Pöttinger’s new Jumbo 7000 loaderwagon Manitou Group expands telehandler range

The Jumbo’s unloading performance has been increased

Pöttinger’s new Jumbo 7000 loader wagon comes with a host of innovations for improved harvesting efficiency

Two steps

ahead

Pöttinger says that all of the core components of its new Jumbo 7000 loader wagon have been redesigned and engineered for tractors outputting up to 500 horsepower (373kW).

To keep forage clean, the seven-row controlled floating pick-up with a working width of 2,300mm ensures maximum performance for tidy and loss- free collection in a single pass, says Pöttinger. The pick-up’s new hydraulically adjustable drive system adapts the speed automatically to the driving speed, to create less of a dragging effect, which improves the chopping quality. The jockey wheel steering system can be engaged to enable even better ground tracking.

The pick-up position control, which is supplied as standard, keeps the cross-section of the opening between pick-up and drawbar constant to ensure maximum throughput during the entire loading process. The tines, which are controlled in a sweeping arc by the cam track, convey the crop gently upwards and actively transfer it to the rotor at a suitable speed. Instead of dragging the forage through, this helps improve chopping quality. The tines then dip down at a right angle to prevent the forage from being drawn in.

The Powercut short-length chopping system has an asymmetric array of 48 knives and a theoretical chopped length of 34mm. The long arc of the knives delivers a slicing cut along the full length of the blade. The knife bank release system – handled without the need for tools – and the central knife release system are operated conveniently using a control panel to the side. The knives are also sharpened on the wagon via the Autocut system.

A new unloading beater driveline delivers 210kW and unloading capacity has been increased by another third so unloading takes just one minute.

Three predefined modes can be selected for loading, ranging from light loading to medium compression to high compaction. The scraper floor has been lowered at the front by 250mm to reduce the power required during loading. This also increases the net payload due to higher compaction.

TELEHANDLER

Manitou Group is expanding its NewAg XL telehandler range with the high-performance MLT 961-160 V+L model for intensive applications

Weight lifter

Manitou Group’s latest telehandler can handle loads of up to six tonnes, with a lifting height of 9m. Intended for large farms, cooperatives, agro-industry and waste disposal sites, the MLT 961-160 V+L will be available in Australia with a Stage IIIA engine.

This produces 156 horsepower (418kW), delivering 805Nm of torque at 1,350 rpm and a hydraulic flow of 200 litres per minute. A new 4,500 litre bucket, which has been specifically designed and approved for the new MLT 961-160 V+ L, has a width of 2.7m, which is wider than the machine. This allows users to avoid driving over the material while increasing work output, says Manitou Group.

The CVT M-Vario Plus transmission offers the user the choice of two modes with a maximum speed of 40km/h. Comfort mode provides a smooth ride for more precision and dynamic mode generates faster acceleration for greater productivity. The drawbar pull has also improved, increased by more than 30 per cent compared with the previous MLT 961 version.

“The new engine delivers 10 per cent more power than the previous version and a torque increase of 50 per cent,” says Manitou Group product manager Arnaud Sochas.

“Combined with the high-capacity 4,500-litre bucket, this comprehensive machine/attachment solution ensures a very high work output in the most intensive loading and recovery applications.”

To achieve even greater gains, the HighView camera option, fitted to the boom head, allows the operator to see inside the trailer to optimise filling operations.

The cabin reduces noise levels to just 69 dbA, for a quiet operator environment. Safety features include lighting under the door, which improves visibility on the Easy-Step when getting in and out of the driver’s cabin, and the cabin has been repositioned higher up for an optimal view.

Available optionally or as standard on the Platinum finish, a new adaptive air suspension

seat with heating and electric lumbar adjustment reduces vibrations by more than 50 per cent, says the company. To further reduce fatigue, the JSM Autopower function allows the operator to control the engine speed directly with the joystick without using the accelerator pedal or the manual accelerator. Specific storage spaces are provided, including a tool box fitted under the cabin for easier access.

Dealer can carry out diagnostics remotely, so users benefit from improved service and have better control over the costs related to the use of their machine. In addition, Manitou Group offers a comprehensive range of services associated with this model, including a maintenance contract on all parts or even a warranty extension of up to six years or 6,000 hours.

Maintenance is simplified with a rapid-opening cleaning hatch in front of the radiator. To reduce maintenance costs, an integrated air pre-filter is positioned on the engine hood and hydraulic oil change intervals are now 2,000 hours. Options such as Ecostop (configurable automatic engine stop) and the centralised automatic greasing system are also available.

The MLT 961 NewAg XL model is available in four levels of finish: Classic, Premium, Elite and Platinum.
