But many Rotarians do not have the same pride and ownership of the Foundation’s Endowment Fund and Annual Fund. We are still falling short of our goal of Every Rotarian,

And when every one of us donates to The Rotary Foundation, it truly becomes our Foundation – and we all share the pride in the good that it does.

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL This is why we have Every Rotarian, Every Year. And this is why our goal for the Annual Fund in 2013-14 is US$120 million, which represents a donation from every Rotarian, averaging $100 each. If we want the freedom to be ambitious in our service, we must know that we have a strong Foundation supporting us. And if we want to know that Rotary will endure, we need a strong Endowment Fund – for whatever lies ahead.

and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

This Month’s Theme is The Rotary Foundation and to celebrate this month, I thought of something apt to celebrate this month. Hence, came up with The Rotary Foundation Banquet which is the first time to be held in District 3790. The objective of holding this event is to recognize the benevolent acts of all donors to TRF this Rotary Year in an exclusive event called the “Foundation Banquet”. AG Rouel Reyes accepted the responsibility to host the First Rotary Foundation Banquet in D3790. He supported the idea and committed the involvement of Cluster 3C in this endeavour. The efforts of the organizing committee were relentless and their hard work paid off as this District event was successfully held. D3790 is one of the most recognized districts in terms of notable Rotary works carried out over the years mostly funded by TRF because of the very good support we also give to the Foundation. To all our Club Presidents and Club Foundation Chairs, I wish to believe that you remember and are able to share some of the salient points mentioned in several talks on how and why we support our Rotary Foundation, that you can change lives of the less fortunate people locally and globally. I men-

(P88) per week to the Annual Fund this Rotary year. Your contributions enable the advancement of world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty. For almost 100 years, The Rotary Foundation has lived its motto: Doing Good in the World. Appreciate the global impact of the Foundation’s financial support. Donations to The Rotary Foundation make it possible for Rotary clubs to tackle some of the world’s most pressing needs. Members & Money or M & M is the backbone of all that the Rotary Foundation depends upon to achieve the goals of polio eradication, completion of sustainable humanitarian grants and the support of scholarships.

tioned several times during my Official Club visits, that giving to the foundation need not only come from the Rotarians’ pockets. One strategic way to get support is make time to talk to your friends, professional colleagues and business partners. Share to them about your good deeds as a Rotarian. Explain why you contribute to support the Rotary Foundation. Ask them to share a bit of their blessings to the foundation. Rotarians are rich of friends, have good connections, resourceful and have brilliant ideas. Take advantage of this opportunity; engage them to be part in changing lives. Make it clear that all voluntary Let us remember what our giving represents: contributions are valued. RY 2013-2014 Rotary leaders - RI, District and Club levels are called First Class … as according to RI Pres. Ron Burton… leaders should act as model to their followers…. In TRF contribution…. Give first.... so as to motivate members to follow you. You do not need to be rich, to become first class…. Your good attitude towards Contribution to TRF will make you first class. Now is the time to set and achieve our goal of giving a minimum of $100 (P4,400) or $2

We give to the Polio Eradication program which needs our support now more than ever.

This contribution on all of our parts will come back to our District and clubs to further help us do the work of “Service Above Self” in our communities and the world, and will truly make each of us “Engage Rotary, change We give to the Rotary Foundation to strength- Lives” en our communities with worthwhile needed projects. Hundreds of textbooks were handed down and what great opportunity for the heads of this said school to have these books to guide, train and instruct the Aeta children. A project that we can consider to be a fruit of the labors of our Rotaracts and Interacts under the sponsorship of RC Angeles Kuliat. They did the planning, programming, scheduling and inviting delegates from all the public and private schools of Angeles City. The call of leadership was truly enhanced for they were able to stage this affair smoothly and effectively. Aside from the talks on

leadership, the program was simultane-ously followed with the Impromptu Speech Contest. The audience, mostly students and teachers were so im-pressed with the wisdom and capability of the contestants. Topics on leadership were expounded on top of their ability to relay their ideas to impress the members of the Board of Judges. With the Model speech of the RC Angeles Kuliat the audience brought home the true values of becoming a leader for today and for the rest of their lives.
