Ajax

Ajax — the most award-winning wireless security system in Europe

A

jax devices react to burglars, fire and flooding, as well as deliver home automation. If trouble comes, the system immediately activates the sirens, alerts all of the users via mobile app and requests for help from the alarm response company. The Ajax product line currently includes 26 gadgets for indoor and outdoor protection of premises. It features motion, fire, and leakage detectors, as well as the control panels (hubs), range extenders, sirens, keyboards, smart sockets, relays, and panic buttons. All motion detectors are pet-friendly. It’s possible to integrate video surveillance into Ajax. Photo verification of alarms became available this year as well.

How does Ajax work?

About Ajax Ajax is the most awarded wireless security system in Europe. The company received titles of the Intruder Alarm of the Year (Security & Fire Excellence Awards 2017, UK), The Best Innovative Product (Securika MIPS 2017, Russia), and the Security & Firefighting Risks (Les Trophées Expoprotection 2018, France).

8

Wireless - Ajax devices communicate via Jeweler radio technology, developed by Ajax Systems. Jeweler ensures two-way communication with an operational range up to record 2 km in the absence of obstacles. The data transmitted by Jeweler is protected from encryption; the devices cannot be spoofed due to authentication. In case of interference or jamming attempt, the system switches to a free radio frequency (radio frequency hopping), as well as notifying the users and security company. Ajax needs less than 0.15 seconds to deliver an alarm. Extra Reliable - Ajax meets Grade 2, according to the security standard EN 50131, as well as the requirements of the fire protection standard EN 14604. The central units—hubs—operate on the OS Malevich, developed by Ajax Systems. OS Malevich does not crash and cannot catch a virus. The system doesn't care about blackouts: detectors have built-in batteries that work up to seven years, the hub has a backup battery that works for 16 hours. Ajax does not depend on the

wired Internet at home — there is a SIM-card for cellular connection. The keyfob signal cannot be intercepted or replaced by a code grabber. If someone isolates the whole security system, the Ajax Cloud server can report a problem after seven minutes due to regular polling. Quick installation and configuring - Devices are connected to the hub via scanning the QR code with the Ajax app. This process takes less than a minute. The default settings are optimal for most objects. You do not need to dismantle the detector's body: Ajax has SmartBracket mounting panels for easy installation. The basic protection kit for the apartment is fully operational in less than 30 minutes. Security Automation - The Ajax range includes wireless plug’n’play sockets, low-current and power relays. You can control the power supply of the venue, or certain electrical appliances, or light via the Ajax mobile app. These things also can be automated with changing the security status. It can automatically turn off the boiler, lower the roller shutters, close the electric lock and shut off the water supply with an electro valve. The December 2019 update brought scenarios to Ajax - Reactions (response of automation devices to triggering detectors) and planned events (security and automation devices work on schedule). The update also included the launch of new MotionCam detectors with a photo camera to verify the alarms. Available for CMS - Ajax security system can be connected to all popular central monitoring stations via Contact ID or SIA standard. Applications - The company is constantly developing the Ajax mobile app for users (iOS, Android) and software for specialists: Ajax PRO: Tool for Engineers mobile app (iOS, Android) and Ajax PRO Desktop, a computer application with alarm monitoring function (Windows, macOS). ajax.systems

Inner Range

Biometrics, dedicated app and Milestone integration with Inner Range’s Inception Inner Range’s award-winning Entry-level access control and security alarm system Inception offers a powerful security solution for single sites with a budget-friendly price tag. Freezing credentials Security managers can now freeze credentials if they are lost or stolen. Credentials can be marked as ‘inactive’ so they cannot be used. But they are not deleted from the system, saving time and hassle when a user needs to be reinstated. If a rogue user attempts to use the credentials, the system withholds access and notifies the system manager. Tim Northwood, general manager of Inner Range, said: “Biometrics and mobile phones are increasingly being used instead of, or alongside, access cards so we’ve updated our powerful yet budget-friendly Entry level system, Inception, to incorporate them. We don’t think you need a very large or complex system to benefit from these new technologies and we’re delighted to open up the possibilities for Inception users.”

Dedicated app

“Biometrics and mobile phones are increasingly being used instead of, or alongside, access cards so we’ve updated our powerful yet budget-friendly Entry level system, Inception, to incorporate them”

I

nception requires no software and is easy to programme, test and commission. As an access control manufacturer, Inner Range’s research and development teams regularly upgrade the system, adapting and enhancing it for new userneeds.

Biometrics for Inception A new firmware update means Inception users can now present biometric credentials as well as traditional access cards to gain entry. Facial recognition, fingerprint scans and iris scans can all now be used as access credentials and this allows for more advanced security configurations for clients. For example, during office hours users could present either a face scan, or card or PIN to access a building but afterhours facial recognition is revoked and users must present both a card and PIN.

Virtual credentials Inception users can now present virtual credentials on their mobile phones via a REST API protocol to gain entry. The REST API protocol is version 4.

Custom branding Another new functionality allows customers to add their own custom branding and logos to the system. These are seen when someone logs in, or when they produce a PDF or HTML report.

10

Last year Inner Range added a Sky Command App to control access remotely. The app for Inception allows interactive control and live status of areas, inputs, doors and outputs as well as simple or multimode area arming options. Push notifications can be sent to smartphones helping security managers stay alert to any changes on site.

Milestone integration An integration with Milestone XProtect video management system allows the Inception controller to become the security and access mechanism supporting the Milestone system. Multiple Inception systems can be integrated with a single Milestone system for multi-site monitoring. The integration means live access and alarm events can be sent to Milestone, allowing a wide range of actions to be triggered within the Milestone system, such as operators being able to compare video footage to a user’s photo to grant access.

World leader Inner Range has been a world leader in the design and manufacture of intelligent security solutions since it was established in 1988. More than 150,000 Inner Range systems have been installed in over 30 countries. Customers include hospitals and high-security units, colleges, distribution centres and pharmaceutical companies, government and critical national infrastructure.

barox

barox achieves ISO 27001 certification for cyber security barox Kommunikation AG, the manufacturer of IT switches, media converters and IP extenders specifically designed for the demands of video networks, is proud to announce that alongside its ISO 9001 certification, it has successfully implemented an ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) for data and information security.

"We place a great deal of emphasis on supporting our customers to help improve their practical implementation of cyber security”

D

esigned to help organisations manage their information security processes in line with international best practice, achieving the ISO 27001 Standard was a key objective for barox, where the implementation and management of the secure communication of sensitive information has always been a top priority for the company. Now that the manufacturer of IT switches for video networks has been certified by an independent testing body, the ISO 27001 certification will be utilised to support the company’s drive to guarantee that it continuously improves and rigorously checks its information security safety standards.

Guaranteed protection for customers and product data

For more information on the barox range of professional video switches, customers can visit www.barox.ch/en or contact barox UK sole distributor Clear Vision Technologies, via 01580 212999 info@cv-tech.tech www.cv-tech.tech

14

The ISO 27001 Standard defines the requirements for the setup, implementation and continuous improvement of a documented ISMS, and the needs of all parties involved are equally important. In addition, applicable legal and regulatory requirements are taken in to account and security mechanisms employed to protect all internal company information. This also includes employee, customer and supplier data, as well as information on product safety: "Our products are used as active components in security and safety-critical systems," explains Angelo Banfi, co-founder and MD of barox. "Therefore it is particularly important for us to

protect this security-relevant, customer and project-related data."

Cyber security barox take a holistic view to the safety of their products, where the product characteristics and the communication of product, project-specific parameters and processes, are all required to be handled safely and responsibly. This includes the entire process from production, through to delivery of the products; including physical transport and product storage. "We take the issue of end-to-end information security very seriously,” Angelo confirms.

Security training for employees and customers Regular training will maintain the high standards required by barox employees in relation to the requirements of information security. Likewise, cyber security is high on the barox agenda, especially within the company’s video switch training seminars. "We place a great deal of emphasis on supporting our customers to help improve their practical implementation of cyber security,” Angelo continues. “For example, we still see management access passwords for switches left in their factory default setting, so making sure that the security basics are understood is a good platform to advance high cyber security standards.”

Texecom

SELECTING A SHOCK SENSOR Shock sensors represent a valuable tool in intrusion detection systems. Most alarm-based solutions can be split into two parts: protection of the interior of sites and protection of the perimeter. While many consider the perimeter as the very border of a protected space, such as a fence or gate, the perimeter of buildings is a vital consideration in dealing with detection. The reality is that many installers and integrators don’t, because the risk of nuisance activations from innocuous vibrations or nonthreatening impacts is too high. This isn’t to say that shock sensors are (or were) unreliable, but the technology used did have certain limitations. The result was many sites missing out on an important part of perimeter protection, as shock sensors were reserved for the protection of secure assets inside the building.

The Texecom Solution

Shock sensors are designed to detect and analyse a forcible shock and provide early warning of attempted intrusions before a break-in occurs, ensuring the safety of people and property

www.texe.com/uk/ 16

D

etecting intrusion in the interior of a building has traditionally been the preferred route for the security industry, predominantly because of standards and regulations. The interior of a building is usually a controlled environment: a sterile zone when the alarm system is set. No motion is expected, and doors and windows should not open. Traditionally the interior of a space is protected by PIRs, dual tech space detectors, some beam-based units and contacts. It should be remembered that while contacts are commonly used to detect unauthorised opening of external doors and windows, in order to trigger an alarm, the intruder must open the door or window. While this does deliver an early alarm, often before they’ve gained entry to the premises, it can often result in damage being caused, which equates to a cost for the end user. Perimeter based detection devices include external PIRs and dual technology units, beambased devices and shock sensors. The latter can also be used for internal detection, such as on safes, secure storage areas, high risk spaces (such as doors of cash-handling areas, etc.), but when used on external doors and windows can deliver the earliest warning of an attempted intrusion. Shock sensors can detect the initial attempt to break through or force open a door or window, and are ideal for locations likely to be targeted for attack, such as ground-level doors, windows on flat roofs, skylights, etc.. Most shock sensors can also include a contact detector, so it’s always best to use combined units on vulnerable doors and windows.

To meet the demand for compliant and accurate shock sensors, Texecom is introducing the new Impaq S Series devices. Designed to take perimeter protection to the next level, the detectors incorporate VIBER accelerometer technology to offer standards-compliant intruder detection without compromise. The shock sensors are designed to detect and analyse a forcible shock and provide early warning of attempted intrusions before a break-in occurs, ensuring the safety of people and property. Catch performance is high, and the adjustable sensitivity makes the device ideal for a range of applications. The new EN50131-2-8 European Standard for vibration detectors mandates stringent performance criteria across a range of surface materials, and the Impaq S Series exceeds these requirements and has been independently certified to Grade 2 by Kiwa Telefication. The range includes the Impaq S shock sensor, the Impaq SC shock and contact sensor, and the Impaq SC-W wireless shock and contact sensor which makes use of Texecom’s award-winning and highly acclaimed Ricochet wireless mesh technology. With five digital sensitivity settings, the Impaq S Series is available in white, brown and anthracite grey finishes to match popular uPVC, wooden and aluminium frames. The detectors can also be mounted on concrete. With the Impaq SC and SC-W models, the Contact magnet can be installed on either side of the device, increasing location flexibility. The Impaq S Series incorporate VIBER accelerometer technology to provide a high level of accuracy for vibration detection. This makes the sensors highly sensitive to sub-surface shock transmissions and immune to high frequency noise. The result is a shock sensor with unparalleled catch performance while actively discriminating against false alarm sources.

BCD International

Video Storage Solutions’ appliances bring innovative features to video surveillance market Launched in 2019, Video Storage Solutions (VSS) is a division of BCD International and supplies pre-engineered video appliances exclusively through authorized security distributors. BCD International has been building surveillance recording solutions for nearly two decades.

All VSS appliances are pre-engineered and validated to withstand the taxing video data write load, while handling the higher throughput demands of video storage and certifying the bandwidth capabilities on each system

V

SS partners with video management software companies to jointly create performance-enhanced hardware solutions that maximize the capabilities found within their software. All VSS appliances are pre-engineered and validated to withstand the taxing video data write load, while handling the higher throughput demands of video storage and certifying the bandwidth capabilities on each system. These systems come standard with state-ofthe-art technological components, such as enterprise-grade Seagate Skyhawk surveillance drives. Incorporating ImagePerfectTM firmware and built on Multi-Tier Caching TechnologyTM, this allows for high image integrity and up to 64 HD video streams. And when it comes to performance, VSS’ Storage Accelerator is a unique state-of-the-art storage accelerator built especially for use in Milestone Systems video projects. The Storage Accelerator dramatically increases storage scalability, performance, and reliability. Best practices-built surveillance systems are write-intensive, writing data up to 90 percent of the time. To support such a workload, VSS’ implementation of these drives allows for multiple seamless video recording environments with the highest throughput performance. Unlike most cost-effective systems in today’s

crowded marketplace, the VSS portfolio is at the technological forefront, thus no need for sacrificing price over performance. This is especially significant in those projects running video analytics or facial recognition while simultaneously recording video with long retention times. The need for multiple servers for these tasks is a thing of the past. VSS appliances can run more cameras per server than any other server in the market. Tested extensively in BCD International, Inc.’s Innovation Lab, the Storage Accelerator-based solution was verified by the Milestone System Builder team as running 2,445 Mbps, while housing 364TB in a single 2U VSS system. While running 2,400 cameras on a single server would not be recommended due to the single point-of-failure, it certainly is refreshing to know you can run 500 of them, and merely be at 20 percent system utilization. When a system is built with the Storage Accelerator, many areas of performance overhead are removed. Total disk I/O bandwidth often limits the capacity to write live video while reading video to archive. Only VSS-built Milestone appliances that utilize the Storage Accelerator can standardize archiving video every two hours as a best practice without negatively impacting the live video database’s performance. The Storage Accelerator is built with high endurance and a 24/7 duty cycle in mind. With endurance rating 4.8TB written per day for five years, the reliability of the Storage Accelerator is second to none, as is the entire VSS portfolio of products. All systems include a Keep Your Hard Drive warranty, allowing you to comply with current data privacy regulations and internal company policies by ensuring sensitive information on your hard drive is not compromised, which mitigates the risk of expensive civil litigation if confidential customer data or intellectual property were to be exposed. VSS is the only manufacturer with the confidence in their technology to deliver an onsite system warranty with an advance replacement, Keep Your Hard Drive warranty on a third-party hard drive. Technology-partnering with Seagate to achieve an incredibly low .013 percent failure rate on tens of thousands of drives per year makes this possible. www.videoappliances.com

TAKEX

PR-30BE: 30-metre outdoor reflective beam sensor with Time-Of-Flight technology TAKEX EUROPE, a leading Japanese manufacturer of active and passive infrared perimeter intruder detection sensors, announced the latest addition to its beam sensor family in 2019 Flight monitoring. The PR-30BE uses Time of Flight technology to determine detecting distance with unprecedented accuracy by measuring both light reception level and timing, meaning no lost alarms from highly reflective objects such as white vehicles. The PR-30BE can be used where conventional beams that require power at both ends are impractical due to either installation cost or environmental concerns, such as across waterways, roads, and runways; providing the performance of a traditional point-to-point beam sensor with the single-ended convenience of a PIR detector. Sized like a twin beam but with several features carried over from the PB-IN and PXB flagship quad series, the PR-30BE includes environmental monitoring which dynamically optimises performance to match changing conditions with a dedicated output giving a prealarm warning if required. Also included is the popular audible alignment tone function which together with the dual-ring viewfinder and monitor output voltage options, ensure easy beam alignment. The PR-30BE also includes response time adjustment, +/-90 degrees horizontal and +/-5 degrees vertical adjustment, and a newly redesigned reflector assembly for a minimum operational distance of just 0.5m.

accelerator for Milestone Appliances. With video grade hardware, the Storage Accelerator dramatically increases storage scalability, performance, and reliability. Tested extensively in BCD, Inc.’s Innovation Lab on a 1GbE network, the Storage Accelerator can sustain 700 Mbps of throughput. When an upgrade to a 10GbE network kit is included, throughput surpasses 2.2Gbps. Traditionally, to reach 700 Mbps of throughput, a system would need to have eight 15K SAS, and to achieve 2.2 Gbps, multiple systems would have to be used, each adding to the total cost. When a system is built with the Storage Accelerator, many areas of performance overhead are removed. Total disk I/O bandwidth often limits the capacity to write live video while reading video to archive. Milestone Appliances utilizing the Storage Accelerator are able to standardize archiving video every two hours as a best practice without negatively impacting the live video database’s performance. With the Storage Accelerator, the total storage of each system can be fully leveraged, unlike traditional configurations using live drives. A VSS-MS-182-M with the Storage Accelerator can fully achieve its 252TB/216TB SATA/SAS storage. This allows for security deployments to be fulfilled with fewer servers, while significantly reducing both the initial cost of hardware, as well as the operating expenses. Codelocks

Access by Codelocks - supporting the transition to a more advanced and connected future

With the rise of hotdesking and hiring out office spaces, businesses are becoming more interested in the future of connected products and tracking

I Investing in a modern access control system provides greater security, practicability and future proofs your business growth 26

t is important for security installers, facilities managers and business owners to recognise how people are working today, review how the business is set up, determine if current entry systems are outdated or compatible with new technology, and ensure the working environment is scalable for the future. As businesses prepare to meet the demands of a more convenient and connected world, investing in a modern access control system provides greater security, practicability and future proofs your business growth.

For buildings that see high volumes of people enter and leave, security breaches can easily occur, especially if the building is not equipped with suitable access control. A door controller provides secure, convenient and flexible access that helps prevent unauthorised access. Compact, standalone programmable door controllers with RFID functionality, Codelocks A3 door controllers range features three different models, providing affordable proximity access control allowing flexible entry for up to 1000 users, without requiring complex software purchases, external programmers or licensing costs. The A3 RFID, A3 Dual and A3 Vandal Resist door controllers provide reassurance and an additional layer of security by acting as a reader where users present credentials via a card or code to open a door. Including a variety of functions to suit a wide range of access control requirements, the A3 door controllers are hardwired and work alongside existing magnetic locks and electronic strikes. Helping to keep costs to a minimum, specific cards or fobs are not required to integrate with the system, as all models are RFID and MIFAREŽ compatible. The A3 Dual and A3 Vandal Resist models also feature a Door Interlock function that allows two door controllers to be linked. For example, the first door will require closing before the second door can be opened. This functionality helps maintain the security of buildings as well as protecting those inside – ideal for storage rooms, offices, staff rooms and areas where valuables and safes are kept. No external programming required; the controllers can be simply programmed at the door. Facilities managers can assign, remove and reassign access for users as necessary. If an incorrect card or code is presented 10 times, a 30 second time delay is triggered, preventing unauthorised users to gain entry. In the event of being forced to open a door against a person’s will, a Panic Code or Card can be used which allows entry and triggers an alarm, if connected, to signal for help. Functions also include Latch Mode which enables passage functionality allowing code and card free access and Pulse Mode allows an adjustable re-lock time to be set. Helping businesses control access and prepare for growth, the A3 Dual and A3 Vandal Resist are also capable of acting as a Wiegand reader enabling devices to be connected together as part of a larger network. www.codelocks.co.uk/ doorcontrollers

barox introduce ‘Smart Sticky’ Enterprise-class network security

“barox Smart Sticky provides a very high level of Cyber and physical network protection for use within a wide variety of applications”

For more information about barox Smart Sticky Enterprise-class network security and range of professional switches designed for video surveillance networks, customers can contact barox UK sole distributor Clear Vision Technologies, via 01580 212999 info@cv-tech.tech www.cv-tech.tech

30

barox Kommunikation AG, the manufacturer of IT switches designed specifically for the demands of video networks, has introduced ‘Smart Sticky’ MAC & IP address Enterprise-class network security.

S

upporting built-in Cyber security on all barox RY-switches, barox powerful Smart Sticky MAC & IP address learning adds an additional layer of high security. An easy automatic process via the barox DMS GUI, once configured, barox Smart Sticky learns the dynamic MAC addresses of all connected ports/devices and VLANS, turning them into secure MAC addresses, adding each secure MAC address to the running configuration, and freezing them and their associated IP addresses – making them, ‘Sticky’. Whilst traditional device protection via MAC filtering alone offers simple protection against unwanted network access, it does not, for example, protect against a widespread attack of ‘MAC spoofing’. Smart Sticky with its combined MAC and IP address protection provides advanced port and network security with Limit Control settings. With this functionality, Enterprise-class Cyber and physical security is provided with the port being shut down in the advent of the unplugging of a camera/device.

Port security with Limit Control settings By learning the Mac and IP address of each and every port, it is not possible for a port to be hijacked. This prevents an ‘unknown’ device being able to access the network to attack the system

for spoofing/phishing, preventing it from being used for malicious attacks. Only devices with a known MAC and IP address will operate on the network. If non-managed switches are connected to terminal devices at the barox switch, Limit Control can be used to block free IP/Ethernet terminals, and prevent access to the network ports of those non-managed switches. “barox Smart Sticky provides a very high level of Cyber and physical network protection for use within a wide variety of applications,” says Rudolf Rohr, barox Co-founder & Managing partner. “This is particularly the case where outdoor networks like car parks, would leave devices such as cameras open to threat, where they could be unplugged, and a rogue device plugged in. “On activation, the barox Smart Sticky function is able to learn the entire MAC and IP address configuration of all ports on a network. In addition, limits can be set to make sure that any unused ports are blocked, to prevent their use and access to the system, whilst active ports are fully protected against unauthorised usage too. Switch rules can also be set to govern specific port IN/OUT TCP streaming, and a White/Blacklist set-up. And furthermore, any changes to network/device configurations need to be authorised to take effect.”

SMOKE DETECTION

Hikvision – DS-2CD4A26FWD This camera is a high-end outdoor bullet camera identified as part of Hikvision’s DarkFighter range. The camera offers very high sensitivity and 1920 x 1080p HD performance with pre-installed firmware to provide video analytic functions. These can be selected from options including Audio Exception, Defocus, Scene Change, Face, Line Crossing, Intrusion, Region Entrance, Region Exiting, Unattended Baggage and Object Removal Detection. Review: The wide range of detection methods mean that this camera can fulfil the majority of current security video tasks. Its builtin Infrared illuminator range and high sensitivity provide very good image quality even in challenging conditions.

TRENDnet - TV-IP460PI

This is a compact multi-camera assembly consisting of three fixed cameras arranged around a controllable PTZ. It is promoted as a “multi-sensor HD camera” featuring a 2MP PTZ 4x optical zoom and three 2MP fixed lens units to provide 360° of coverage. Review: An interesting multi-camera unit which can be used stand-alone via a browser or as part of a larger system using TRENDnet video management software.

Hanwha Techwin – Wisenet PNM-9320VQP The Wisenet PNM-9320VQP is a relatively large assembly that can house up to 4 fixed camera modules for wide area coverage and with a PTZ camera beneath fitted with a 32x zoom lens of 4.44mm to 142.6mm. The wide range of fixed camera modules means that the camera can cover a full 360° field of view or 4 specific narrower views to suit the surveillance requirement. Review: An interesting device to provide wide area surveillance with PTZ support for close-up or automated tracking of subjects. The single network connection means that an existing network camera can be upgraded to a multiview capability without the need for additional network hardware.

Dahua DH-IPC-HF8835FP This is an 8MP (UHD) box style camera with very high sensitivity and intelligent video detection capabilities. It is promoted as a Starlight+ camera. Due to the large format of the CMOS sensor used, the lens mount is an M43 (Micro four thirds) bayonet-style connection. Review: It is likely that lens choice will be limited for some time unless this mount finds more common usage in the security industry. Various compact mirrorless digital cameras use the M43 format so this may be the best way to provide a variety of options, but controlled zoom versions may be limited and expensive.

Flir – CC-3103-01-I This is an IP66 rated corner mounting 3MP IP camera from the Flir Ariel range with a lens viewing angle designed to provide wall to wall and ceiling to floor coverage of the surveyed area. It has a curved front plate to ensure no grip is possible and that no ligature can be attached. A microphone allows sound to be captured and discrete infrared illumination is available for low or zero visible light use. Review: This camera is very simple to get up and running and has a wide range of settings to optimise its performance. Image quality and colour rendition is very good and alarm settings are clearly laid out and function well. The ease of browser access was a welcome change from some supplier offerings. www.psimagazine.co.uk

As always, manufacturers and distributors have no input in the test reports or results Master Lock – CHW30300EURHR0 This Digital Security Chest is designed to preserve digital hard drives, electronic equipment, documents, photo albums, money, jewellery and more and is listed as being able to endure temperatures up to 843°C for 30 minutes protecting the stored contents (reportedly keeping items at 177°C) and it is ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratory) verified. Review: It is a good idea to have some form of security in your trade vehicle for the safe storage of cash. This chest is certainly secure enough to do the job and is not of the kind of weight or shape that anyone is going to be able to get away with easily. With an SRP of just £90 this is a solid unit that could prove priceless.

Ajax – Wireless Alarm System The Ajax alarm system is a wireless based EN50131 Grade 2 range of components that can be mixed and matched to suit a variety of home and office environments. Components are available in white or black finish to suit the décor of the site. Smartphone setup, management and monitoring along with extended battery life mean that the system is easy to install and use. Review: A wide range of detectors and simple set-up process makes for a potentially very quick installation. Good access to diagnostic information for monitoring purposes coupled with relatively straightforward battery changing.

Optex – BXS-AM Detector This is a wall or pole mountable IP55 outdoor “curtain” PIR intrusion detector that has dual narrow passive infrared detection zones either side of the device. Intended for example to cover side walls of buildings in order to trigger an alarm when people approach too close to the property. These side zones have a range of up to 12 metres, giving a coverage of up to 24 metres in total. Review: A very straightforward alarm device with clear operation and simple set-up. Apart from the reservations regarding cable entry and security of access the unit performs well and should prove easy to install.

Raytec – VAR2-IPPOE-HY8-1 This illuminator is a hybrid design providing both Infrared and White light illumination from one network controlled device. The Infrared wavelength is centred on 850nm and a 940nm version is available on request. Power is by 4-Pair PoE or optionally through a separate 24v DC supply. Review: The white light allowed extremely good colour reproduction and did not excessively flare on near objects even at the 100% output level. Similarly, the infrared had good even illumination over distance and allowed a good contrast range for subjects. Extremely versatile.

SMOKE DETECTION

Codelocks – CL4510

The CL4510 is a door lock that combines smart technology with a traditional keypad and card access options suitable for a range of applications. One of the main benefits of the system is that the user can choose the most suitable entry method(s) for the application, therefore not limiting the scope of where installers can specify the lock. Review: The fact that one unit can do so much, especially when paired with the multifunction K3 Connect app makes this lock a dependable choice. Furthermore this is a straightforward future-proofed unit that does not require complicated installation work or either party having in-depth programming knowledge.

Union – DoorSense DoorSense from Union, part of Assa Abloy Security Solutions is a legal way for fire doors to be kept open for access and be able to close automatically in the event of an alarm. The battery-operated system is CE marked to EN 1155 standards. Review: The DoorSense does exactly what it should do and even though it looks like it weighs a ton it is actually extremely light for a motorised unit and therefore does not affect the effort required in everyday use of the door.

Squire - SS100CS padlock The SS100 is a dual cylinder 4.3kg padlock with open and closed shackle versions at 100mm wide. Opening and securing the lock is carried out via the use of two keys. Both need to be inserted before the 20mm thick Boron alloy shackle can be removed from the unit. Review: The marketing for the SS100 claims it to be the World’s strongest production padlock and on the evidence of this review, that might well be the case - it is easily the toughest padlock in terms of physical resistance we’ve ever tested. In fact we found online video footage of the unit surviving 120 rounds (including armour piercing ammunition).

Jackloc – Mk2 Restrictor The window restrictor featuring a five disc locking barrel is tested to BS EN 13126-5:2011 and BS EN14351-1:2006, and while there are generic products available that follow a similar style, this unit is the higher spec end of the market. Review: The simplest solutions are often the most effective and the Jackloc Mk2 with key lock certainly fulfils any requirements without complicated installation. It’s well worth having a few of these in stock should the need arise for window safety.

Seagate – SkyHawk ST14000VX0008 The 14TB SkyHawk is a conventionally packaged 3.5” hard drive with SATA connection. It is promoted as a surveillance optimised drive with “superior image integrity”. Multi-Tier Caching allows for up to 64 HD video streams to be handled. Review: A very fast and efficient hard drive with an impressive specification, vast storage and manufacturer support for data recovery if required. The attention to the specific current and developing requirements of the surveillance industry should ensure that this drive provides the required performance and longevity of service.

of the camera module. A terminal PCB is supplied with a double-sided tape backing, so that it can be secured within the rear housing of the PIR sensor. With the rear-housing’s top plate removed, a knock-out must be removed to allow the camera’s ribbon cable to be fed through to connect it to the terminal PCB. The terminal PCB requires alarm, optional tamper and power connections to be wired to the top connector on the VXI sensor and 12v power is then fed through this terminal PCB to both units. As the VXI-ST only draws 20mA at 12v DC you must ensure any existing PSU is rated for the additional demand of the camera with its IR LEDs on. Alternatively, the camera can be separately supplied from a PSU of 9.5 to 24v. For the VXI-ST version the Tamper is not used. Further terminals are available to feed the alarm connections into an alarm panel if used. The power and alarm interconnection cabling is not provided. The “Installation & Operation Manual” is a single large (A3) sheet with diagrams showing the necessary assembly and wiring instructions, a copy is available as a pdf through the Optex website.

T

he VXI-CMOD is a camera module designed to fit on top of the Optex VXI range of external PIR sensors to provide visual verification of intrusion. It has a wide viewing angle of 180°H x 100°V. Apps for iOS and Android allow live viewing and Alarm events to be notified remotely and viewed by up to three concurrent users. Notifications can be routed directly to a mobile device or if an alarm panel is used by SMS.

Getting started The VXI unit must be disassembled to allow fitting

36

The various items are well designed and though some careful manipulation is required to remove the plastic covers, everything fits together precisely. A rubber flap beneath the camera gives access to the Micro SD memory card slot and switches for high / low IR LED intensity and Internal / External antenna. A side socket allows an optional external aerial to be added to extend the signal range. The memory slot accepts micro SD memory cards up to 32GB and these must be formatted using the Optex Vision app. The LED intensity switch range is stated as 6 metres and 12 metres with a maximum current draw of 400mA and 1A respectively. The camera has 12 infrared LEDs with six mounted each side of the lens controlled by a light sensor beneath. A switched IR cut filter is used to maintain correct daytime colour balance. If the Optex plug-in EOL resistor pack has been fitted to the sensor, then this must be removed and placed in the corresponding terminal block on the terminal PCB. The VXI dual sensor PIR unit that the camera mounts above has a recommended mounting height of 0.8 to 1.2 metres and has good pet immunity if configured correctly.

TEST

The camera is rated as IP55 with an operating temperature range from -10°C to +50°C.

Setup The “manual” gives a reasonable set of assembly and wiring diagrams but very simplified instructions on connectivity to the router and mobile device app. From the website you can download a Trouble Shooting Guide but neither of these documents adequately explains the relationship between the Camera’s internal Wi-Fi source and what appears to be a handover to the client Wi-Fi. There is mention in the trouble shooting guide of a free Wi-Fi analyser app to show signal strength but at time of writing, this does not appear to be available in an English language version. Alternative LAN and Wi-Fi analysis tools can however be used to identify the signals and their strengths. Optex videos for both iOS and Android app set-up are available on YouTube and these do give some additional information. Installing the associated app proved frustrating; firstly, you are asked to give an Allow or Deny response to six questions. These relate to phone access features such as access to files, photos’, media and contact lists. Only when you deny a few of these options does the app inform you it “may not work correctly without the requested permissions”. In fact, it won’t run at all and presents any questions you have not Allowed until you accept them all. While there may be good reason to offer such “options”, the exercise is pointless if they are mandatory requirements. You must also confirm your acceptance of their Terms & Conditions. Clause 2 of the lengthy Privacy Policy document states that “When collecting personal information, we clarify the purpose of collection in advance to the customer, and use the collected personal information only within the scope of purpose of use made clear”. The app gives no reason for requesting access to location data, media or files. Cameras are added to the app using a QR code or related alphanumeric ID. A sample or custom name is allocated but this can easily be changed later through the app’s Device List edit page. During one set-up attempt it was found easier to connect directly to the camera’s Wi-Fi source and then using the Basic settings Wi-Fi option to switch to the client Wi-fi and this simplified the process although it did give an irrelevant “Please unplug the Ethernet cable” message. After a number of re-loads and forced system resets the app did correctly connect to the camera via the Wi-Fi link. Once connected to the camera the Settings menu of the app consists of:

www.psimagazine.co.uk

Basic Settings: - to modify device and admin passwords, T&D plus Daylight Saving, Wi-Fi and anti-flicker. Record Settings: - Resolution (VGA, 720 or 1080) and brightness level. SD Card Settings: - Format SD card and SD card Overwrite (Off / On). Device Information: - Camera version, Hardware & MCU versions, storage size and free space.

Performance Even with such a wide angle view the HD picture detail is good, allowing the image to be electronically zoomed. The built-in microphone picks up local sounds with good clarity. The live image and audio can be recorded to the viewing device or snapshots taken of the current view. The wide viewing angle ensures that however the PIR Sensor is laterally angled, the PIR’s 90° horizontal detection zone is always covered. Rotating the screen to landscape view shows the whole image full screen if screen rotate is enabled. Images are stored in H.264 format at 15fps with a 2 second pre and 28 second post alarm duration. While the replay of recorded clips is limited on the App to simply playing the full thirty second section, downloaded clips can be managed with video replay software and most will allow dragging along the timeline to quickly replay incidents of interest. These downloaded recordings are stored in mp4 format with a simple filename consisting of the word video and the date and time i.e. “video_YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.mp4” so can be readily transferred or backed up. The relatively low mounting height of the device should allow reasonable facial details to be recorded for approaching subjects, but care must be taken to avoid bright sunlight silhouetting people in the scene.

Even with such a wide angle view the HD picture detail is good, allowing the image to be electronically zoomed. The built-in microphone picks up local sounds with good clarity

Conclusion A stylish means to add visual verification functionality to the Optex VXI external PIR device. Some perseverance was required to overcome limitations of the simple setup instructions but once familiar with the operation this should become straightforward.

the camera’s live image. Time and Date was initially set to Beijing (UTC +8) but was easily changed through the configuration menu. For documentation beyond the Quick Start Guide you are directed to a website where the various tools and additional documentation can be downloaded. The more comprehensive manual is of a generic nature covering multiple models with differing features but should not be necessary for the majority of applications.

T

he HDW4431EMP is a 4MP “Eyeball” format camera with infrared support, IP67 ingress protection and IK10 vandal resistance. The camera supports Dahua’s ePoE technology for extended connection distances over network cabling. The 2.8mm lens on this model gives a viewing angle of 104°(H) x 58°(V); 3.6mm and 6mm lens options are available for narrower angle horizontal views of 83° and 58° respectively. A true Wide Dynamic Range of 120dB is stated. Operational temperature range is given as 30°C to +60°C. The specification sheet provides DORI distances based on the camera’s full resolution image.

Getting started

The camera supports Dahua’s ePoE technology for extended connection distances over network cabling 38

The camera is PoE powered with the option of a 12v input if required. DHCP is not enabled by default so the Dahua Configuration Tool can be used to identify the camera on the network and change its static address to match the user’s subnet. First access of the camera requires a password to be set and this must also be entered into the Configuration Tool in order for any camera changes to take effect. A 2.44MB Web Plugin is notified when first connecting via a browser and this loaded quickly and following a password input request showed

While the specification sheet notes Web viewing with IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari, best results were obtained with IE11 and Safari, as these gave stream bandwidth and resolution figures and a wider range of quick Icons than the two (Snapshot and Audio) obtained with other browsers. Edge was similarly limited in features. Android and iOS phone and tablet systems were unable to display images but it was possible to connect to the settings menu screens with Android devices. The IE and Safari browsers also gave a Digital Zoom, Triple Snapshot and Record, Live screen Icons; these icons were clustered at the top right above the Live window. To the bottom left, again only on the IE and Safari displays, are action buttons for Image Adjustment, Image display size, Full Screen, Aspect Ratio, Fluency and Rules Information (Enable / Disable). The IE display indicated a bandwidth of around 4.2 Mb/s on the main stream and approximately 1 Mb/s on Sub Stream 1 when set to D1 resolution, both at 25 ips. The camera can take a micro SD card of up to 128GB capacity. Fitting on this model requires the case to be opened up and this is a fairly fiddly operation. Firstly, with the “eyeball” removed from its mounting, the casing must be opened up by removing 3 x M3 non-captive screws and then the camera circuit board held in place by 2 x M2 screws must be removed. The two halves of the eyeball are still connected by the internal wiring so must be carefully handled while the PCB is turned over to gain access to the Card slot. The card carrier is of the hinged type rather than using a Push-Push slot so again must be handled very carefully to ensure the contacts mate correctly. This would not be an easy field replacement and ideally should be undertaken in a reasonably dust-free environment to keep the lens aperture clear. Card files are stored with a DAV extension

for video and JPEG for snapshots. The Storage menu is used to format the card and also allows for a NAS or ftp connection to be established. Resolution for the Main stream can be set from 1280 x 720 up to 2688 x 1520 in 5 steps at up to 25 ips. For Sub Stream 1 from 352 x 288 up to 704 x 576 in 3 steps also at up to 25 ips and for Sub Stream 2 from 704 x 576 up to 1920 x 1080 with the 1080 setting being limited to 14 ips. A range of detection capabilities are offered including IVS (Intelligent Video Surveillance) settings for Tripwire, Intrusion, Abandoned Object and Missing Object. Alternatively, Face detection can be enabled allowing the presence of faces in the scene to trigger an alert such as event or snapshot recording and email transmission. A small microphone is mounted in the front of the camera and where permissible for use is sensitive enough to pick up sounds in the adjacent area and can be used with the audio detection capability to raise an event on abnormal sounds or significant intensity change. A single high intensity LED infrared illuminator is used for night mode with a Smart IR setting to avoid overexposure of near subjects. IR distance is stated as up to 50 metres, but this would be unlikely to be usefully achieved with regular exposure settings even with the Smart IR off and illumination set at maximum. Shutter speeds can be selected from 1/100, 1/50, 1/25, 1/10, 1/5 or 1/4 second or automatic. The camera supports both ONVIF and PSIA standards and using ONVIF protocol readily connected with an NVR from an alternative supplier.

Searchable Logs and Online User identification. The Access Platform function is a QR code initiated remote connection technology that can be used as an alternative to DDNS.

Performance

A well featured compact camera with good performance and ease of installation

The camera performs well with good colour rendition and sensitivity, but as usual the stated low light figures and IR distance must be cautiously considered. The browser Playback tab allows clips to be played back at Normal, x2, x4, x6 and x8 speeds or Slow at 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 or 1/16 speed. While there is limited video transport capability and no reverse play, the system has a reasonable timeline and good frame advance on playback; this allowed the 25 ips recording rate to be confirmed. In the majority of cases, replay would be handled by the NVR or VMS.

Conclusion A well featured compact camera with good performance and ease of installation.

Menu options The browser Setting tab takes you to a well laidout menu structure comprising a tree list down the left hand side of the window and relevant tabbed options to the right. Where necessary a small Live view window shows the image and any relevant overlay data. The menu includes: Camera: - Conditions, Video and Audio for general Image and Audio stream and profile settings. Network: - TCP/IP, Ports, PPPoE, DDNS, SMTP, UPnP, SNMP, Bonjour, Multicast, 802.1x, QoS, Access Platform. Event: - Video and Audio Detection, IVS, Face Detection, Abnormality. Storage: - Scheduling, Destination (SD, FTP, NAS), Record Control. System: - General Name, Standard, T & D, User permissions, IP filtering, Defaulting, Backup, Auto reboot, Firmware upgrade. is available for downloading that allows the address to be changed, multiple cameras to be identified, firmware updating, and bulk configuration changes. However, the Connect software can only discover and communicate with cameras on the same subnet as its host PC. The camera can be accessed by a variety of modern browsers; Edge, IE11, Firefox, Chrome and Safari all gave similar results with live images being sourced from stream 3, the MJPEG stream. At first connection or after a factory reset, you are first prompted to enter a 6 digit host ID “for technical support” and then to enter a new password, but this is not mandatory. The new password can be either a standard or enhanced security mode level. While the standard level will accept simple password entry, the enhanced level requires a more secure complex password and limits access to certain communication protocols until specifically enabled by the administrator. Camera time & date is initially in manual mode and does not retain data for long if power removed. An NTP time reference option is available but this did appear to return to manual operation following power-cycling.

his Indoor HD PTZ dome is from the Illustra Flex range and has a 30 times optical and 12 times digital zoom range with IR illumination up to 25 metres. An external variant has IR support to 150 metres. As the unit does not require an outer bowl the image is distortion free at all tilt angles. Audio in and out channels are available along with two alarm inputs and two alarm outputs.

Getting started Power can be supplied as 24v AC or by a suitable PoE+ source. For testing a PoE+ adaptor was used to link the camera to the test network. Out of the box the camera is set for DHCP by default or if not available a static IP address of 192.168.1.168. An “Illustra Connect” software tool

The Setup option of the browser opens the cameras menu structure with a tree on the left hand side showing the following options: Quick Start (Basic configuration) – TCP/IP, Video Stream Settings, Picture Basic, Picture Additional, Date Time and OSD. Video – Streams, Picture Settings, Date/Time/OSD, Privacy zones. PTZ settings – PTZ Parameters, Preset, Patterns, Scans and Sequences. Event and Actions – Event Settings, Event Actions, Alarm I/O, Analytics and Event Logs. Security – Security Status, Users, HTTP/HTTPS, IEEE802.1x, Firewall, Remote Access and Session Timeout. Network – TCP/IP, Multicast, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, CIFS and Dynamic DNS. System – Maintenance, Date Time, Audio, Analogue Video, Health Monitor, Logs and About. Edge Recording – SD Card Management, Record Setting and Event Download. The analogue output is set to NTSC format by default, the options are for PAL or Off. Changing the format requires a reboot. Streams 1 and 2 can be set to H.264 or H.265 compression formats and both can work with

TEST

Illustra’s “IntelliZip” functionality to further reduce bandwidth on low-movement scenes. Stream 1 supports up to HD resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels at up to 60fps. Stream 2 supports up to 1280 x 720 at up to 30 fps. Stream 3 can either be 640 x 360 (16:9) or 480 x 360 (4:3) MJPEG at up to 15 fps. Up to 5 concurrent streams are supported per camera. 18 languages are supported. Three light level settings (Low, Medium and High) are given for automatic Day / Night switching or permanent Colour or Monochrome can be forced. Browser connection has a default timeout of 10 minutes, this can be set from 1 to 60 minutes.

Hardware The camera is built into a very robust IP66 enclosure with an IK10 impact rating. A 12-way connector is used for connecting Audio in and output, two Alarm Inputs and two Alarm outputs. Each function has an individual ground connection. A bayonet style collar with a 1.5” NPT thread fixes to a separately supplied mounting bracket. A 50cm safety cable is pre-attached to the camera body with a loop for fixing to a suitable building or mount securing point. The Micro SD card for on-board event storage is accessed by a cover on the rotating section of the dome. A test Micro SD card mounted immediately on insertion with no need to powerdown the camera though a re-boot is recommended. Recordings are stored as “mp4” files with a corresponding JPEG snapshot. Pre and post event periods can be set in the Edge Recording menu.

Performance The 30x lens has a range of 4.3 to 129mm which gives a horizontal field of view of 65° to 2.4°. A further 12 x digital zoom is then available. In general use the lens performed well but for close objects and low light scenes some difficulty in focussing was encountered. It appears that the lens is based on a varifocal principle so may rely on the auto-focus feature to maintain a degree of tracking throughout the scene when zooming out. The Pan and Tilt speeds are Zoom proportional so allow good control when monitoring distant subjects. Auto-flip is selectable. The Manual Pan speed is stated as from 0.1°/s to 90°/s and test results proved this to be accurate when using the mouse as the controller. Alternatively using the on-screen pan icons

www.psimagazine.co.uk

resulted in a range of from 2°/s to just under 40°/s and with PC keyboard control from 1°/s to 50°/s. Presets are called at up to 240°/s pan and 160°/s tilt. The tilt range is an impressive -15° to +90° so is able to look above the horizontal without the image being obscured; this can be important on uneven or inclined sites. Preset position accuracy is stated as 0.1° and this was generally the case with a worst-case alternate direction pan error of just 0.27°. Up to 96 presets can be named and stored. Up to 8 privacy zones can be applied to the image; these track well as long as made slightly larger than the area to be obscured. All are grey rectangles and are set by expanding the zone from the centre of the screen. Sensitivity is stated as 0.2 lux colour at 1/30ths (0.03 lux at 1/4s) and 0.001 lux monochrome at 1/4s. Such figures are not realistic for real-world use but the camera performs to the level one would expect of a current 1/3” sensor with a zoom lens. The menus offered a limited amount of control over sensitivity settings with some confusion between the user manual and the on-screen options particularly relating to AGC settings which only appeared to be adjustable under manual exposure control. The browser Live view shows a PTZ control overlay in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and this allows pan/tilt, zoom and focus adjustments to be made to the camera. Priority is always given to the most recent requestor (last come, first served basis) if multiple users request control. While Presets, Patterns, Tours and Scans can be set up from the browser setup menus, the live browser view does not have preset selection controls available, so these must be selected by a suitable Recorder, Video Management System or Event activation. In addition to zooming in with a mouse scroll wheel the zoom area can be defined by dragging a rectangle onto the live view. Double clicking on any area of the screen centres the view on that area. The camera is ONVIF Profile S compliant so can be recorded on a wide range of devices though some features may be manufacturer dependent. The single zone motion detection worked well though must be used carefully on suitable scenes as the whole-screen coverage can create nuisance alarm events.

Conclusion A very well constructed PTZ camera unit with straightforward connection and configuration. Some minor issues encountered with setup functions and lens performance but overall, good image quality and extended zoom range.

The camera is built into a very robust IP66 enclosure with an IK10 impact rating

Open Door Next day delivery on all IDIS cameras and NVRs

All IDIS cameras, network recorders and accessories are now available to partners with next day delivery with the opening of a distribution and after-sales service centre in the Netherlands. IDIS, which is Korea’s largest in-country surveillance manufacturer, is opening the new distribution centre to improve customer service and accelerate growth by supporting local distributors in each country through much faster delivery times, with all stock to be available within days, not weeks, even for the largest projects. “Our expanded operation means a huge step up in customer service,” says Joon Jun, President of the Global Business Division, IDIS. “It can take a long time for buyers to choose a new video solution, but once they decide, they want it very quickly – we will now be able to do that, right across Europe, and in most cases we will dispatch same day for orders placed before midday.” The company saw 22% year-on-year growth across Europe last year and has developed a strong position in multi-site retail, including fashion chains, high-end boutiques and eating out sectors. IDIS has also built on its success during the 2018 Russian World Cup, when two of the main stadiums used IDIS video tech, with more European stadia now turning to IDIS surveillance to improve visitor and staff safety and manage the risks faced by major event venues. “For most applications customers don’t want to wait for service repairs or equipment upgrades,” added Joon Jun. IDIS distributors will now be able to better support their European integrator partners to win new projects with immediate rolling stock delivery as well as improve service levels with product refurbishments and repairs which will no longer need to be shipped to Korea. “Once a customer chooses an end-to-end IDIS solution they are fully protected and supported at every stage, including for maintenance, with regular firmware updates to protect against evolving cybersecurity risks, for scaling up and system expansion, and for ongoing free user training. Now we can also guarantee much faster product delivery and quicker equipment repairs.” Visit: www.idisglobal.com

Tackling the access control challenge of multi-tenanted offices

Large offices can have hundreds, or even thousands of people from several different companies working inside them. Flexible working trends mean that many different employees, freelancers and contractors could be entering and exiting any given location – and not necessarily just between the conventional hours of 9am and 5pm. Ensuring everyone gets where they need to be without compromising safety and security is challenging. The good news is that an intelligent integrated access control system can deliver the access and security you need. There are many features available to help you balance your site’s access and security needs with everyday convenience. Robust access control that provides all usual tenants with the access credentials is only the tip of the iceberg. To protect your property and assets, you’ll also need an intruder detection system with CCTV that you can access remotely 24/7. And it doesn’t stop there… So what other options are out there? Here are some solutions from Inner Range for your consideration: (For the full list visit the Inner Range Open Door page at www.psimagazine.co.uk.) Managing visitors - Integration with visitor management systems allows sites to control access for visitors by quickly generating new and bespoke security credentials for smartcard or mobile devices. The smart way for a more efficient video security project

The time consuming and costly task of planning, configuration, installation and reporting of a video security project has just been made simple by a very clever app from Bosch, Project Assistant. Designed and developed by Bosch Security Systems to assist system integrators, the Project Assistant app is available to download for free from various App stores for installation on desktop, tablet and smartphone devices, and works on Apple, Windows and Google platforms. We wanted it to be accessible to everyone, because everyone should be benefiting from the control, transparency and efficiency made possible by the Project Assistant app at every phase of a video security project. Now, project set-up and pre-configuration can start in the office without the physical camera. Only the project plans, IP addresses and a password from the client are required for the system integrator to create a new project via the app (or an Excel-compatible file format), with the option to set up per camera, or multiple cameras at once. Clearer views on building safety monitoring

Huge amounts of money have been put into making sure buildings and the people in it are safe and secure; now it must stay that way. That means keeping an eye on every corner of a property, from the front doors to the loading docks and everywhere in between. There are minute to minute decisions that must be made based on everything that happens on those cameras. Even the best security teams have gaps or distractions. Can you depend on them to notice that a trashcan has been moved, a backpack left behind or any abandoned object? Will they overlook someone hanging around too long outside the front door because they are loitering with intent or even innocently? Analytics built into monitoring systems can do that dozens of times a minute, without bias, and trigger warnings when something is out of place. You want the clearest view on the most secure platform available with the ability to upgrade as your needs change. equIP high definition cameras not only makes your building more secure, it makes it more effective to keep watch 24/7. The newest equIP cameras are more secure, offer clearer views even in low light and better analytics than ever before. www.honeywellvideo.com
