Dear Friends of Presentation,
The impact of a Presentation education is undeniable. Our students honor the inherent responsibility of our motto—Not Words, But Deeds every day. Panthers are compassionate leaders and engaged advocates raising their voices and working for the marginalized, oppressed and silenced. This year, we saw a renewed outpouring of love and joy expressed through acts large and small with local and international impact.
At Pres, the opportunities are endless and our educators make it all possible. It is a privilege and an honor to serve our students and I am equally heartened by our educators and our leadership. This year, we said farewell to two influential fearless and faithful women who live out Nano’s vision by humbly serving students and whose impact will be felt for generations: Katherine Georgiev and Katy Lemon.
Katherine Georgiev spent 14 years with Presentation, including the last four as principal. Mrs. Georgiev not only tirelessly advocated to ensure the Presentation experience endures, she provided superb and steady leadership through the pandemic and always put students first. As she begins her decision to chart a new professional path, we feel deep gratitude for her thoughtful and dedicated service to this school and know she will continue to carry Nano’s lantern and light the way for others.
Katy Lemon P’00 ’02 spent more than a quarter century helping our students as Presentation’s librarian, and is known for creating a welcoming space in our library and her vast knowledge around literature. Mrs. Lemon witnessed great changes during her time at Pres, yet remains constant with her wisdom and kindness. She stands as an indomitable reflection of Nano’s light and understands intimately the power of reading and learning to inspire justice around the world.
There is much to look forward to at Pres, especially welcoming Kristina Luscher P’19 ’21 as our new principal and celebrating our 60th anniversary with our All-Alumnae Reunion on Saturday, October 1 and the entire Presentation community with a Mass & Carnival on Sunday, October 2. We move forward fortified and emboldened by the vision and legacy of Nano and the Sisters, committed to our mission of empowering young women to become fearless and faithful leaders and grateful for your continued support.
In Partnership, Holly Elkins, President"At Pres, the opportunities are endless and our educators make it all possible."
FACULTY & STAFF MILESTONES
ThankYou
Best wishes on retirement, Katy Lemon!
After 27 years with Presentation, librarian Katy Lemon P’00 ’02 is beginning a new chapter. We thank her for her years of service and book suggestions, and wish her all the best in her retirement.
“Being part of the legendary Pres community and making wonderful friends have made my 27 years at Pres a real joy. I will miss talking with students about which books they would like to read next, because reading for pleasure is something I love and plan to do lots more of it in retirement.”
Lemon
Dear Pres Community,
I am excited to begin this new school year as the Principal of Presentation High School.
After working at Bellarmine for 22 years, this marks a new chapter for me at a school that I have a deep, personal connection to. As a parent of two recent Presentation graduates (Madeline '19 and Hannah '21), I have witnessed the ways in which a Presentation education prepares young women for the changing world in which we live.
In my first few months in the role, I have been struck by the dedication and commitment of the faculty and staff to our students, and their ongoing efforts to live out the school’s motto, “Not Words, But Deeds.”
With the ever-changing college admissions landscape and post-pandemic world, we at Presentation remain committed to meeting our students where they are at so they can thrive and be successful in high school, college and beyond.
And to the incoming Class of 2026 students and their families, please allow me to welcome you to the Presentation family. It truly is a great day to be a Panther!
In gratitude, Kristina Luscher, PrincipalAfter 14 years with Presentation, Katherine Georgiev decided it was time to begin a new professional chapter. We extend our deepest thanks for her heartfelt leadership and her enduring commitment to the mission, charism and students of Pres.
“Being principal and a member of the Presentation community for the last 14 years has been a great privilege in my career. I am honored to have been entrusted to guide our students and alumnae on their pathway to becoming intellectually competent, faith-filled leaders. I will forever consider myself a Presentation Person and be guided by our motto, “Not Words, But Deeds.”
