How has ProSource Wholesale helped your clients?
The pricing is attractive and the team at ProSource is very good at helping my clients understand the difference between a quality product and a run-of-the-mill product. With ProSource, you always have a backup you can turn to.
What’s the most valuable benefit of being a ProSource Wholesale member?
I’ve been doing business with them for 20 years. It increases my profits across the board. When I bring clients to my local showroom, it makes a big impression on them, because they know ProSource is only for the trade. They feel like they’re getting special treatment. And that feeling also extends to the pricing, since there’s a sense of transparency that lets them know they’re getting a good price on a quality product. Plus, the ProSource designer’s technical knowledge makes me look good.
What brings you the most satisfaction in your work?
I love being able to envision what a remodel will look like, then watch the vision come to life and see how thrilled the clients are with the result.
What are the greatest challenges you face in your work?
Here in New Mexico, one of the biggest challenges is being able to find and utilize contractors who are as committed as I am to the project.
What trends are you seeing with regard to home design and remodeling?
There’s a trend here toward much lighter kitchen tile, more green products, and a big shift away from hardwood to luxury vinyl tile for its durability. In terms of an overall trend, universal design is prevalent with a move toward a simpler, more usable space that’s open and accessible, clean, and safe (with an emphasis on textured, non-slip floors).
Describe a recent project you’re particularly proud of. What made it so satisfying?
I had a client who wanted their entire 2,800 square foot home refloored and the master bath redesigned. It was an extensive project that involved a lot of artistic opportunities to create unique looks by intermingling different types and patterns of tile, including developing specially designed onyx tile for the fireplace.
What’s one piece of advice you would advocate to clients (homeowners) before they begin a project?
Do some research online for professional designers to come in and give you an evaluation before you start.
