CATS is back and better than ever!

Audiences in Providence will be among the first - The Huffington Post to see the first-ever Broadway revival of CATS on tour! This beloved and iconic production has been reimagined for a new generation, with reinvented choreography by three-time Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (In The Heights, Hamilton) and lighting design by sixtime Tony Award winner Natasha Katz (Once, An American in Paris). Blankenbuehler’s choreography is based on Gillian Lynne's original choreography. In an interview with BroadwayDirect, Blankenbuehler said, “I don’t want to break the DNA of the show, but I want to move it a little more quickly, deepen the storytelling, and strengthen the characterizations, so that when audiences see the show, it will be something they remember, but which happens in a way that is not familiar.” Blankenbuehler adds, “The creative team talked to me a lot about the musical not just being about cats, but about finding the common ground where the audience can see themselves in the cats.” Whether you are rediscovering CATS or experiencing it for the first time, this National Tour launch is a chance to “let the Memory live again”!
