The Department Of Management studies was established in 2004 with the ambition of becoming the best campus in Kerala for management education in the private sector. AT DOMS O02 The students at DOMS are provided with state of the art facilities like separate Hostels for men and women, computer lab, 24X7 WiFi internet, Library; including the digital library, membership and subscription to online journals and magazines of reputed institutions and universities which contributes into their overall grooming. They get an all round development at DOMS which includes activities planned within and beyond the campus.
WITHIN CAMPUS O03 Apart from the academic knowledge, the department realizes the importance of providing the students with a 360’ degree development so as to mould them into exible and versatile executives in future. Taking into consideration this objective, DOMS implements various activities along with the regular class. These activities help the students to explore them from within as well as provide internal exposure. A quarterly Newsletter is published by students themselves which gives updates about the activities carried out in the department. The department also is working towards publishing its own Research Journal for research purposes. This exercise would be a helping hand for them if they take on research as a career. CEO meets are arranged within the campus where leaders from the corporate world visit and share their knowledge and experience. SAP education lab helps the students, design and implement learnt strategies covering the entire corporate education. Alumini meet is organized every year where the DOMS’ alumni interacts with the current lot of students and share the real corporate picture.
BEYOND CAMPUS O04 The overall grooming of the students cannot be restricted within the class. An important aspect of development is communication with the world outside. Hence, students are encouraged by the department to participate in programmes beyond the gates of the campus so that students get a better exposure. The activities beyond the classroom study include: Industrial Visits to companies which help the students get a practical knowledge about the whole system in an organization especially manufacturing and operations. Participating in corporate seminars conducted by corporates and various professional bodies. Organising and Participating in Management Development Programmes. Social Welfare Initiatives by students at various old age homes and orphanage to bring some cheers to the section of the society who sorrows are unnoticed by the people. DOMS joined hands with CII. it has a chapter of Young Indians which provide a platform for DOMS students to become the voice of young Indians and to participate in and contribute to the Indian growth story. Yi makes DOMS apart of developmental and knowledge dissemination projects.
