Maritime Art, Models & Militaria P
ridham’s is pleased to present our fall Maritime Art, Models & Militaria sale. This sale will feature the lifetime collection of the late Captain Philippe Iskander Georges. Captain Georges was born in Heliopolis, Egypt, in 1937. He attended James Watt Nautical College in Scotland and later Warsash Maritime Academy, Southampton, to attain his master mariner qualification. Captain Georges was at sea for 17 years travelling to every corner of the globe: from the Far East to Scandinavia, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. On coming ashore in 1969, he continued his career with Saguenay Shipping in Montreal, and later with Canadian Pacific. Known as Phil, he was a lover of antiques and an avid collector of maritime paintings and memorabilia. Captain Georges was a larger than life personality and passed away in 2020. His collection will include some exceptional ship models, half hulls, paintings, and related memorabilia. He always hoped his collections would advance the awareness and appreciation of maritime life. Along with the Georges collection, Pridham’s is pleased to offer other fine inclusions from like-minded collectors in the marine and military collecting areas.

Each lot is sold “AS IS” and “WHERE IS”. | Chaque item est vendu “TEL QUEL” et “OÙ IL EST”. 3. The descriptions are provided to help move along the process on auction day. No warranty regarding the descriptions, age or condition is made or implied. Additionally, under the Conditions of Sale applicable to the sale of any lot, buyers must satisfy themselves as to each and every aspect of the quality of the lot, including and without limitation, its authorship, attribution, condition, provenance, authenticity, age, suitability and origin. Lots are sold on an ‘as is’ basis, but the actual condition of the lot may not be as good as indicated by its outward appearance. In particular parts may have been replaced or renewed and lots may not be authentic or of satisfactory quality. 4.
