Thoughtful Tidbits Writen By:

Shay Rivers

Everyone is so quick to say "you don't know what you got until it's gone"When speaking in reference to loosing something or someone good.

This expression has always confused me. I don't know about you but......

Why must one have to be without that something good to realize it wasn't worth loosing to begin with?Kind of silly if you ask me. Is it not possible to realize what you have while you still got it? Of course it is but for one main reason many have lost out on good relationships and jobs. Many get so comfortable in their situation that they no longer feel the

need to do the things they once did to obtain the relationship, friendship, job...whatever. Like once you got what you were working for effort is no longer needed. When in fact you should be working just as hard if not harder. You should NEVER get too comfortable. There is always someone working to take your place and just waiting on the moment YOU mess it up.

Published By 3Macs And A Nerd Productions 2016

Don't appreciate your mate? Cool someone else will. Tired of working? Fine, someone without work been looking for a job for months. Simple as that, what you won't do someone else will. "What one person didn't appreciate the next one will" Always remember that....

Hearty & Healthy

Blogger Oh Happy Day! created this bagel and cream cheese bar for a low-stress party where guests can serve themselves. From BLT to pistachio and honey, the toppings are endless.

(BPT) - In the heat of summer, a homemade brunch can seem like a daunting task, but don't let that stop you from entertaining. Everything from scrambled eggs to pancakes to coffee cake require a hot oven or stove and can weigh heavy in your stomach on a hot day. When the last thing you want to do is turn on the oven or eat a heavy meal, follow these easy no-bake brunch hacks to keep cool and have a delicious brunch on the table all summer long. Made-to-order smoothies

Summer calls for fresh, seasonal produce whizzed into a chilled smoothie. Choose a few recipes ahead of time and give guests the option to select from the ingredients available. For a more filling smoothie, add protein powder, oats or peanut butter. Hint: Skip the tedious task of cleaning the blender between each smoothie by borrowing blenders from friends and family so each recipe has its own. Plus, multiple blenders allow the option to blend more than one smoothie at a time.

Bagel bar with toppings Guests will love this hands-on approach to brunch, and hosts will love this hands-off approach to entertaining. Simply plate a variety of bagels and fill the table with cream cheese and pre-sliced toppings like fruits, veggies and herbs. Hint: Trade regular baking cream cheese for something you can feel good about sharing with your family and guests: Arla cream cheese, which is made with only four core

ingredients - milk, cream, cheese culture and salt. That way, the only added ingredients at brunch are the ones guests choose from the toppings table. Don't forget to put out a toaster (or two) to give guests the option to toast or not toast, and let the rest happen naturally. For additional goodness, serve the bagels with seasonal fruit, both for enjoying on its own and for dipping into extra Arla cream cheese.

Make-ahead yogurt parfaits Rest easy knowing everything is taken care of with make-ahead yogurt parfaits. Find decorative plastic cups at any party store for easy cleanup, then layer plain or vanilla yogurt, fresh fruit and crunchy toasted nuts and coconut. Change up the flavors in some of the parfaits so guests can choose their favorites. If picky eaters are in attendance, top a few parfaits with

chocolate sprinkles for a more enticing (and good-for-them) treat. Hint: Granola is a tasty topper for parfaits, but can get soggy if left overnight. To avoid, toss on the granola minutes before the party begins. At any brunch, coffee is a must. For a cooler approach, provide an iced coffee option alongside chilled orange juice and iced tea. Join newly single, twenty something, Evie on a series of first-date misadventures in an effort to find her A.D.A.M. (A down-right amazing man!) It had been about two months since Evie saw John. She was out on a “play date” with her chronically platonic friend, Reggie. They had been friends since middle school and he has always been her ear whenever she needed to talk or vent. Reggie and Evie have held each other down through seven breakups, 10 crazy hookups, and 4 arrests. There was no friendship like theirs, but somehow their friendship was a problem for the people they dated. Maybe it was because they went out on “play dates,” which they would treat like any other date, minus the touchyfeely kissing and the sex. There was never any of that with Evie and Reggie. That rule was deeply established YEARS ago. When they were in the 7th grade, Reggie and Evie met and became fast friends. After a few months, and the prodding of their mutual friends, Reggie tried to kiss Evie under the bleachers at a basketball game. Evie quickly slapped Reggie’s face and reminded him that they are friends. “And if you want to continue to be my friend, this will NEVER happen again.” Reggie never tried to kiss Evie again, as his face was hurting pretty bad; throb-

bing in fact. It was at that moment he decided that he’d rather have Evie as a friend than an enemy. He brought them popsicles from the concession stand and watched her eat hers as he used his to heal his reddish cheek. Evie and Reggie were out on a “play date” when they ran into John. He was dating a new girl. By the looks of it, she barely graduated high school. They stopped and spoke for a few moments, exchanging pleasantries, until John’s date, the toddler, exclaimed that she needed to find a bathroom. John escorted her into the nearest store, but quickly returned to Evie. Reggie ran off to grab the car and she stood under a single streetlight, leaning against the pole, checking Facebook in her teal dress and heels. John tapped her on the shoulder and Evie spun around quickly, slapping him square in the face. “OW!” John shouted. Evie quickly apologized, noting that she assumed she was under attack from some strange person. After they laughed it off, John pulled a folded note from his pocket and handed it to Evie. She looked at the small note quizzically before looking back into

Chasing A.D.A.M.

John’s eyes. “What’s this?” John explained that he wrote a letter to her the day after they last saw each other. He’d been keeping the note in his wallet just in case he saw her again. Today is your lucky day, Evie thought to herself. John looked handsome as always, but it bothered Evie that he doesn’t know the relationship between Reggie and her, but he decided to try and approach her anyway. Normally that would be an immediate turn-off, but this situation calls for a bit more research. Reggie pulled up to the curb where Evie was standing with John. He hopped out, ran around, and opened the door for Evie, causing John to step aside. Once she was in, Reggie extended his hand to shake John’s. When John extended his hand, Reggie pulled him in and reminded John that Evie is loved. “She doesn’t need to be hurt a second time, man.” Reggie hopped into the driver’s side of his soot grey Jaguar. He cracked the windows and pulled off into the night, leaving John to welcome his Elementaryaged date back from the restroom.

Tips to get family photos you want to keep forever Give the gift that ages gracefully (BPT) - If you're like most people, images of your family are probably languishing on your smartphone or tucked away in the closet on an old computer. If you take a break from the selfies and invest in the time to hire a professional photographer, you'll end up with beautiful family portraits that capture and preserve the love, affection and expressions that are unique to your family. These photographs are your gift to yourself, your children and generations to come. Here are some tips from Professional Photographers of America (PPA) on how to get memorable family photos that stand the test of time. Choose a style that reflects your family Sounds obvious? Not that

simple. Think about your family's unique personality, then find a photographer who has experience taking pictures similar to what you would like to display in your home. What environment brings out your family's unique personality? Is it a park, a beach, an urban setting? Maybe it's as simple as your own living room or backyard. Find your family's photo style by taking the quiz at PPA.com/Quiz. Begin with the end in mind Before your photo session, think about and discuss where and how your photos will be displayed in your home, and think about the story you want to tell. Do you have a tall, skinny spot above your fireplace for a single, iconic image of your family? Or do you have a large wall where

you want to start a family gallery? Perhaps you'd like a coffee table album? Whether you want to dress up a large wall or you want a collection of images, your photographer will know which type of session will give you the images you'll be proud to display in your home. Dress for success These printed photos will be around for a long time. In 20 years, you'll want your photos to create warm feelings and happy memories of your loved ones - without the cringing and giggling over dated styles. The goal of any fine portrait is to direct the viewer's eye to the face in the portrait. So when choosing outfits, pick simple, solid colors and classic, timeless styles rather than hot trends and busy patterns.

Issue 7 - July 2016 - Primo Fashions USA |

Use props and pets If you have an accessory that helps express your family's unique personality, add it. If your preschooler won't go anywhere without his superhero cape, let him wear it. Shared hobbies and interests can go in here too. If you're a family of readers, having everyone pose with their favorite book can add a personal touch. And, of course, including your family pet is a great way to show the special bond you have with your dog or cat and capture the spirit and beauty of your furry pal forever. Relax and go with the flow Part of having your portraits created is the "experience" of the session. Yet, all

too often, parents get worked up when their child isn't looking at the photographer or smiling "right." This causes anxiety in the child and robs the photographer of good opportunities for candid portraits. So before the shoot, rest well and come well fed. You'll want to be in the best possible mood as it helps set the tone for your family. Once on set, relax, smile, and have fun. Seasoned family portrait photographers know how to make you and your children feel comfortable so they can capture the love, affection and expressions that are unique to your family. Hire a pro Everyone is taking pictures these days, and just about

anyone clicking a shutter may be lucky enough to land a good shot once in a while. You will be much happier with your photos, though, if you choose a photographer who can consistently produce great images. A professional photographer will have the artistic skills, technical training and experience taking the kind of photos you want. Plus, they will be able to provide you with printing options that will withstand the hardship of time and won't fade like most home-printed photos. To find a family portrait photographer in your area, visit PPA.com/ FamilyPhotographers.

Experts & Advice

Get the facts about prenatal nutrients and their connection to healthy pregnancy outcomes (BPT) - Although having a baby is one of the most significant events a woman may experience, nearly half of the babies delivered in the U.S. each year are the result of unplanned pregnancies.[1] That means many babies are born to women who did not engage in pre-pregnancy planning or discussions with their health care providers. Even among planned pregnancies, women may often not find out they are pregnant until they are about four to six weeks along.

es of a pregnancy, especially in the baby's brain and spinal cord. Achieving ideal vitamin and nutrient levels, ensuring adequate intake of folic acid, is important for reducing birth defects. Consequently, women planning to conceive or who may already be in the prenatal period need to understand the importance of proper nutrition in pregnancy and the role that vitamins and supplements can

"There are several important steps that women can take before becoming pregnant to help reduce the risks of pregnancy complications and birth defects," says Mark de Fazio, M.D., FACOG, de Fazio Obstetrics & Gynecology, Brooklyn, New York. However, many women don't realize they are pregnant until it is too late to reduce these risks, particularly among women with increased risk factors including diabetes, malabsorption syndromes or a family history of birth defects.[2] Women of child-bearing age should speak to their health care providers about pregnancy plans and about what they should do before becoming pregnant to address their specific risk factors. Significant cell, organ growth and development occur in the early stag-

play in helping them optimize their nutrient levels. The need for various nutrients, including folic acid, iron and calcium, increases throughout the course of a woman's pregnancy and may not be met through a healthy diet alone. In fact, a deficiency in folic acid, the synthetic form of folate and a form of B vitamin that can be found in leafy

vegetables and fortified cereals,[3] has been tied to an increased risk of spina bifida, a neural tube defect (NTD), which is a birth defect involving the spinal cord.[4] The neural tube is formed very early; defects can occur within the first six weeks of pregnancy. Mteryti folic 5 is an effective twostep MultiVitamin / MultiMineral supplement regimen specifically formulated for use in women at higher risk of having a baby with an NTD. Mteryti folic 5 contains 5 mg of folic acid. If medically necessary, Mteryti folic 5 should be used two to three months prior to pregnancy and continued until 10 to 12 weeks of gestation. After 10 to 12 weeks of gestation, health care providers may recommend continuing supplement use with Mteryti, which contains 1.1 mg of folic acid. Both Mteryti folic 5 and Mteryti are uniquely formulated in a morning and nighttime dosing schedule that allows for better absorption of key nutrients. Women without an increased risk for having a baby with an NTD can make sure they are achieving sufficient levels of folic acid and other important nutrients by taking Mteryti. Mteryti can be used 2-3 months prior to conception, throughout pregnancy and during the postnatal period. Mteryti folic 5 and Mteryti are recommended for use under the supervision of a healthcare professional. The Experts Say... So, what do the experts recommend to all mothers-to-be out there? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that women who take the recommended daily dose of folic acid starting at least one month before conception and during the first trimester of pregnancy can reduce their baby's risk of neural tube defects by 50 to 70 percent.4 "Even with the most careful plan-

ning, a woman may not obtain the vitamins and nutrients needed during a pregnancy simply through diet. To best prepare for a healthy pregnancy, it is advised for women to start taking a prenatal multivitamin, containing the recommended folic acid levels, two to three months before getting pregnant to have the necessary reserves for the baby's developmental needs," adds Dr. de Fazio. If you are planning a pregnancy, are pregnant or currently breastfeeding, see a health care provider for an assessment of your overall health and your medical and family history. For more information about Mteryti, Mteryti folic 5 and planning your healthy pregnancy, please visit www. mteryti.com. WARNING: Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under six. Keep this product out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately. Women who consume healthful diets with adequate folate may reduce their risk of having a child with birth defects of the brain or spinal cord. Public health authorities recommend that women consume 0.4 mg of folic acid daily from fortified foods or dietary supplements, or both, to reduce the risk of neural tube defects. The safe upper limit of daily intake value for folic acid is 1,000 mcg (1 mg). This product exceeds the DV (1,000 mcg) of folic acid. Folate intake should not exceed 250% of the DV (1,000 mcg). However, Mteryti® and Mteryti® folic 5 tablets may be appropriate for some women under a health care professional's supervision. *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Smart Jewelry: The fashion-forward way to stay connected consumers. Watches, rings and pendants go high-tech, combining beauty with technology (BPT) - Jewelry has signified the bonds between people since the ancient Egyptians created the wedding band. But the digital revolution is quickly converting jewelry from a symbol of connection to wireless

ways to stay connected. Rings, watches, pendants - even cufflinks - have been transformed into miniature electronic devices that keep us in touch with people, including ourselves. This merger of fashion and function is catching on fast with

According to Gartner Inc., an information technology and research advisory firm, purchases of wearable smart devices will increase 16 percent in 2016, with smartwatch sales alone predicted to rise a whopping 66 percent. The wearable device trend took off a decade ago, primarily for fitness.

Today, nearly all the major tech companies compete in the smartwatch market, including Apple, Google, Microsoft, Motorola and Samsung. Meanwhile, some traditional watchmakers - such as Tag Heuer - have developed their own high-tech timepieces. Top designers are also collaborating with high-tech developers to create smart rings, bracelets, necklaces

Protect smart investments Since smart jewelry could be a major jewelry investment - second only, perhaps, to an engagement ring - it's important to adequately protect it with insurance. Most homeowners insurance policies cover jewelry to some extent. In many cases, however, your coverage may be limited. Plus, a jewelry claim could affect the status of your entire policy. That's why it's important to evaluate your insurance options. Typical warranties and protection plans won't reimburse you if your smart jewelry disappears under mysterious circumstances - meaning you're not sure whether it was lost or stolen. The best jewelry insurers, such as Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, a leader in jewelry insurance since 1913, will cover loss in such circumstances. They will also repair or replace the item through the jeweler or manufacturer of your choice and a loss. If you're someone who appreciates socially responsible companies, there's another reason to look up Jewelers Mutual. This summer, the company is making news by offering $2 million in donations to nonprofits that fight hunger, provide affordable housing and deliver medical research and exceptional care to kids battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. As part of its "Band Together" campaign, Jewelers Mutual is inviting consumers to select which cause

receives the largest share of its unprecedented philanthropic gift. For everyone who casts votes at JewelersMutual.com/BandTogether from July 11-31, this campaign offers more than the chance to help their favorite nonprofits. Every individual who answers the call to "Band Together" online will be eligible to win a set of three stacking bands from Stacked New York. Three exquisite sets will be given away during the campaign. While, the bands are not the kind equipped with smart technology, they are a smart fashion choice and symbolize the timeless bonds that connect people to something bigger than themselves.

Yoga 101: How to get started with this accessible, balanced form of exercise (BPT) - More than half of all Americans exercise regularly, according to a 2015 Gallup poll, but there's still room for most people to improve their fitness. Even if you're exercising a few times a week, that may not meet recommended activity levels. If you're looking for a type of physical activity that fits easily into your lifestyle, delivers physical and mental health benefits, yet is gentle enough to be done every day, yoga may be what you're looking for. "Yoga delivers countless health

benefits, including stress reduction, improved blood circulation, flexibility and strength," says Ashley Kohler, manager of Yoga on the Lake, part of Destination Kohler, the five-star, five-diamond resort in Kohler, Wisconsin. "Doing yoga just three times a week can help you sleep better and reduce symptoms of many chronic diseases like arthritis, diabetes and thyroid disorders." If you've never considered yoga, or have thought of it but weren't sure whether it's for you, Kohler offers some insights into how yoga works and the benefits it offers: * Any age is right - Yoga is good for people of every age, from children to senior citizens. In fact, many studios offer classes for new moms and their infants to help mother's post-childbirth recovery and facilitate bonding between Mom and baby. Its benefits for older demographics are also widely

recognized, from helping improve balance and flexibility, to gently improving muscle tone and strength. * You can jump right in - While many people will enjoy a one-onone experience with a certified yoga instructor, it's not necessary to take private lessons before joining a class. Studios like Yoga on the Lake offer a variety of beginner-friendly classes, as well as individual lessons for those who want a more private setting for learning the basics, or who want to work on specific personal goals. * Yoga is great for varying levels of physical ability - You should always consult your doctor before beginning any new fitness routine, especially if you have existing health conditions. That said, yoga is accessible to people of virtually all fitness levels, from those who are starting out sedentary to people who are very physically active. You don't have to be particularly flexible to get started, either; yoga gives you flexibility. And for yoga enthusiasts, yoga sculpt formatted classes provide a high-intensity yoga option. * It's about more than just improving flexibility - Better flexibility is probably one of the best-known benefits of yoga but it's far from the only one. Ultimately, yoga aims to bring together the mind, body and spirit in healthful physical activity. * Fast a few hours before class - Attempting yoga on a full stomach could lead to discomfort and cramps, so try to avoid eating an hour or two before class begins.

* Start from a place of love - "You'll go farther, faster if you take a loving attitude toward yourself and work from where you are, not from where you think you should be," Kohler advises. Don't feel pressured to perform as well as anyone else in the class. Do as much as you're able without straining or injuring yourself. * Leave distractions outside the studio - Leave cell phones and pagers in the locker room or your car; never bring them to your yoga mat. Yoga studios are also typically quiet environments in order to foster relaxation and peace, so try to leave socializing and business outside. * Yoga can be a vacation from the everyday - "Many people who practice yoga regularly view it as their 'me time,'" Kohler says. "It's a break from the demands of the everyday." Resorts like Destination Kohler offer active travelers the opportunity to immerse themselves in a truly soothing, spiritually renewing environment with a spa, yoga studio and other relaxing amenities such as golf and nature trails. Step up your summer beauty regimen with help from expert dermatologists (BPT) - While magazines make summer beauty look simple, in reality it's anything but. From bloat to breakouts, summer is wrought with beauty challenges.

product. Whether in the form of a lotion, spray or done as a professional service at a salon, sunless tanning offers a safe alternative to both tanning beds and sunbathing.

The experts at the Mayo Clinic offer advice on eight of the most common beauty and health concerns of summer.

2. Ingrown hairs Swimsuit season often means shaving more frequently, which can result in painful and unsightly ingrown hairs. These hairs grow out of the skin slightly and then curl back underneath the skin. To avoid ingrown hair, use a lubricating shave gel followed by a sharp, single-blade razor. Shave in the direction of hair growth and avoid pulling the skin taut.

1. Maintaining a healthy (natural) glow While tanning beds offer a quickfix to achieving a golden glow, they also cause exposure to damaging UV radiation which can cause premature aging as well as increase the risk of skin cancer.
