PRESS RELEASE 28 APRIL 2015

THE PREMIÈRE VISION GRAND JURY PRIZE AWARDED TO ANNELIE SCHUBERT On Sunday 26 April 2015, the long-awaited results were announced. Just a few hours from the close of the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography, celebrating its 30th edition this year, the fashion-competition jury ended the suspense by awarding the Première Vision Grand Jury Prize 2015 to young FrancoGerman designer Annelie Schubert! Awarded in complete independence by an exceptional Jury chaired by Virginie Viard, Creative Studio Director of CHANEL, under the exceptional artistic direction of Karl Lagerfeld, the Première Vision Grand Jury Prize is accompanied by a grant worth €15,000. Première Vision has been working for five years alongside the famed festival of young fashion designers, fulfilling its mission to support textile creativity while helping to discover new design talents destined to be part of tomorrow’s creative industries. Beyond the Grand Prize, Première Vision also supports the shortlisted young designers in the making of their collections. This year, as every year, the 10 finalists were welcomed last 11, 12 and 13 February to the Première Vision Paris shows – Première Vision Yarns, Première Vision Fabrics, Première Vision Leather and Première Vision Accessories. They were put in direct contact with exhibitors who expressed a desire to collaborate with them, and thus benefitted from a privileged access to yarns, fabrics, leathers and accessories from top international companies. They were also welcomed by select exhibitors at Première Vision Manufacturing, the fashion manufacturing show, to help them make their collections. Since the start of its partnership with the festival, Première Vision has seen a substantial increase in the number of its exhibitors participating. And - according to both the finalists and fashion professionals at Hyères - this has had a significant impact on the quality of the presented garments and collections.

And the collaborations between industry professionals and young designers often continues beyond the festival. This year, former finalists attending Hyères pointed to the true and lasting professional relationships they have maintained with some Première Vision Paris exhibitors who continue to work with them on their projects. For her women’s collection, Aprons, Annelie Schubert received support from the following Première Vision Fabrics weavers: Jakob Schlaepfer, Luxury Jersey, Styletex and Teseo.
