These girls are the BADDEST in the game right now. 2NE1 is telling the world that Kpop can get down. 2NE1 is managed by YG Entertainment, which reps other artists like BIG BANG, se7en, and Gummy. Their music is a mix of hip hop, r&b, and good ol’ korean pop, which is probably why these girls are blowing up in the United States. MTV even gave them a IGGY award for ‘Best New Band In The World’. That’s pretty good for a band that just has two albums out. Check out 2NE1’s first mini album and also their 2nd mini album. It can be found on amazon, itunes, or online. We are telling you to cope this album. Don’t be the last to know.

RICH WHISKEY
This is RICH WHISKEY. They are a local (757) band and they are awesome. Print went to a show , met, up. Beware, they might become your new favorite band...
Rich Whiskey Rocks. After seeing them live, and chatting them up, we’ve decided... Best Band in Town! Where does the name Rich Whiskey come from? Honestly there not much meaning behind it. It was one of those situations where we put names on a piece of paper and put it in a hat, pick three out, and those three came out. We’re actually just by Rich Whiskey, we kind of killed audition. Tell me about your performances, they are off the chain. Where does the energy come from? The energy for me comes from the group and the people in the audience. If the people in the audience have a lot of energy, that’s just going to make us go even harder. Tell me about your show, what does the band during the show incorporate; such as lights and props or do ya’ll just rock out? It differs sometimes. Its based off the crowd. We use a lot of humor in our stage banter. We try to incorporate comedy. Tell me about the extensive playlist? No spice I see! Everybody comes from different backgrounds. So we try to hit a bit of everything. We do play spice girls; we play wannabe.
So who picks the songs you’re going play nightly? Everybody does. Some bands traditionally go off a certain set list. If were feeling it from the crowd we’ll play that style of music. So like spirit of the moment. So I know you’re a cover band, but are you thinking about doing your own songs? or do you do your own music? We just started making our own music. It’s a mixture of rock and pop. Tell me about your best and worst things about playing at a bar and club setting? Smoking rooms and drunk people. Drunk people at the end of the night want you to understand them but we can’t. Sometimes we do have barriers to separate us from them. Tell me about the craziest bar fan you had? A homeless guy came into the bar and folded up a napkin filled with potty fluids and I’ll leave it at that. What’s your favorite song to perform? Morris day and the times, Melodies we play, like the hip hop songs. Also, when we play holy diver, kill switch engage version. If the world was invested with zombies what two weapons you’d bring? Mike and Scott Visit our FACEBOOK for more photos of Rich Whiskey
If you had super powers what super powers would you have? X ray vision, and the power to UN-impregnate women.

HAMPTON R O A D S T A T TO O ART FESTIVAL
The Hampton Roads Tattoo Fest, made possible by Twisted Ink Magazine and Folk City Tattoo was everything and more. Vendors from up and down the east coast made it to Hampton to show off their tattoo shops, art, and events. The fest featured live bands, wrestlings, and contests everyday of the festival. Our favorite part was actually the suspending show put on by Team TDH, in which they suspended their entire bodies off the ground by hooks in their skin. Woah. As we walked around, we noticed how much of the crowd that came to the show weren’t just people with tattoos, but families with small children, teenagers, older people, blacks, whites, asians, goths, and preps. It seemed like the festival was just the right amount of intriging for the Hampton Roads area, that a lot of people wanted to apart of. We will also remember next year to stack up our pennies, the art prices ranged anywhere from $5.00 to $800.00 depending on the pieces. You might think that’s alot but for the artwork shown and sold, it would be worth it.We met artist like, Fabian’s Finest Freaks , an artist whom uses scrap metals and junk items and turns it into beautiful freakish status and figures blew our minds away. Along with artist like Ramel Jasir, Lucky 13, Fusion Ink, and others. The vibe of the whole event was chill and exciting. Food and drink were provided by consession, and everywhere you looked someone new was getting tattooed. The tattoo fest even provided FREE CAKE for a beloved member of the inner circle of the fest owners ( it was good, MOIST, cake!), which was a nice added bonus for the birthday boy and the crowd. Saturday night also rocked another added bonus with Show Devils putting on a awesome show, and a Pin-up contest that anyone could enter. We have to mention our friend, Kaleigh D’Amato, who won first place in the pin-up contest (you go girl!). Did we mention Miami Ink’s own Ami James was there...YEAH he was! It was sad to see the end of the festival come and go, but we didn’t leave without getting some bad ass Tikis from Wave Hog Surf & Tiki and something to eat, which was good and hot. Next year’s Tattoo Art Festival is going to be huge, so make sure you mark your calendars and bring your dough! ‘Like’ Twisted Ink Magazine on facebook!

Twisted Ink Magazine Folk City Tattoo HR Tattoo Fest
+ We caught up with the man of the fest - Mr. John Cann, owner of Twisted Ink Magazine. We ask him about the fest, Ami James, and what to expect next year... So what is/was your vision behind the HR Tattoo Art Fest? Our vision was the biggest and best tattoo show and art show in Virginia, and as you saw; we accomplished that. How hard is it to put on a fest of that size? The difficulty of a show like this is huge. We work all year on production planning and managing production during the show. Even the smallest details if screwed up can fuck up the show! Folk City Tattoo played a part in the Fest. How did you get up with them? The Festival is owned by myself (Twisted Ink magazine) and my son Mike Cann and Nate Hudson (owners of Folk City Tattoo)! Ami James was there? How did you hook up with him? Ami James is a friend! Can you spill some idea about next year’s fest? We have even bigger ideas for next year but we cannot release details yet, but we can promise each show will be bigger and better!! Where can we keep up with you and Twisted Ink Magazine? Twisted Ink magazine is at tattoo shops and other industry related or supported businesses and will in retail stores this year!
