Getting your bond back How to get your bond back Property Brokers follows a strict policy when refunding your bond. To ensure this process runs smoothly, please follow these guidelines. All tenants must sign the Bond Refund Form and provide bank account details for it to be released. At the Bond Centre, all signatures are checked against the signatures recorded on the Bond Lodgement Form. Any discrepancy will delay the refund while all parties are contacted to verify their signature. If there have been changes throughout the tenancy, then a Change of Tenant Form must have been completed at the time and given to your Property Manager. If you require any advice on your bond, please call 0800 737 666. Bond refunds generally take up to three working days to process.

Some or all of the bond can be claimed by the property owner should they need to get any work done e.g. gardening, cleaning, damage repairs etc. There must be no rent owing. If there is an invoice being paid off, then this must be paid in full. Any outstanding amounts owing will be taken from the bond.

Cleaning guidelines to assist you in getting your bond back When moving you can often find yourself short of time, we can provide you with contact details for cleaners or lawn-mowing contractors if you would like. You can also use Renti Connections to change your address and transfer your power/gas/internet accounts their contact number is 0800 468 230.

Kitchen Empty and clean all cupboards inside and out Clean the oven, hob, and warmer drawer including racks, trays, and roasting dishes - ensure trays and supplied roasting dishes remain at the property

Rest of the house Wipe clean the light fittings/switches - replace any missing/blown bulbs Wipe down all skirting boards and window sills Wipe any marks off walls/doors

Clean the exterior and filter of the extractor fan/rangehood

Remove any cobwebs

Ensure the dishwasher is empty, filter basket clean and door wiped clean

Wipe/dust any blinds, check the curtain backs for cobwebs

Wipe down the benches, and any marks from walls, doors, skirtings, etc. Vacuum/sweep and mop hard floors

Bathroom Clean the shower - including waste trap, bath, vanity, and toilet - inside and outside the bowl Ensure the shower curtain is clean Empty and wipe clean any cupboards and drawers - inside and out Wipe any marks off walls, doors, skirtings, etc. Vacuum/sweep and mop hard floors (especially around the toilet)

Exterior - garage, sheds and gardens Empty all rubbish receptacles including recycling bins Mow the lawns, trim edges and weed the gardens Ensure any compost/green waste and animal droppings are removed Empty and sweep clean the garage/carport and any sheds

Clean the interior windows Vacuum/clean the floors throughout Ensure the fireplace/log burner is empty of ashes (ashes disposed of safely) and the door cleaned If you have a heat pump ensure the inside filter has been cleaned Ensure all smoke alarms are in position on the walls/ceilings and if required replace the batteries Check that anything belonging to the property has not been accidentally packed e.g. remotes, plugs for the sinks, the Wifi power cable, and roasting dishes Do a final check-through to ensure all personal property has been removed from drawers/cupboards/ sheds etc
