WRITING 1: OPINION: GOING BACK TO SCHOOL Day 1 ORAL work (30 minutes) and WHOLE GROUP task (30 minutes): TASk 1 The teacher will ask the students if they like going back to school and will ask them to say some reasons. Then, we will read the sample text together to see why some students like going back to school. After reading, the teacher will ask the students if they know which sentence can be the opening of the text. Then they will say how many reasons there are and finally the teacher will ask for the closing sentence to finish the text. TASK 2 Teacher and students will work on the planning and on the sample test going back and forth (from the key word to stretch out the sentences and the opposite). The whole class will take out the planning out from the sample text. Day 2 ORAL work (30 minutes) Presentation of “Going to the cinema�: They will have to think about another topic following the same pattern of organization talking about GOING TO THE CINEMA (Opening: I like going to the cinema. Going to the cinema is fun because I eat popcorn. I also like watching films. I enjoy going with my friends. (etc). I love the cinema and I look forward to going back. ) We will present the word bank and give them a Planning worksheet. Then, the students will have to fit their ideas about the topic following the established structure: Opening Reasons Ending Day 3 FINAL WRITING : GOING TO THE CINEMA Students will have to create their final writing from the planning they made up the previous session. The students will have to stretch out the sentences paying attention to their planning and write a short text. They will choose an opening. Then, they will add the three reasons. And finally they will choose an ending. After it they will draw a picture.
