Richie Acevedo
Richie Acevedo (formally known as Ace High) is the future of music. Hailing from the Eastside of Milwaukee, WI, Richie embodies the struggles, hope, triumph and peril of the 4th poorest city in the United States of America. As a buzzing hoop star Richie developed an uncanny competitive zeal to accomplish whatever he set his mind to and at the age of 21 despite the terrors of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars joined the United States Army. During his Military service, Richie determined that he had a higher calling and began pursuing the "American Hip-Hop Dream". While stationed in Mannheim, Germany, he began his journey through the European club circuit opening for major American Hip-Hop acts including but not limited to, Rick Ross, Flo-Rida, Method Man and Redman, Fat Man Scoop and F.L.Y, quickly becoming a staple at Mannheim's hottest diskotek "The Orange Club" . After successfully paying dues in the Baden-Wuresburg region of Germany, Richie began to headline his own shows, one of which included tearing down the stage at the highly popular "Club Nexus" outside of Paris, France. With new found success, Richie set his focus on the business side of the music industry and in the fall of 2009, (with guidance from Marvin Scott) founded Deck of Aces Music Group, LLC, an independent A&R. With the buzz growing and whispers from the German public about Richie becoming screams, a hurdle bigger than the music was forming. Richie would soon have to move back to the United States. Upon Richie's 2010 arrival to the D.C, Maryland, and Virginia area things picked up as if nothing had happened. With performances at venues ranging from Washington D.C's highly popular "Lux Lounge" to sets at popular D.C "Go-Go" parties Ace and his growing "DOA" brand began to make their stamp on the emerging Hip-Hop scene. On April 26th, 2011 Richie Acevedo received an opportunity of a lifetime and was selected as the feature artist on Grammy award winner Eminem’s satellite radio station Shade 45’s “Don’t Quit Your Day Job” segment, where he was told by the hosts to “go AWOL, you’re a star”. Since the Shade45 co-sign, Richie has had two Interscope Digital distributed singles, “Only God Knows” and “Make This Clear”, the video for the first of which appearing on MTVu, VladTV, and ThisIs50.com. In the Summer of 2012, Richie Acevedo via Knowledge Entertainment released his Debut Album, “The High Life” to rave reviews, the critically acclaimed “Let It Go” music video directly showed Richie's ability not only as a cross-over artist but his potential to be a movie star. An avid activist, artist, photographer, lyricist, songwriter, producer, and engineer, Mr. Richie Acevedo has taken his Hustle to the next level by attending Full Sail University, one of the nations new cutting edge mass media schools. Choosing to no longer use profanity in his rhymes, Richie is once again challenging himself to accomplish what most prefer not to do, make uplifting music. Richie lists his musical influences as Parliament, Dr. Dre, Al Green, Ice Cube, Isaac Hayes, Jay-Z, and Rakim. With both a domestic and international fan base and countless cosigns from some of the industries finest, Richie Acevedo now feels that he is ready to make his mark on the entertainment world. Currently, Richie has taken Seattle by storm. His #HowHighAceHigh visual and social media campaign can be seen through out downtown Seattle as well on it's iHeartMedia radio station Kube93. In August of 2014, Richie signed a deal with One Famm Music Group now distributed by SMC / inGrooves / Universal Music Group. He proclaims that his agenda is to "change the perspective of how we look at music and art as a whole". An avid activist, photographer, lyricist, songwriter, producer, and engineer, Ace High has taken his Hustle to the next level. Choosing to no longer use profanity in his rhymes, Richie is once again challenging himself to accomplish what most prefer not to do, make uplifting music. His mantra simple, "Surround yourself with people that LIVE what you LOVE and not LOVE what you LIVE", his art metaphorical, "wondering if my space ship will clip heaven", Richie Acevedo now feels that he is ready to make his mark on the entertainment world.
Sage Gentle-W ing "Sage Gentle-Wing is a music listening experience that truly must be experienced " live" to gain a full appreciation for what he does. A very eclectic and unique artist now living in El Paso Tx , Sage brings a special "vibe" to every performance he plays. He is a highly Skilled Jazz / blues guitarist who writes songs that evoke the style and quality of the Beatles, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Bob Dylan etc while flooring the listener with a musicality and guitar skill uncommon among "Singer Songwriters". In Short , Sage delivers the goods! Sage is a former guitar student of the brilliant Tuck Andress (Tuck and Patti) and he obviously learned his lessons well as fingers fly and harmonic music flows out of every song. Sage has really developed his singing voice over the years and his youthful elastic vocals defy reality of age as he enters his 47th year as a professional working musician. In those 47 years Sage has played every type of gig from 22 piece big bands in San Francisco, to opening for Clint Black as the guitarist /band leader for a 3 girl Country pop group (Arrowheart -now Heartlyn Rae )at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix Az to touring Japan in a 7 piece Disco band in 1980 , to touring New Zealand for 5 months in 1999-2000 as a solo artist, and as such , over the years, opening for many national and international acts such as Lukas Nelson,Shooter Jennings and Stargunn, Jason Mraz, Quiet Riot, Kris Delmhorst, Tristan Prettyman, Reckless Kelly, Patrice Pike Janiva Magness to name a few. In fact , he has played guitar in over thirty working bands, including touring for a year with the Circus Vargas showband( a real travelling tent top circus-( the largest in the world in an 8 piece show band , and has worked with , and /or recorded with countless top flight musicians from many sectors of music, many from a wide range of famous bands such as Tower of Power, Hiroshima, Country Joe and the Fish, Cold Blood, Ike and Tina Turner, Loggins and Messina, Stevie Nicks,Robben Ford,Richie Cole,Horace Silver, Count Basie Orch , Charlie Parker, Cleo Laine ,Albert King, Eddie Money, Kingfish, Suzanne Vega ,an endless list... Culture Shock was born with music running through his vains, August 23rd 1987. Although his parents never married and their relationship ended only months after birth, they both shared the love of music and concert going. Each show Culture Shock tagged along to fed his passion for music in all genres, but he especially related to reggae and hiphop. Through elementary school Culture Shock moved several times giving him taste of different cultures and musical experiences. As a child, being the white minority in the schools of D.C. and Florida gave him perspective and had a huge influence on who he is and how he views life. His interest in the music industry started as a teen, when he got his first set of turntables. He would save his pennys to buy records and play around, but with the distraction of school, sports, and girls, time didn't allow for any serious effort. During his late teens he traveled to South Africa and Jamaica, at which point, dancehall and electronic music became very influencial. At 20, he started to dj with Zion Souljahs, primarily mixing dancehall. Although he was limited to the genres chosen by the clubs, he continued experimenting with wider spectrum independantly. He got married at 23 and shortly after welcomed his first son. Beginning this new journey, money became more important than his local, underpaid gig djing. Working a very hard year of concrete, progressing with music and having a child not only exhausted him, but also gave him a reason to push harder. At 24 and still independantly, Culture Shock started producing electronic remixes, as well as, hiphop and dancehall beats. After hearing low quality underground tracks he decided to start working with his brother-in-law producing hiphop music. Using social media as his prime outlet source, he started networking with many other artists and creating a name for himself. Just over a week before his younger son turned one, on February 12, 2014, he released his first full production track, "I Won't ft. St. Paul, Antoine Alston & majik". The song was such a hit that in April, Culture Shock and St.Paul met Antoine Alston in New York City to shoot the video in Times Square. Immidiately after the video was released they had lots of positive feedback and considered it a success. Since then he's had several new releases such as, St.Paul - Let It Go, Willy Whatever - Brighter Day, Wiz Khalifa - We Dem Boys (Culture Shock Sounds remix), along with many others. He produced a free beat giveaway callab, Bonkerz City. It was a beat given out with a hook, and 9 different artists who submitted individual parts. Now, along with some local projects, he's working on a few songs with out-of-state artists. The first one is featuring Aitch who lives in Dallas, TX. Another featuring Feezy YF from Pittsburg, CA and Nina Tha Queen out of Denver, CO. And last but not least, he has a few projects with Onirose from Barbados in the works. The last few years have progressed and gone by very quickly. Culture Shock is very excited and inspired to continue his growth, but proud of the past and how far he's come.

SECOND PLAYER SCORE
The members of Second Player Score know a few things about second chances. For all three of them, the Portland area is their second home – drummer Kyle Gilbert grew up in California, while Brian Tashima and bassist Daniel Downs were both born and raised in Hawaii — and each of them were coming off of what they considered to be their first serious musical projects. Finding each other through musician-wanted ads and word of mouth, the three quickly discovered that they shared a fondness for hard rock, geek culture, and craft beer. After taking their name from a line in an episode of “The Simpsons,” they set about developing a collective sound that eventually grew to resemble bands like Weezer, Husker Du, Green Day, and Bad Religion. What they were finally able to do was to create, what is now, a blazing power rock trio. Playing music ranging from Pop Punk to Driving Rock. Complete with great hooks, melodic vocals, powerful harmonies, and crushing rhythm. At first, it was just meant to be something fun and casual, but as time went along, the songs really started to come together and take on lives of their own. That’s when the guys thought, ‘Hey, maybe other people would actually like to hear this stuff.’ Encouraged by the positive responses they received at their energetic live shows, the band decided to record some of the aforementioned “stuff” with producer/engineer Stephan Hawkes, whose credits include popular Portland-area bands such as Red Fang, Rags & Ribbons, and The Crash Engine. The resulting album, Fortress Storm Attack, is a collection of ten songs that range stylistically from pop-punk (“Chosen One,” “Better Than My Dreams”) to heavier driving rock (“Bend,” “Falling Forever”), all while maintaining the huge sing-along hooks and three-part vocal harmonies that are an integral part of the band’s anthemic rock approach. "KAROAKE CONTEST SEASON IS OPEN" Since handing the reigns of Kara-O-King to a partner and moving here to Portland, Mr. Bedrossian has been busy bringing his particular style of karaoke to the PDX. Currently hosting 3 nights at Pyzano’s Karaoke Lounge (http://www.pyzanosloungeandgrill.com/) in Aloha and one at Shonna’s (https://plus.google .com/101803729080163298955/about?gl=us &hl=en) in Hillsboro, he explains what it is that makes his shows fun. “ First off I like to say that I put the care in karaoke, that is I go hard and take it serious. There’s a big difference between a KJ who presses buttons and one who turns knobs. Attention to detail, nice equipment and a wide music knowledge in the right hands can make a regular night of There’s no doubt karaoke is a bar entertainment karaoke into a full on spectacle. My system mainstay, and sorry to those who don’t like it, incorporates advances in technology to since the early 90’s it has grown in popularity andseamlessly mix karaoke and DJ together to is obviously not going away, ever. What is it maintain a constant fluidity I like to call about karaoke that people like so much? We “casino mentality”. asked Robert Bedrossian, founder of Kara-O-King (http://www.kara-o-king.com), a large karaoke outfit in Miami, FL, his take on the karaoke scene. “Well.. I think the thing about karaoke is that it allows someone to test reality and see that they can be the rockstar. Karaoke means a lot of different things to many people. Most people picture a person who on occasion finds themselves the perfect level of drunk to go up and sing, but there is actually a plethora of karaoke types. You have those, but there is actually a loose knit karaoke scene in just about every city in the world. Those people who for whatever reason find it necessary to go out and Patrons are never given a second of dead air do karaoke 3 or 4 times a week. There’s even to think about leaving, they are engrossed in been studies done on therapeutic uses for the show and almost entranced. At least karaoke, it’s often been part of leadership that’s what I’m aiming for..” When he began training and can help those with social anxiety. Kara-O-King in 1998, it was an easy way to For a few it’s a vehicle to stardom, since the inception of shows like American Idol, The Voice, make some money in college at Michigan Nashville Stars and the like, karaoke has morphed State University, but after graduating and into something else. Nowadays someone can sing taking this hobby to Chicago, Detroit and then Miami, something changed. their way onto a bigger stage.”
KARA-O-KING
“I was doing karaoke as a side job for fun and extra money, my real job was as a mortgage broker. When the market collapsed, I was like, OK what now. I decided to take my side job to the next level, taking what I learned about online marketing mortgages, I applied these techniques to my karaoke. Within about 6 weeks I had a full schedule, 6 days a week and started to think about hiring people.” It was then that Mr. Bedrossian came across the KWCUSA (www.kwcusa.com) , the American portion of the Karaoke World Championships (http://www.karaokeworldchampionships.co m/) . Started in 2003, the KWC has been the largest international singing contest, now including over 46 countries. The finals are held in different countries similar to the Olympics, this year they are at the Azzura Beach Club on Sentoza Island in Singapore in November. “I became the Florida state host in ’05 and the following year hosted the US Nationals at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL. This move gave me access to plenty of like minded people and lots of publicity, in 2 years I’d gone from just me a few nights, to 12 KJs, 50+ shows a week and making some serious money.” Kara-O-King had become one of the largest karaoke companies in the US as most karaoke outfits are just one person. With this publicity amongst the growing problem of digital piracy a storm loomed on the horizon. “It was my birthday, April 2010, I got a huge envelope in the mail and thought I’d gotten a book from my dad or something. I opened it to see that it was actually a lawsuit from Slep Tone Entertainment, the makers of the popular karaoke series SoundChoice (www.soundchoice.com). “2.5 million dollars of potential fines, I saw that number and freaked, then I read on about how I could settle right away for $100,000 and thought, this is a fucking sales pitch! Depending on how many shows you had simultaneously they inferred multiple systems and since we had 10 shows on Wednesdays we got 10 counts at $10k each. I researched any prior suits to find out that Florida was the 5th state since the antipiracy campaign began in 2009. I called several bars from other suits to see
I called several bars from other suits to see what was up, some just got out of karaoke or paid up, it seemed as if the suits swept thru an area and if you survived you could snap up places easily and the ones you had would do better just because of less competition. I called the owner of Slep Tone directly even though there was a settlement hotline to call some law firm. Kurt and I became friends and I attempted to help him get his business back and provide the KJ perspective he didn’t have. Needless to say we reached a settlement and Kara-O-King survived.” These changes in karaoke affected the PDX area since 2012, and have made hosting karaoke a more professional endeavor. Even still the karaoke scene has continued to be a favorite pastime of PDX partygoers. Now what about the future, what about those karaoke fiends looking to get discovered? Robert wants to know what Oregon has got to bring to this years KWCUSA contest. Recently acquiring the the Oregon State Host (https://www.facebook.com/kwcusa.or) position, singers from contests in Portland, Bend, Eugene, Salem and even Vancouver, WA will battle it out to represent OR in the US Nationals. “The State Finals will be on August 30th at Pyzano’s Karaoke Lounge and the top male and female singers will win airfare and hotel to the nationals. We will begin qualifying competitions June 14th at Pyzanos and run for several weeks as we build team Portland to eventually face off with teams from around the state. BLACK POWDER COUNTY Black Powder County is everything the band's name suggests and more. They have an undoubtedly explosive modern rock feel, while returning to roots of the hard hitting, punchy, raw sounds made famous by bands like Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica, Black Sabbath, and Rose Tattoo. They have a sense of danger and that untamed beauty that was synonymous in bands like Guns n’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, and in Black Powder County’s opinion has been the sound and energy missing for far too long. Their explosive rock sound marks the spot for a new beginning and revitalization from a band of rock & roll brothers united by a unbridled desire & passion toward a suddenly brighter future. Formed in early 2012 Black Powder County is entering its second year with a bang! The band has literally been there and back musically in that short time, and through dedication and perseverance this charged foursome has morphed into a well oiled, fast moving hard rock machine with an incredibly slick sound, the band has come out of it all as a durable and entertaining act in the area. Their Debut Album "The BPC Syndicate", is available now and it is an electrifying compilation of their rock roots with the irresistible guitar riffs, and life relating lyrics. The band has reached new heights, both artistically and commercially, so be watching closely as this band is on the rise. Are you ready for Black Powder County's explosive sound? “We're all looking for a same thing, and after years of playing the pub/club cover scene with other bands, we each needed to scratch that itch of creating our own music, but that meant getting the right group together to achieve that goal. And that happened when we finally found one another and it was an instant click, like a Black Powder explosion" explains the group's lead guitarist "Decoy" who is a transplant here from Australia. "We were looking to get back that same feeling we had when we all first started making music, which was writing and creating our own sound to share, and capturing that elusive feeling of success along the way, and of course the pure joy of making music that people can relate to in one way or another".
The idea behind Black Powder County remains a powerful yet simple one. "There is no gimmick here," explains Vocalist Jake Strasheim. "We set out to create music that we enjoy, and can feel proud of playing music that artists we like would want to listen to, along with the people that want to see Rock revived. We don’t want to be tagged as a copycat or try to want to keep up with the Joneses or conform to somebody else’s ideas of how we should be. That's when you can lose focus. So we've just done what we feel is right, and tried to have a great time doing it." Black Powder County’s sound is defiantly forward-looking and truly fresh in all senses of that word. "Our music is very aggressive, and in your face right out of the gate" says Bass guitarist Manny Narkrong. "There's always been that hard face slapping, wake the hell up and listen element to it, and this band is the first dynamite band that's been around in quite a while”. "We were like a bunch of guys who got together one day and were able to play an assortment of songs with no practice or preparation and have it sound awesome with little effort. That's what it's been like every time we've done something together. We're stoked, like 'Cool, we wrote a kick ass song!' 'Wow, we played another gig!' Maybe that's why this has worked because we love to play and have a feel for it all in a naturally cohesive way! Their Debut EP "The BPC Syndicate" is a rock & roll eulogy with a natural raw feel with sonically inspired edginess. It's a Hard Rock rebirth for a new generation, reflecting the bands influences. Drummer John "Turbo" Leitch states," For us the album we are making has to encapsulate the dynamics of the group, along with the energy & growl, just like we have when we play together live." Black Powder County is also not just all about having fast paced riveting rock tunes, there is definitely room for some ballads for the Ladies too. Vocalist Jake Strasheim states, "The songwriting for the band has taken on a life of its own, as the structures of the songs themselves keep morphing and growing so much from collaboration and creative input from everyone in the group. We have accomplished so much and can use the things we picked up musically to keep the band a well oiled music machine.” Follow the Black Powder Trail as it ignites and blows some Hard Rock right in your face! With just a few simple songs they bring everything that was great about Rock 'n Roll back to life with an explosive modern Rock feel. Classic strains of the hard-hitting raw sounds made famous by the likes of Guns and Roses, Black Stone Cherry, The Cult, The Faces, MC5, Rod Stewart, Velvet Revolver, and The Black Crowes can be heard influencing this bands performance. ...Using all the old great hooks and simple rhythms in new ways. Fast paced with complex writing makes this album soar for a band that has barely gotten itself off the ground. With this well oiled of a machine for a debut release one just knows this band is going places quickly. Obviously schooled in what makes Rock 'n Roll great they have captured the essence of it with an 'In Your Face' presentation of high voltage tunes sure to get you on your feet dancing and singing along wherever you are. “When The Devil Knows Your Name” is a grinding tune that shows off the bands skills very quickly. Eclectic guitars, powerful vocals, heavy driving rhythms, all combine with a well written tune to start off the album. With the “screaming off a cliff” vocal approach the band rips right thru the first tune with a ferocity usually reserved for more mature acts. “Blackberry Wine” is a great song to get ones booty shaking while maintaining a Hard Rock edge. Sure to be a favorite for fans to fill aisles and sunshine filled fields with dancing, booty shaking, and half clothed women. Always a great time to be sure whoever you are. One of the more rhythmic tunes on this album creates a nice atmosphere to remind one why summer exists at all
“Rain” is easily the radio single from this album. Containing all the great sounds that classic rock brings combined with current music sensibilities, the tune fly's between driving music and a more ethereal chorus which modern music fans love. Smartly written and executed it packs an emotional punch while still maintaining the bands ethic of bringing the hard rock to the fore. Sure to be an instant hit for the band I expect to see BPC making a major impact very quickly. .“Ledfoot” is one of those songs that makes you want to be screaming down the highway at 140 miles an hour with the top down, wind blowing, and the heat hot on your tail. Electric, eclectic, and a beat that drives this song at high octane speeds will make you jump straight up out of your seat !! If you can't like this song you don't know what Rock 'n Roll is supposed to sound like. This is simple double-barreled dynamite exploding in your face. Easily the song that sells this band, it is my personal favorite and one I will be enjoying for years to come. An instant classic. Make no mistake, it's time to get your ass up and do the Ledfoot Boogie !!! With only four electrifying songs here this CD will leave you wanting more immediately. I am anxiously awaiting a second release already and this album just came out !! So lets take a look at this cast of characters. On guitars we have Australia's own Tim Deq. A great guitarist with a sloppy style that hits all the right notes yet has that out of control sound that makes Rock 'n Roll what it's supposed to be. Loud, Exciting, and Driven. Classic old-school sensibilities drives his playing along with a style that Mark Bolan would appreciate. This IS what raw Rock guitars are supposed to sound like !! Jake Strasheim is pure gold on vocals. Sounding like he is belting these tunes from a mountaintop while maintaining a distinctive style to his singing makes him a very powerful voice for this ban As soulful and raw as a Rod Stewart or Chris Robinson his voice conveys that feeling of energy and excitement that Rock demands of its singers. Vocally punching thru these tunes Jake has captured something magical in his technique making him a unique vocalist yet still retaining a familiarity people will love. Driving this machine along is Manny Narkrong on bass and Josh Betschart on drums. A pretty awesome pairing here that creates explosive beats and driving rhythms all while maintaining melodic sensibilities to the music. Switching between classic rock styles and more modern sounds they have created an original and yet familiar feel to the tunes presented here. Knowledgeable in Blues, Rock, and Modern music they are able to utilize all these styles to the best effect with this material.
