WACE Achievement and ATAR results release
Sunday 15 December, 2024
You will be able to log into the SCSA Student Portal (WACE achievement) and TISC (ATAR and scaled subject results) to view your results. You will need to know your SCSA/TISC/WA Student Number. This starts with a 3 and is 8 digits in length (you can find this on SEQTA).
The Universities Admission Advice Letter (UAAL)
Sunday 15 December, 2024
You will be able to access your UAAL through TISC.
The UAAL outlines:
• Final scaled scores for individual ATAR subjects
• Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) if relevant
• Eligibility information for the five universities in Western Australia.
Adjustment factors may mean, you have a different ATAR for a specific university (eg rural students for Murdoch University).
Take note of any information pertaining to English competency as it can vary according to university requirements. If you did not achieve a final scaled score of 50 or higher in an English (ATAR) subject and do not receive a conceded pass, see “STAT”.
Important:
You will need to print or download a copy of your UAAL for future reference.
The UAAL will only be available to view up until Friday 28 February, 2025.
If you require a copy of your UAAL after then and have not printed it, you will have to apply and pay for one to be issued to you through TISC. PLC Careers cannot access this for you.

English Language Competency for University Entrance
STAT
The STAT provides an avenue of entry to a tertiary institution for those who do not have the formal entry requirements and it is recognised in all Australian states.
Candidates can access the Candidate Information Booklet online prior to booking for the test. Further practice questions can be purchased through ACER.
What the STAT can do for a Year 12 school leaver?
English language competency
• Year 12 WACE students, attempting English ATAR, EALD ATAR or Literature ATAR, whose English results do not satisfy university requirements, may be invited to sit STAT when the ATAR results are released. This is a second chance to achieve English Language Competency for university entrance.
For Curtin and Edith Cowan universities you only need to sit the STAT Written English section while for UWA, both sections, STAT Multiple Choice and STAT Written English are required.
Note:
Year 12 students undertaking English ATAR, EALD ATAR or Literature ATAR cannot sit the STAT until after the WACE examination results are released.
• Year 12 students undertaking English General and a Certificate IV may apply for the November STAT.
You cannot sit STAT more than once in the same STAT year.
There is a 3-year validity on STAT results from the date of issue.
How to enrol:
Enrolments can be made by completing a STAT Booking Form
There are deadlines to register for STAT.
Average Marks Scaling
“Scaling” is a complex process that happens to all WACE ATAR students. The system is in place to make things as fair as possible.
For a comprehensive explanation of the Marks Adjustment Process see here
WACE ATAR Results Check
Neither Written nor Practical examinations can be re-marked, however, you may request a results check if you have doubts about the results you receive. A fee of $51 is payable to SCSA. Please see page 32 of the Year 12 Handbook Part II.
IB Diploma Students
Head of IB Diploma, Rebecca Garbenis will be in touch after the final examinations with information regarding “Enquiry Upon Results” (EURs) which is the process of appeals against subject grades.

Final word
You may find yourself elated or disappointed with your results. This “number” will seem important to you for a very short period of time. It does not define you nor indicate the likelihood of your success in the future. If you are happy with what your results enable you to do, you have succeeded.
Simone Fleay will be available at PLC on Sunday 15 December 9.00am – 11.00am to assist students who need to explore alternative options. The purpose of this time is to assist students who need to reconsider their options. It is a not a general Careers advice session. It is important students who would like to meet during this time have done some research into their options ahead of time.
Keeping in touch
When school resumes in late January 2025, Simone Fleay will begin making phone calls to the class of 2024 to complete the Class of 2024 Destination survey.
It has been a pleasure working with you all this year and we look forward to hearing your news. Wishing you all a healthy, happy and successful future.
Please stay in touch.
