Press Fanatic is launching its very own downloadable app this winter and here is a quick look at what will be offered. Everything Press Fanatic all in one location.
Macc Milliaon was born March 29th 1989, in Salinas California. He was raised on the eastside of Salinas by his mother who took on the battles of being a single mom trying her best to raise a boy into a man on her own. As a child Macc Milliaon found himself singing for his church choir and school events, although things were not always so easy for him growing up he had always stayed actively participating in music in one form or another. When he started entering his young adolescence he grew older and his skin got tougher. He was a young man when he had been introduced to the streets, where all he could see was drugs, gangs, and violence. Then the trouble started‌ first with the passing of his grandmother at the age of 8 years old. He soon began to experience the life he was introduced and sucked into. After getting into trouble around the age of 10 he became award of the state. He was sentence to do time in a in a juvenile hall facility for six months, then placed into a boy’s home. His mom had gotten into drugs, first as A high-level neighborhood supplier but then later becoming addicted to crack cocaine. He resided and was confined to the group home for two. Due to his ADHD diagnosis and severe depression he was not progressing, which was needed for his release. With his mom and her unfortunate drug problem he could not go home to her. The state agreed to try another avenue for this young man and sent him to live with his father. At 12 years old he was moved once again from the only home he knew being California to a whole new place in Portland Oregon having to leave his mom and 3 siblings behind. Between then and 19 years old he moved back and forth between Cali and the Pacific Northwest. As a teen he wanted more for himself, and after seeing the easy money, lifestyle, and being well known by everyone on the block (Soledad St./Chinatown) due to his mothers heavy role in the game when he was a child he took that step and hit the block himself. The money was fast, the times were crazy but this is what young maccin did to survive‌. Coming from a family of musicians, He has always had a love for music.
He started writing music in high school and has continued to up until now. Macc Milliaon’s main focus has been music for some time now and you can hear his pain, life experiences, and struggles through his lyrics. Now at 26 years old and a father of two boys. He has became more focused and has established himself in the music scene in the Pacific Northwest and in parts of California. Macc Milliaon has linked up with some of Portlands well known Artists, production and music teams such as Cool Nutz (Just Family) B Maja (BME/ B Maja Engineering),Diamond Cut Entertainment where he works alongside with Roulette Delgato, Big Rap (Rappy) and the whole Move Makers Music.INC, JD with D.Sie Music and last but not least YG Mook (NWMG/New West Music Group). He has done many shows and has opened for a few artists including Yukmouth, Rappin 4 Tay, Stevie Joe, Kuzzo Fly, J Stalin, Key Loom, San Quinn, C Bo, Fetti Mac, Killa Tay & More.... He has been working with a lot of underground local artists from Portland, up into Washington, New Mexico and of course California. It was troubles as a child like hustlin, baby momma drama, women, drugs and money‌ that has brought him to where he is now. In some way or another you may relate to the experiences in his life. This is him, how he has lived, and his way of expressing himself to the world. To some people this is just rap and to others this might be a job. But to him this is his life.

Written by: Krystle Roswell Who is Dave Morgan? Dave classifies himself as an Event Coordinator, but he is much more than that. Promoting and booking shows has become his favorite hobby to do in his spare time. He is a father, a friend, but most of all a pleasure to have around and work with. He will help artists book shows in other towns by sending their music and contact information to the network of people he has had the honor of meeting. Along with all the shows he puts on, he also started up a weekly podcast. Dave Morgan started promoting and booking shows almost two years ago. He started off because some patrons at the Old Town Pub (OTP) in Silverdale, WA suggested to him that they wanted to hear live music again, so Dave called up a friend of his that had already been trying to get him into promoting and they worked to get Dave started on this path. When Dave started he had the mindset that this would keep his mind off the events that led to him becoming a regular patron at OTP. Dave kicked off his first show Halloween Night 2013 and blew everyone away with the music and how many people he brought into the show. It was at this point that he fell in love with the music industry. Over the last year and a half, Dave has put together countless shows, and has set an impression to both the artists and other promoters that says this guy loves what he does. In an interview Dave did with his Co-Host Owen Eardley, he was asked, “What has kept you alive, what has kept you through it?” Dave responds with “I have done a lot of shows in the last year in a half… I think what keeps me going is there is always going to be good shows and bad shows, good crowds and bad crowds, and really cool bands to work with… What it boils down to is the musicians giving their support and encouragement that has kept me going.” 11
There are two artists that Dave works with very frequently, and they were asked what makes Dave different from other promoters and what has their experience working with Dave been like. Wyatt Olney states that, "Over the last decade, I have worked with countless promoters. Dave Morgan gives more selflessly to the local music scene than any man I have ever met. When I met Dave, my career was in shambles and venues did not know how to classify me. Too heavy for acoustic shows, too soft for hard rock shows. Dave believed in me. Dave lifted me up and put me on countless stages in front of countless fans off of his belief in my art. The biggest difference between Dave and other promoters, is that he truly cares. He cares about real art, and he cares about musicians being taken care of in a harsh musical economy. He provides young broke bands with killer shows, food and lodging for absolutely nothing in return. He will go broke so that artists don't go hungry. He is truly a hero within the PNW Music scene. I can firmly say that I would not still have a successful music career without Dave Morgan" "Dave is one of my favorite event promoters to work with, he's not only thorough about making sure a show comes off successfully as planned, he is also always working behind the scenes to exceed expectations. Dave's pretty rad."- Saint John of Saint John and the Revelations. When Dave walks through the door to one of his shows his mindset is not on the money, it is focused on the show. He wants to make sure that the artists, venue and customers are all happy with the outcome of his shows. He puts his heart into every show he books. His advice for those who want to get into the music industry through promoting and booking is to; make connections with someone who already knows the business; don’t go into this blindly; screen your artists before booking them; accept constructive criticism; and above all else, don’t skip a step, you have to book the show, promote your show, leave enough time to promote your show, make fliers and put them up, talk to people about your shows and get them interested in telling others about your shows, and don’t take all this on by yourself, get a team together, and understand that there are times that you have to swallow your pride and ask or accept help from others. His last piece of advice for new promoters is if something goes wrong just be open and honest with the artists, they will have more respect for you in the long run.
Dave wants to take his knowledge and skills to eventually open his own venue. He wants this venue to be all ages that will also have a bar, amazing food and plenty of parking for everyone, along with making sure that this future venue is in a location that is accessible for everyone. Until Dave is able to make this dream come true, he has made a home at Mobster Mike’s in Bremerton, WA. To follow Dave Morgan go onto Facebook and either add him as a friend or look up his promotional page at facebook.com\DMPShows. Artists that want to contact Dave and send him their music may do so by emailing their information and music to

FEATURED ARTIST SECTION C.ThaPhenom C.ThaPhenom is the story of a man whose actual name is Clayton Allen Jr. Born in Seattle, Washington, Clayton grew up in a close family atmosphere within his home as well as extended relatives. Clayton's first love with music actually encountered in church as he would often be around live music talents with instruments and vocals as well as the choir. "It was all raw and just flat out live", is the way that he would word it. But suddenly an easy flow of good times and family came to an abrupt end. When Clayton was 8 years old his parents moved south of Seattle to Federal Way, Wa. At first, everything was undetectable as far as he knew. This is until Clayton's mother and father divorced and his life changed for the first time. Now being the oldest in a single mother setting, Clayton went from a child to being held responsible and accountable immediately. He became responsible for not only himself but for his younger sister and brother. His sister being the youngest was often taken care of but his brother had to be with him at all times. "Be in by dark and don't come in without your brother!", was Clayton's first rule. During this time, Clayton also began to find out that he actually liked music so much that he may have had enough taste for it to make his own."I've always been a creative thinker so writing lyrics and rapping and thinking was doing a lot more for me than I thought it was." He began to indulge and make it known that this is what he wanted to do. "I had time on my hands. My mom worked hard and long my whole life living with her so that gave me time to actively find who I was." When Clayton was ten years old, he began to become more accquainted with his Mother's family. To his surprise, his older cousins actually ran an in house studio called Ghetto Savvi Entertainment. Clayton began to express his passion for music with them over a period of time and showing them folders of lyrics that he had wrote himself in his own time, acapella. When Clayton was twelve years old, he was given his first ever recording experience and convinced his family that he could hold his own. "From there on out I haven't looked back since." Working and laboring at his craft through the years, he excelled at a rediculous rate. Writing at home, school or anywhere he was inspired, he was misunderstood by those who didn't understand his connection with his craft. "Its been my only avenue being that I was always in a perdicament with nothing but time on my hands and as I began to find myself, I just kept searching. At 16 years old, Clayton recieved a phone call from his mother saying that his cousin D'vonne Pickett Sr. aka "Young D" had passed. This was another drastic turning point because this was one of the only people who genuinely believed that he could make it. This meant that Clayton would have no easy routes out. Everything from that point on would come out of pure dedication and commitment on account of him. Clayton has persevered through jobs and living situations and still remains just as inspired as he ever was, if not more. "Opposition lets me know that I'm getting to something", he says. "I have to keep moving." Now Clayton is a rapper named C.ThaPhenom and says that he has been a rapper eversince he started at eight. "That's when it counted", he adds. He now represents the principles and morals he grew up on at home while incorporating who he has become since his journey. He is rather an artist with a wide range of musical capabilities and a creative edge that keeps him going. "Real music is timeless so I won't stop." This reflects the ambition and drive inside of him that he will definitely need to be truly successful. 13

We are Respec Gaming Studios, a an up-and-coming game development group that wanted to produce video games for the current market that many gamers of today would enjoy. Currently, we are working on first project which is a “2 vs 2”format 2D Fighting Game called S.H.I.F.T. We began on this project and formed this group during 2013 as the project is still ongoing and we continue to produce more work revolved around it. This group was founded by our CEO, Chris Flournoy, a fighting game enthusiast who have great passion for this genre as he manages our staff and the work we produce to make sure it has the best quality to be used as material for our game. Basically, our group is composed of fellow gamers and fighting game enthusiasts who wanted to take part in working on the video game market and have the same beliefs in making games for gamers, by gamers. Of course, the group has gone through several trials and tribulations during the production and development of this game which is to be expected in. But we somehow managed to get back on our feet as we are determined to see our projects come to fruition. We have managed to gain plenty of positive feedback about the project from many members of the fighting game community and they look forward to see our game finished as well. We have also recruited several supporters who came to help us in various ways, from using their social connections to acquire talent to providing advice for our business decisions, especially coming from our biggest supporter Jason Canty who runs Angry Viking Press. Our CEO isn’t the only who has passion as many of our staff members have equal dedication and reliability as he is such as Mike Long (lead programmers) and Jeremy Benson (lead artist). But this group hasn’t gotten this large and successful without our Community Manager, Adrian Santos. He is our talent scout specialist as he uses his connections and visits to conventions and manages to acquire known talent within voice acting world as well hiring freelancers from artists to programmers. For being a game development that begun on a project without any funds, they have shown an amazing feat for making so many achievements. But with the dedication of our staff and the help of our supporters, we will do what we can in finishing a game so great that many gamers will enjoy. And if that happens, we would like to look forward into the future and hope to produce even more games. Once gain, we are Respec Gaming Studios, a group that produce games for gamer, by gamers.
After the legend known as Dimebag Darrel died, a handful of dedicated fans put together a memorial show in his honor. The response was amazing, and it evolved into an annual event. They decided to donate the funds earned to different local non-profit organizations. I happened to attended one of these events that was donating to Doernbecher Children's Hospital. At the time, I was involved in my kid's PTA as the raffle and auction coordinator. I'm also a huge Pantera and Dimebag fan, so I thought I could help out with getting donations. The next year, I participated in helping raise funds for Rock For Kids. The year after that, I was asked to coordinate the event. I can't remember what it was called in the beginning, all I knew was that I had never hosted a music event before. I was nervous yet excited to take this on. After all, it was a cause that I believed in, honoring Dimebag while giving back to the community. Dimebag was a great man, not only talented but incredibly humble, he was always giving back to his fans, so I wanted to ensure that his legacy lived on. The bands and volunteers that I work with feel the same way and donate their time and talent for this event. Usually for this event, the venues will waive the fees or lower them. I don't make any money on these shows. In fact, I spend money out of my own pocket on fliers, stamps, buying merchandise for the silent auction/raffle, gas, tickets to big name shows, not to mention my time standing in line to get autographs. I do all this in order to provide the best show possible. I am learning new things about the music business each and every year and as a result, the show gets bigger and better every year. It is my passion and this year I am expecting the biggest turn out to date.
I believe it's paramount that children are able to have access to music, no matter what. So I decided to donate the money to local non-profit organizations that would help me accomplish this. Since I took on this task, I have worked very hard to keep it going. One of the main organizations that I have had the pleasure to work with is called Prowus. They are a major supporter of local families who cannot afford a well-rounded education in the arts for their children. In the current situation of public-school funding, the art programs are the first to suffer, which forces parents to look for another source for arts education. This outside source is often above the financial range for many Portland families. Therefore, it is our goal to assist in making music education accessible to all who want it. Operated by a volunteer board who have connections to the music community, Prowus builds their grant fund with proceeds from donations and fund raising events such as the one that I will be hosting this year. Having the show at the Hawthorne Theater is a step up from my previous years of hosting this event. Needless to say, I am a bit nervous but looking forward to a great turn out. The local bands playing this year are Goddamn Acoustic, Strength Keeper, Chronological Injustice, Agnaozia and Stronger Than All. This year, the main auction items that I will be raffling off are: 2 guitars and a bass autographed by Arch Enemy, Kreator, Huntress, Rob Zombie, Revocation, Goatwhore, Witchburn and Fit For An Autopsy. There will also be gift certificates to restaurants, amusement parks, tattoo shops and so much more! To find out more about this years Annual Dimebag Benefit show and PROWUS, follow the links below. FREDDIE LANE Hi! My name is Freddie Lane; I'm 22 years old and from Auburn, Alabama. Music is something I have always been passionate about, even when I was little. In fourth grade I began rapping for fun at recess, and writing poems and raps at the house. I didn't have many friends when I was young, so music was my chance for to express myself. Rapping remained a big part of my life all through junior high to the start of high school, transferring to more public settings, such as locations in the mall like Hot Topic. Once I turned 17, I uprooted to Portland to experience a different culture, and grow as a person. I kept my rapping alive through my first couple years of college, when I made the decision to move music to the forefront of my life, and I have been flourishing in the local scene of Portland ever since. I wanted to end with mentioning my message, but I suppose I don't really have anything clear cut to put down. I just try to spread love and joy with my music, while trying to represent an idea. An idea that you can rise above misfortune and racial barriers, and create the future you want to have.

Xavier Drummer of Darklight Xavier Upshaw was born and raised in Seattle Washington in a family filled with artistic talents. Hip Hop and R&B music filled the halls as he grew up and there was a time where he thought he’d be a rapper himself. When he hit his sophomore year in high school however, he discovered metal. Korn was his “gateway drug” into the genre. It was while flipping through channels on one summer day that Xavier saw the video for “Wait and Bleed” by Slipknot, and it changed the course of his life for good. From that moment on, Xavier was hooked on metal. He thought he might one day play the guitar and purchased a BC Rich Bronze Series Warlock, not knowing that a different instrument was calling. In April 2005, Slipknot came to town with Lamb of God and Shadows Fall. It was after seeing these band live that X decided he needed to play drums. “I thought I’d play guitar when I heard Slipknot, but was really into the drumming,” Xavier remembers, “When I heard Lamb of God’s album Ashes of the Wake, I had to buy a drum kit. The heavy groove of Chris Adler’s drumming was so awesome to me.” After buying a Mapex drum kit in 2006, Xavier found himself in a band after only 2 weeks of playing. He had taken some lessons with Chase Culp (Drummer of The Crying Spell, Point One), but was primarily self taught. X jammed with a few different bands, but didn’t make it to the stage until 2009 with Tasty Lixxx, and then for the 2nd time in 2012 with Underneath The Waves. Three months after their show Underneath the Waves disbanded. It was at this point, Xavier began to consider the possibility that the band/music thing might not work out for him. It was the same week that an old acquaintance had called him up asking if he wanted to jam and possibly start a project. Xavier walked in the band room to play on the first day saying, “So my other band just called it quits.” A couple months later, Darklight played their first show in June 2012. With Shannon (aka Freakshow) and “Little” Ben, Xavier found himself a band that would allow him to explore more of his creativity; taking part in composing the music as well as contributing to the lyrics. Darklight started as a “just for fun” idea, but has become a unique force to be reckoned with in the Seattle music scene; adopting the genre “Baby Makin’ Metal,” a term that a fan used to describe their music. The band released their first CD titled Anomaly in September 2013. In Darklight, Xavier was able to share the stage with Wayne Static, Otep (twice), Thira, Chimaira (one of his favorite bands), and also opened for VH1’s “That Metal Show” live event in Seattle. “If you would have told me 6 years ago that I would be playing with these bands, I would have laughed in your face. Then again if you had told me 16 years ago that I would be a drummer in a hard rock/metal band, I would have thought you were out of your mind,” he says, “I’m really thankful to be doing this and creating something people enjoy. Since I got into the music scene as a fan, I’ve always wanted to be on stage playing music for people.” Currently, his band Darklight is in the process of writing their 2nd album titled “Rage and Serenity.” Aside from drumming, Xavier has the lead role in designing all merch as well as album art for the band. When it comes to music, X hopes to start another project that is a bit heavier, “I’m really into the death metal genres. My skills aren’t quite up there yet, but I’d love to explore something much more aggressive, but still different.” Connect with Darklight Facebook.com/darklightband Reverbnation.com/thedarklightband DarklightOfficial.com (coming soon)

King Rawllie King Rawllie is an independent Hip-Hop artist, born and raised in Tacoma, on September 5th 1987, at St. Joseph hospital in Tacoma Washington. Rawllie was raised by his mother, Roslynn, and is the oldest of 4 children. Music became his outlet for stress at an early age when, due to a decline in his mother’s health, he inherited the responsibility of adulthood. By his teenage years, Rawllie was the provider and caretaker of his family. “I gave up playing basketball to make time to work and take care of the home.” It started with the line “It aint hard to tell.” Recalls Rawllie, “[Nas’] video came on and those words grabbed my attention.” The lyrics to the song reflected his own life, and he began to pay closer attention to the importance of words. He started writing poetry about his life, his prayers, his hopes; He wrote about things he wanted to change. These poems started to transform into songs with the influence of his peers. At the time Rawllie started to get into freestyling with his brothers, and developing his flow, he was faced with another life challenge. He was homeless. He took to the streets, doing whatever he could to get by until 2007, when he moved in with his cousin Oscar. “Oscar made beats. We ended up sitting around and freestyling every day. It was hard for me to talk about myself and how I felt. Freestyling about it distressed me. And I liked it.” Says Rawllie. Rawllie recorded his first song titled “Ballin’ Baby” in 2008. Encouraged by the experience, he wrote and recorded more songs with the intention to continue to advance with his craft. He performed at local events and in 2011 was introduced to Tacoma recording label, Platinum Reign. Rawllie opened for rapper YG in Tacoma, and Seattle along-side Tacoma artist 50 Cow. He received advice from YG’s manager that inspired him to be more involved when it came to managing his own success.
Rawllie recalls praying to God for guidance in 2012. “I had hit rock bottom. I had nothing and nowhere to go and the only thing that provided any kind of relief was music. I could sit there, write and keep myself focused on the possibilities. I felt like God had closed every other door, so that I would clearly see my future in music.” His mother’s health prompted the rekindling of their relationship and he moved in to take care of her. This same year Rawllie met Milly Kartia and together they pushed, and encouraged one another to make their dream become a reality. Vowing to get out of the struggle. For the next two years Rawllie, and Milly learned to produce their own beats, and engineer their music. This determination and desire to improve, not only with his music but in life, prompted the beginning of the lifestyle he describes as “The crash life”. “Living the crash life means to live life ‘all gas no brakes’. Whatever you want, you go for it without hesitation. Raw and gnarly.” The combination of raw and gnarly coined the term “Rawllie”, a phrase he and Milly would say before shows, and soon after he took it as his name. It was his mother’s faith and reminder to follow as a child of God, and to look to himself and see a king. This brought him to be identified as the artist King Rawllie. 2014 Rawllie accompanied Milly to meet with producer Skipp, of Nuq and Skip, and artist PMZ about the possibility of working together. “It was a Saturday when we had our first meeting. The vibe was amazing and we looked at each other, and had this bright idea to join forces and start a super team. He loaded us up with a bunch of beats and that following Saturday I had three songs ready to go. The Saturday after that, I had four. And it’s been going like that ever since.” Today King Rawllie is an artist of Sunset Capitol, an entertainment label, also located in Tacoma, WA. When asked what motivates him to pursue music, Rawllie states; “It’s by the grace of God that my mother is still alive today. She was given 9 months to live 10 years ago. Any day can be her last, and that’s what inspires me to keep going. I want to show my son that with hard work and ambition he can do anything and become his own success. I don’t want them to struggle. I can’t stop. I got a family to feed and a mother to heal and that’s where I’m at with that.” *What are you doing now? Right now I’m working on the business side of music. I’ve got the music, now I’m handling all the paperwork, press kits etc.. *What’s next? What will be coming soon is the release of my first official single “Make it Work.” and my mixtape, “KampFakeWood” to be released early September. *Any shows coming up in August? August 15 I’ll be performing at the Music Fest at The Town on 6th ave in Tacoma. *Who have you worked with? Lil rip and 50 cow. Also, look out for collaborations with Milly Kartia, PMZ and Ohjmarie from Sunset Capitol.

You could say that 23rd & Union was born organically from the small town of Hood River, Oregon. Dave, Randal and Chris grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Each followed their own path with music, developing their unique styles until their paths crossed one night in 2014. Dave Hutch and Chris Woody originally met back in 2007 when Dave tried out for a punk band Chris was drumming for at the time. One night Dave and Chris happened to run into each other at River City Saloon they reconnected through their mutual love of music, shared influences, and their desire to create. Dave had been involved with several other local bands and Chris was a talented punk and metal drummer. They knew they needed a front man to give their project a strong voice and identity. Dave immediately had someone in mind… Randall Jex. Dave had known Randall since high school and knew that his smooth-yet-edgy voice was exactly what they needed to complete their sound. Randal was reluctantto join a band, but despite his trepidation he agreed to join Dave and Chris. The three boys from Hood River wasted no time and began creating music together. In just four short months they had recorded 12 original songs and a fun cover of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’. They hadn’t yet established an identity as a ‘band’, but continued to play and create together, while growing and solidifying their sound and pushing each other to be better musicians along the way. In Spring of 2015, the guys had agreed to play music at a friend’s barbecue on a goat farm. None of them expected anything more than a chance to play together and share their music with family and friends. Another hometown friend, Mike Allen was listening that day and heard something special. Mike had recently co-founded Bottle Cap Productions, a local music management company. It was as if the stars aligned and these four kids from Hood River gave the group the final push they needed to fully realize their band identity, but they needed a name to seal the deal. Chris and Randall both had birthdays that fell on the 23rd and Dave lived on Union St. This simple idea was the perfect namesake for the three small-town guys—nothing pretentious or esoteric, just pure Northwest goodness with an edge. 23rd and Union has a sound very similar to Pepper, Rebelution, and Beautiful girls.

Just a bridgewidth from Portland in beautiful downtown Vancouver, WA the Kiggins is an independently minded, community focused theatre with 300+ seats, a giant red velvet curtain and domed footlights running across the back of the stage. The art-deco design and Tristian Spillman, the regular host, has a slightly campy demeanor that gives the venue a fun, retro style. It is once month, with 3-4 comics performing shorter sets and a headliner on for 20 to 30 minutes. They do a good job of providing variety in their booking, but tend towards more experienced comics especially with their headliners, which is reflected in the audience also being a little older. Comedy Night @ Kiggins Theatre* is a traditional comedy showcase in a pleasant atmosphere, intended for ages 21 and over as beer and wine is available, however you should feel safe inviting friends and family to this light-hearted good time.
