1. Make sure the house exterior is in great condition. If necessary, tell sellers to paint trim work, porch railings, shutters, and even the mailbox and post if anything is weathered. Restain decks and replace loose or splintered floorboards. Clean out the gutters.

5. Pay special attention to what buyers will see on the front porch. That’s because sometimes they’re cooling their heels while their Realtor is fiddling with the lockbox. They’ll have ample time to see if porch lights are filled with dead bugs, porch seating is damaged, and the “welcome” mat is dirty or faded.

Licensed together in 2008, Brittney and Kathy have forged a name for themselves as the Dumont team of Compass Real Estate, and though they are now top producers in for the long haul, Brittney shares that, for her, the venture was originally only intended to be a season in her life. “When [I graduated] from college, I thought I would just get my license as a shortterm opportunity while I was looking for a more corporate job. Turns out, real estate was my calling and I never looked back,” she explains.

As for Kathy, the endeavor was an occupational reinvention, and the timing of her and Brittney’s entry into the field could not have been better. eventually became our neighbors. The construction sites were our playgrounds,” Brittney remembers, adding that a lifetime of behind-the-scenes exposure to the industry positions her and Kathy to o er clients well-rounded advice. “We have a unique perspective, when touring a home, that goes beyond the surface. Our ability to provide valuable insights on the overall condition of a home and educate our clients on a deeper level is a key di erentiator when working with our team. We have tremendous vendor networks and resources within the construction industry that have proven to be a benefit to our circle of friends and clients.”
Along with this advantage (and their ready access to Jim should they ever need an expert contractor opinion), the ladies say their commitment to forming genuine connections and earning their clients’ confidence go a long way in helping them create a top-notch experience for their prospective homeowners and sellers. “We absolutely love building relationships with our clients and learning what is important to them in a home and neighborhood. It is never lost on us how big of a life event we are so intimately a part of; it is such an honor and privilege . . . The foundation of a strong client relationship is one of trust that extends beyond the real estate transaction. Our number one goal is to be their friend and resource for life, [and] we treat clients like they are family and really make it a point to understand their family’s unique needs,” Brittney shares.
That level of consideration and care is one that Brittney and Kathy willingly extend not only to their buyers and sellers, but also to one another, and Brittney says she and Kathy feel fortunate to have both professional and personal connectivity. “We are very lucky to not only be a mother/ daughter team in a thriving business partnership, but we are truly best friends. Consistent communication and respect for one another is the core of our relationship. We are each other’s biggest supporters and are always there to be a sounding board. Real estate is a highly demanding industry and does not operate under ‘normal’ business hours. Having a trusted partner you and your clients can count on is the biggest blessing any Realtor can ask for in this business.”

In addition to their love for their industry, the Dumont family members also share an enjoyment of travel both far and near (road trips to the Belmar, Point Pleasant, or Spring Lake are frequent weekend getaways), and a passion for the fourleggeds of the world. “We are dog lovers at the core. Primarily, [we had] boxers growing up, and still, to this day, each have a boxer,” Brittney says, giving a specific nod to Kathy’s pup, Coco, and her own fur babies, Roxy and, the newest addition to her household, Luna, who is a little o -brand (a mini Australian Labradoodle rather than a boxer), but still adored.

As lifelong residents of Bucks County, Brittney and Kathy say they are proud to play a role in the community’s housing market, and they especially love sharing their deep-rooted knowledge of the area with those who are just moving to town, as it’s always an opportunity to see the city through new perspectives. With their sights set on guiding more families through the home-buying process, Brittney and Kathy will continue to lean into their wellrounded experiences to bring their clients closer to their goals. And while helping others achieve such milestones will always be the most rewarding part of the business for the duo, accomplishing this together makes the wins all the more special.

As best friends and co-workers, Brandi and Dineen apply good-time vibes and gal-pal status to everything they tackle as a team, and with some givers-gain attitude sprinkled in for good measure, they have created a real estate partnership that’s built on client care, authentic interactions, and a perennial dose of fun. The duo has found tremendous success as founder and member, respectively, of the Brandi Shaw Team at Opus Elite Real Estate, and they both agree that their ability to lean into their similarities and leverage their di erences is the secret sauce in their synergy.

Brandi entered the real estate arena in her late 30s, having previously worked in the dog-grooming field. Feeling the need for a change, she decided to hang up her sheers in 2017, and she set her sights on finding a vocation where her outgoing personality and selling abilities would serve as an asset. As a result of her upbringing in a family of business owners, Brandi says hustle is in her blood, and marketing houses seemed like the perfect professional outlet for her skills. “I decided that I wanted to be a REALTOR®, but not a salesy

With her mind settled on where she was going and how she would get there, Brandi hit the ground running and excelled in her new venture - though quick success came at a cost. “My kids were 11 and 13 and really in the thick of all the things life had to o er them. It was getting harder and harder to schedule showings around dance classes and Boy Scouts. I was feeling like I wasn’t giving 100 [percent] to anything in my life, and that wasn’t a good feeling. Time flies, and I didn’t want the future to get here and me realize that I chose wrong, and my relationships with my family su ered from it, so I hired my first buyer’s agent. Sadly, that didn’t work out, but, with a little nudging, I was able to talk my bestie, Dineen, into joining, and a better decision could have never been made.”

At the time of receiving the invitation, Dineen’s resume included annuity/mutual fund sales, luxury apartment leasing, admin work, and stay-at-home momming. The insights she gained from this eclectic background prepared her well for the art of selling homes, and, with that prodding from Brandi, she hopped on board the real estate train in 2019. Four years later, Dineen is still happy she made the leap, despite the industry’s occasionally exhausting grind. “It’s hard work but very rewarding work. Knowing I helped [someone] find their dream home and then helped them make living there a reality is so very rewarding to me, and, hopefully, I made some new friends along the way,” she shares, adding that seeing the smiles from new homeowners never gets old.

While Brandi finds fulfillment in the creative aspects of the business, such as brainstorming strategies with her stellar team and marketing sta , Dineen most enjoys time spent in the field, and by combining these strengths, the ladies can maintain focus on their client-first objective. “My clients are so important to me. They aren’t just a commission. I want them to know I am doing right by them. We are honest and forthright and aren’t going to pull the wool over their eyes to make a sale,” Dineen shares. “[Dineen and I] joke that we talk people out of more houses than into them, and I am A-OK with that,” Brandi concurs. “I want these people to look back and think, ‘Oh my gosh, I am so glad I didn’t buy that house!’ and be thankful for us looking out for them and not just our bank accounts. . . I am proud to say that because of this mentality, I have made so many lifelong friends through real estate.”

Of course, to every rule there is an exception, and Brandi says that, sometimes, a little push is in the client’s best interest. One of her fondest work-related memories revolves around clients who were ready to realize their dream of moving to Las Vegas, where they could go hiking and do more of the things they enjoyed. Brandi had to work through some unique challenges and unexpected pitfalls with the sale of their house, but through communication and creative solutions, she was able to steer her clients over the finish line. “I was so vested in their happiness that, in the end, I gave up a little commission, and we were able to get it done. These people not only wrote me the most incredible review on Google, but now, all these years later, I still get so much joy on a daily basis from their Facebooks. To see all the hikes they take and all the cool animals they see on these hikes fills me with a joy that no amount of money ever could. I will always be thankful for their trust in me, because it showed me that anything is possible with perseverance and a little bit of creativity.”

For her part, Brandi tends to find new hobbies and run with them “to an absurd level,” something she attributes to her ADHD. Her most recent passion project is gardening, and (fun fact) she plays classical music every morning for her microgreens and houseplants. When she isn’t hobbying, Brandi can be found spending time with her husband, Wade, who owns Wade’s Comic Madness (a comic book shop in Levittown), and her two “pretty great” children. The household is rounded out by an interesting assembly of pets: two dogs (“the sweetest old man” and Brandi’s “best friend in all the land,” respectively) and two polar-opposite, pot-bellied pigs – one very mean (but still loved) and one very sweet.

On top of these pursuits, Brandi and Dineen enjoy being active in the community, which brings us back to that wonder on wheels – the Jam Tram (o cially known as the River Runner). One of the ladies’ favorite civic initiatives is their volunteer work with Raising the Bar, a Bristol Borough organization that o ers a makeshift taxi amenity, of sorts, to the town. “They provide a service called the Raising the Bar River Runner,” Dineen explains. “If you are visiting Bristol Borough, you can hop on the River Runner and be driven to your next destination. . . Brandi volunteers to drive [it] on Friday nights, and I am her copilot. We have a karaoke machine, and, while driving around, we play music. If you hop on with us (it’s free!), you can request a song or just sing along with us until we get you to your next destination. Considering their zest for life, community, and friendship, it’s no wonder Brandi and Dineen have found their calling in Real estate.
