Welcome to the Canterbury Property Guide
Property Brokers Canterbury are excited to bring you our bi-monthly Canterbury Property Guide. It has been a very interesting last two months in real estate, and the most pleasing aspect of the last two months has been the demand from buyers for property, which in turn has seen us achieve some fantastic results for our vendors right across Canterbury. The level of enquiry that our agents are currently experiencing is at levels that would exceed pre lockdown enquiry levels and when we also consider that historically the winter months have been the quietest months in regards to enquiry on properties, this does bode well for those who may be considering bringing their properties to the market. This was recently highlighted by an incredibly successful auction campaign that we ran in South Canterbury, where we took 11 properties to the market on one day, and sold 8 of those properties for a combined total of $3.5million dollars.

These properties ranged from residential, lifestyle and rural, with a range of values from $2million down to $200,000. We had over 150 people present at the auction day and over 14 registered bidders, which created real competition and fantastic results on the day. I share this with you to demonstrate that even though there may be a lot of doom and gloom in the mainstream media, from our perspective we are still seeing great levels of interest and great results right across Canterbury. None of us obviously know what is ahead and there is no doubt there are still some real challenges associated with the economic fallout from Covid19, however, based on what we are currently seeing in the market right now, now is a fantastic time to bring your property to market.
