MANAGER

PROSOURCE OF GRAND RAPIDS (MI)

How long have you worked for ProSource Wholesale?

I’ve been here for four years.

What’s your favorite part of being a team member at ProSource Wholesale?

I would have to say it’s the family aspect of our whole team here. We like and respect each other while working toward the same goals in taking the best possible care of our trade pro members and their clients to help their projects go smoothly, and celebrating successes at the end of the day.

What trends do you see developing with regard to home remodeling?

People are going back to the basics in what they’re looking for in their homes with an emphasis on things like warm tones for a comfortable feel and a desire to create a timeless appeal. We’re also seeing bigger projects with clients focusing more on loving their space, so they’re willing to spend more to get what they want.

What trends are you seeing with regard to products?

In colors, the trend is toward a warmer, more comfortable palette with shades of green being very popular. Also, while white is still the dominant kitchen scheme, designs are incorporating more pops of color, especially in countertops and floors. Additionally, we’re seeing a trend toward more use of natural and light-stained wood for floors along with a lot of carpet.

What are a couple of your favorite flooring products?

I love the Avienda Sawn Face Wyiot Oak engineered hardwood collection because the color selection works with a wide variety of décor schemes. We also sell a lot of the Tigressã carpet with lightly textured patterns. They’re very on-trend and add to a décor style without being too busy.

How would you describe the difference between the service you offer at ProSource Wholesale versus retail or the big box stores?

We build an ongoing relationship with members by working almost exclusively one-on-one with them and their clients at every step, and that includes following-up afterwards. Plus, our team is extremely knowledgeable and has direct access to vendors to help negotiate better pricing.

What’s one piece of advice you would advocate to homeowners before they begin a project?

I strongly recommend that they go online and get some ideas… find pictures of things they like and that inspire them, so we can use those to come up with the best solutions to make their vision a reality.
