Planning for the Future We know the world is changing. We feel it in the needs and challenges facing our clients and our own organization. Fundamental business and economic drivers — from the internet of things to shifting demographics — are changing the way we work and challenging organizational priorities. In our line of work, assets are designed and built to last for 30 years, if not longer. Yet, at the current pace of change many of our clients don’t fully understand what their business will look like in 10 years, let alone 30. In order to best serve our clients we need to do more than understand how drivers are affecting change. We need to be leading the change. To this end, we’ve developed a Strategic Foresight Program at Progressive AE focusing on the impact technology will have on the built environment. The program ensures we are intentional about advancing the Vision of our firm to provide knowledge and leadership that is strategically relevant to clients. To kick off the program, we engaged Joe Tankersley from Unique Visions. As a futurist and former Walt Disney Imagineer, Joe was able to set us on a path of observing trends and topics and understanding the implications of these for our clients. “Progressive AE is leading in the architecture and engineering industry by addressing the future and keeping strategic foresight top-of-mind for their clients,” said Tankersley. “This program will help clients plan for the future and maximize the future value of their projects.” Together, we are reimaging our tomorrows and helping shape the future. Our Strategic Foresight Program will help our firm and our clients better anticipate change, develop new business opportunities, and get the most out of future projects.

The new look was designed by Landini Associates out of Australia. As a long-standing partner of McDonald’s, Progressive AE’s retail team served as architect-of-record and helped bring this incredible new store to life. The new restaurant exemplifies the way the brand is trying to appeal to younger generations, with personalization and convenience at the forefront of the design. Here are a few highlights: • The 11,199-square-foot building will be one of the busiest McDonald’s in the United States. • Three levels of floor-to-ceiling glass provides views into the heart of Times Square • The 9,280-square-foot billboard is the third largest in Times Square • 18 digital kiosks, Guest Experience Leaders and table service await guests • 173 seats in a variety of arrangements adapt to customer preference Landini Associates: Ray Concept and Interior Design Progressive AE: Architect of Record Andrew Meredith: Photographer

Designed by Landini Associates and Progressive AE, this new McDonald’s flagship adopts a more composed and at the same time bold approach to restaurant design, creating a calm environment. The three-story glass curtain wall provides customers with spectacular dining room views out into the heart of Times Square.

Higher Education Projects Bring Home National Awards Two higher education projects were recently honored by American School and University. Cornerstone University’s Jack and Mary De Witt Center for Science and Technology won an Outstanding Design Award from the American School and University’s 2019 Architectural Portfolio. This brand new STEM center demonstrates a connection between science and faith with live walls throughout, a large fish tank at the building’s entrance, views to nature, and natural building elements. The building’s design celebrates science, helps connect students and faculty, and serves as a key academic space for the entire campus.

Expanding Procurement Services Procurement has long been a service provided by Progressive AE. However, our past efforts have focused primarily on sourcing furniture and artwork. We’re excited to invest deeper into the procurement expertise; expanding efforts and bringing additional value to clients. Working closely with our expert interior designers, we’ll be able to seamlessly integrate procurement into the larger design process. By having a single contact point, we’ll save clients both time and money. Additionally, the partnerships we’ve developed over the years give us a competitive advantage when it comes to pricing, selection, and quality.
