first 200 yard 250 score. Congratulations Doc. Joel Nader also shot a 250-11x at 100 yards. Nice shooting Joel. He's long time shooter but it's his first time with us. Sunday the heat went down for Saturday from 112° to a 110° so that helped, but we still had the mirage and of course the wind. Muchas Gracias
Whittington Center, New Mexico “Muchas Gracias” Many Thanks by Mark Motsko On the day after the attempted coup d’etat in Turkey, and just a few days after the terrorist attacks in France, 26 shooters were thankful to be able to come to the Whittington Center and enjoy their constitutional freedom by exercising their second amendment rights. They are thankful for having a world class facility, and thankful to enjoy the company of friends, some who they may only see during benchrest matches. Saturday morning started with the LV100. Joel Nader, formerly of Palmyra, NY and now residing in Las Vegas, NV started things off with a .166, followed by Steve Murphy from Lubbock with a .178. “Catfish” Todd Tyler was right behind Murphy with a .179. In the second match, Greg Smith, out of Albuquerque, moved to the head of the pack with a .188, .1935 agg, followed by Durward Wofford small group .155, .1945. Walt Berger’s .205, .1965 agg moved him into third. Then, a very interesting thing happened. Neither Wofford, nor Murphy shot a group larger than .189 for the next three matches. Wofford shot an .095 (match 3 small group), .189, and .179 to finish with a .1704 aggregate. Which would have won the match nine times out of ten. But Murphy was on fire. .170 in the third, .089 (small group trophy winning and personal best) in the fourth, and a .127 (fifth match small group) for a blistering .1564 aggregate. Glendale, AZ’s Berger held off the rest of the field for third place with a .2224, followed by Rio Rancho, NM’s Tyler .2340 and Nader’s .2394. After lunch, the HV100 started off much like the LV ended. Keith Cottrell, from Fillmore, California
(*cough* *cough* shooters from CA) started with a trophy winning small group .111, followed by “The Man from Rifle, Colorado” Roy Damron’s second place .177. Larry Leser, out of Delta, Colorado, was in third with a .181. Conditions started changing as the temperature rose and the winds started to pick up. The shooters who were able to make adjustments stayed on top of the leaderboard, while those who didn’t fell. Cottrell and Damron remained in first and second respectively with aggs of .1770, and .2190. Tyler moved up to third with a .2370. Bob Brackney out of Wickenburg, Arizona shot the match small group of .224, giving him an agg of .2630. But he was just warming up. In the third match, Tyler’s .135 dropped his agg to .2030 and moved him into second place. But his .135 wasn’t the small group of the match. Brandon McNairy, out of Evergreen Colorado, who is entering his sophomore year in high school in the fall, out shot the entire group with a .119. He dropped his agg to .2063 and moved into second place. Cottrell dropped to third with a .289, .2143. Tyler closed out the match with a .181, and .283 to finish in first with a .2146 aggregate. Brackney shot the match four small group of .161, and then a .227 to finish second with a .2198, and McNairy held on for third place with a .294 and .283 (tying Tyler in the fifth match) with a .2392 agg. Cottrell finished just out of the trophy race with a .2404, and Joel Nader was fifth with a .2570. Dan Sutton, out of Glendale, AZ shot the fifth match small group .206. On Sunday Tyler started off the HV200 with a .316, followed by Nader’s .367 and Smith’s .413. Tyler kept his hot hand in the second match with a small group trophy winning .283 .1498 agg. Jim Hemmert from Kalvesta, Kansas moved
to second with a .308 .1842 agg. Nader remained in third with a .502 .2173. Tyler ran first wire to wire with a .432 in the third, .589 in the fourth and .661 in the fifth for a .2281 aggregate. Nader’s .466, .456, and .625 gave him an agg of .2416 for second. And with a .478, .413, and .707, Hillsboro, Missouri’s Bud Mundy finished third with a ..2589. Kelly Ellis had the small group in the third match with a .347, Bob Brackney’s .315 was small group in the fourth, and Steve Murphy’s .369 was small group in the fifth. For the Heavy Varmint Grand, Tyler won with a .2213 followed by Brackney with a .2435 and Nader with a .2493. Keith Cottrell was fourth and Brandon McNairy came in fifth. In the LV200, match one saw shooting legend Walt Berger start off with a small group .286. Dan Sutton was right behind him with a .298, and Brackney in third with a .412. Berger remained in first place after the second match with a .520, .2015 as Todd Tyler moved into second with a .575, .2635 and Keith Cottrell moved to third with a .687, .2775. Jim Hemmert shot the match two small group of .456. After a quick lunch break, the competitors got back at it with Tyler taking the lead with a .420, .2457. Cottrell moved up to second with a .494, .2673, and Nader was third after shooting the match small group of .359 dropping his aggregate to .2780. Nader took the lead after the fourth match with a .257, .2406 followed by Cottrell with a .470, .2592. Tyler slipped to third with a .611, .2696. Bud Mundy shot a screaming .116 (which may be a range record, we’re checking our files) to take home the small group trophy. Finally after the fifth match, “Catfish” over took Nader. Tyler finished the weekend with author-

ity shooting the final match small group of .374 giving him a .2499 aggregate. Nader was just behind with a .586 .2511 aggregate and Walt Berger won the third place trophy with a .602, .2947. In the Light Varmint Grand, Tyler’s .2420 edged out Nader’s .2453 and Steve Murphy’s .2492. Berger finished fourth and Cottrell fifth. So for the Two Gun, the big question was who was going to finish second behind Tyler’s .2316. Joel Nader’s .2473 was second, followed by Keith Cottrell’s .2772. Steve Murphy finished fourth, and the young gentleman Brandon McNairy came in fifth. Getting ready for a match takes a lot of time and hard work by the members getting the grounds and clubhouse ready for our visitors. As competitors began arriving at the range, the weather was great and stayed that way all weekend long. On Friday we had a taco bar, which the shooters enjoyed and also gave them time to get some practice in before the match began. Saturday was a steak fry with Arlene’s famous crushed pineapple cake. There were no leftovers. Sunday we had a spaghetti supper. Here are the results from our match. Congratulations to Bill Mitchell, our Two and Three Gun Champion. Thanks to everyone for attending. Cease Fire
by Truman Wilson Once again at this years Cactus Classic the specter of a late shot has reared its ugly head. I have been shooting benchrest for about thirty years. During that time I have seen numerous disqualifications, reprimands, and stern admonishments to competitors that have fired “late”. Webster’s dictionary defines “late” as; occurring after the usual or proper time. The operative word here is “after”. The next consideration is “proper time”. The proper time is clearly defined in the NBRSA Rule Book as either seven or twelve minutes (not considering first match or restart time adjustments). So one would naturally interpret a late shot to have occurred after the seven/ twelve minute firing interval. At the same time an early shot would occur before the start of said time interval. Common knowledge is that the time interval is clearly defined by the words “commence fire” and “cease fire”. So where is the problem? “Commence fire” and “cease fire” are among numerous military commands used to guide or direct the behavior of soldiers. These commands have been adopted by many civilian groups. Examples of military commands would be; “attention“, “forward, march“, “company, halt“, or “to the left flank, march”. Most of these commands
are multi word commands. The Army field manual FM 3-21.5 and Air Force FM 22-5 describe multi word commands as being broken into two parts with a short time interval between the parts. The first part is the preparatory part. The second part is the command of execution. So “forward” tells the soldiers to prepare accordingly and the word “march” tells them what and when to begin. Therefore the word “cease” tells the competitors what they are going to do, and “fire” tells them what and when the action is to happen. According to the above logic, you do not start to march on the preparatory command of “forward”. But after a short time interval, you actually start to march on the execution command of “march”. The same is true of the commands “commence fire” and “cease fire”. In both cases the word “fire” is the command of execution. With these facts in mind it is important that the Range Officer start the clock as the word “fire” is spoken in the “commence fire” command. And that the Range Officer stop the clock as the word “fire” is spoken in the “cease fire” command. Anyone firing before or during the “commence” of “commence fire” should be disqualified. And anyone firing during or after the word “fire” of “cease fire” should be disqualified. Even though the Rule Book addresses "early or late firing" in section 18, it seems to overlook the fact that "cease fire" is a two part command. Apparently the Rule Book expects competitors to be clairvoyant and know when the Range Officer is about to say "cease" so as not to fire during the word "cease". "Cease" is the preparatory part of the command. The act of ceasing begins with the execution part to the command, the word "fire". Anything different is contrary to logic and tradition. On
the other hand the NBRSA is a separate organization and can depart from the tradition and common sense whenever it wants. To give the competitors more or less than the allotted time is unfair. To disqualify a competitor when they may have one or two seconds of legitimate time left is also unfair. Not to mention the wasted time looking for the culprit who fired late and then convincing the competitor that they made an error when they strongly and often correctly believe they had a little time left. The competitors pay the bills and make the sport what it is. The range officer training and the rule book should reflect the above information.
Oak Hill Gun Club
July 17, 2016 Located in Blue Grass, Iowa, our club hosted a Heavy Varmint & Unlimited group match on July 17. The match drew 11 shooters for the heavy varmint and 2 shooters for the unlimited. The morning started out with a thunder storm which delayed the match a few minutes and kept the humidity high all day. The wind varied from switchy to a moderate blow for half the day and drop off in the afternoon. Jerry Wick won all the plaques for the Heavy Varmint starting with .196 agg at 100 yards and the small group of .134. He then led the way with .2058 agg at 200 yards and small group of .195. Jerry's grand agg was .2009 with JJ Coe following in second place with .2733. Jim Carstensen took all the honors in the Unlimited class with a .1254 agg at 100 yards and small group pf .068. Jim did manage to shoot two zeros at 100 yards. Jim continued to win the 200 yard agg with a .1702 and backed up it with a small group of .195. Jim's grand agg was an impressive .1478. A Letter from Tom Libby, SW Director Well, the time has come to become just a shooter again and put my toy box back in the RV. Some of the older shooters know what I mean. I may have or have not been the director that accomplished as much as I had hoped or wanted during my 4 years as SW Director, but I always thought I put the shooters first when trying to make a decision and felt that I represented what my members in my region wanted me to do for them. Communication: I have to commend this Board of Directors that I have been a part of . they have been very receptive to ideas and conversations in a respectful way in our meetings. I have been able to call and have some constructive phone conversations with several of the Board members and I want to thank them for that. I have had the pleasure of shooting the Benchrest sport for about 27 years and have shot two world records that still stand and made the USA Team to Australia, which is not a bad accomplishment for someone that has had nowhere to practice except at the matches I attended. That being said, the best accomplishment was to have my wife able to join me in this sport and also doing very well at it. Being able to travel to the different shoots across the country with your best friend (which happens
to be my wife) has been something words cannot express. I can’t count how many times she has out shot me, which is amazing as I set up the prepare her loads the same as what I was shooting. Darn, the woman can just shoot. I will wrap this up by saying it would be great if our current shooters could remember this is a sport/hobby and we should have fun participating in it. If you happen to shoot well, that’s just a
bonus. The only people that care what you did over the weekend are your fellow shooters and most of them don’t really care. Many of our shooters ages are old and cranky. Try to have some fun. You may be surprised how much more you will enjoy the sport. That’s it for me. See you at a shoot and when you see me, smile, as you do not know to which voice in my head you are talking...
