Are you ready for the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)?

The DSCSA was enacted in 2013 and will (nally!) be in full implementation in 2023 This act will impact not only trading partners (like wholesalers such as McKesson and Cardinal), but also dispensers (like community pharmacies, even to the store level). As things are nalized across the country in preparation for this, this provides a great learning opportunity for both IPPE and APPE students to see how regulation affects practice

Tips and Resources:

Have student review the law, policy documents, and key provisions with a report/presentation to you and key stakeholders (https://www fda gov/drugs/drug-supply-chain-integrity/drug-supplychain-security-act-dscsa)

Have student attend and report back on the FDA virtual event on December 7-8 (https://www fda gov/drugs/drug-supply-chain-security-act-dscsa-implementation-andreadiness-efforts-2023-12072022)

Have student review home study webinars available (https://nabp.pharmacy/news/blog/howpharmacies-can-prep-now-for-the-2023-dscsa-requirements/)

For community pharmacies: have student complete DSCSA Pharmacy Checklist (http://www.ncpa.co/pdf/dscsa-checklist.pdf)
