Recognizing the ill-advised trend of homebuyers forgoing inspections in a seller’s market, Eric offers ways for REALTORS® to help their clients and still win contracts. “Ask a seller for an educational-purpose-only inspection that you won’t use in negotiations,” he says. “Your client will be grateful for the wealth of information we provide. Or have an inspection after closing to help clients understand what they just purchased and how to take care of it.” Home inspections come in handy even for people who aren’t moving. “We have several REALTORS® who call us every few years to do inspections on their personal homes,” Eric says. “No one sees houses the way we do, as a collection of systems that need to be kept in order. It’s like being a detective and an educator at the same time.” When Eric has time to relax, he likes to head to his place down the shore with his family. He and his wife, Dina, have four children two of whom work for Eagle Inspections. “We are a locally-owned, family-run business,” Eric says. “ And we love doing inspections!
