About PLC

Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC) was founded in 1915 and has since sustained an international reputation for academic excellence and outstanding success in preparing young women to lead active, purposeful lives.

Evidence of our Scottish heritage is apparent throughout the beautiful Peppermint Grove campus as well as in the distinctive Black Watch tartan uniform and PLC Pipe Band. However, perhaps the most significant legacy of our Scottish tradition is a belief in educational excellence, combined with a whole-ofperson approach to intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual development.

Today this continues to be the philosophical foundation on which a PLC education is based.

PLC has approximately 1,000 students enrolled from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, 150 of which are boarding students who reside in regional Western Australia, Australia, and countries across the globe.

PLC students represent 28 different nationalities and speak more than 16 different languages. Within our student body, we have 50 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

PLC’s whole school attendance rate for 2023 was 93%.

Pathways

107 (72%) students undertook WACE studies for the ATAR pathway and 19 (13%) students chose the Vocational Education and Training pathway.

23 (15%) students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Combined IB/WACE Median ATAR: 90.78.

29% of the cohort achieved an ATAR of 95 or above.

Survey Data

PLC Perth is committed to listening to the views and expectations of key stakeholders and commissions independent surveys to provide perception data on a wide range of related education topics.

The feedback from these surveys greatly assists the College with both its operational and strategic planning and its determination to continually improve the educational experience offered to the students. In 2023, 178 parents and 272 students from selected year groups participated in surveys and provided views on areas such as academic performance, student wellbeing, pastoral care, co-curricular activities, communications, and reputation.
