THE P-DTR CONCEPT MASTERCLASS The method of ProprioceptiveDeep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR) was founded and developed by Dr. Jose Palomar and has been successfully used in clinical practice for several years. P-DTR is the first neurological manual therapeutic method based on neurology, biomechanics, neurophysiology, anatomy and the basics of Applied Kinesiology.
Put simply, P-DTR is the practical application of theoretical neurology and it deals with a large scope of functional musculoskeletal, vegetative, endocrine, visceral and emotional dysfunctions.
P-DTR effectively treats neuromuscular dysfunctions, restores the nervous system and its efferent motor response, resets reflex activity and muscle activation sequences, restores range of motion, and as a secondary result – but essential for patients – eliminates pain and discomfort.
The inspiration and source material for this technique is drawn primarily from a profound understanding of neuroanatomy, physiology and orthopaedics. All of the information that you will be taught during your P-DTR educational journey can be found in any neurology, physiology or orthopaedic textbook anywhere in the world. The difference is that P-DTR training will show you exactly how to interact with all of the neurological theory in each and every person that you treat.
The main objective of the method is the removal of an aberrant afferent signal from receptors and the restoration of an adequate efferent response to the nervous system stimuli.
The textbooks will suddenly spring to life in front of you as your understanding deepens and you become able to see neurology acting and adapting in real time.
AT A GLANCE: • Discover how to interact with neurological theory • Further your understanding of many neurological theories • Improve your awareness of neurology acting and adapting in real time

INNOVATIVE ROBOTICTHERAPY FROM AUSTRIA Intelligent Motion GmbH is a leading company in the field of automated therapy for the highend sector of rehabilitation and of highly advanced training-systems for high-performance-sports.
Results of the study: The study consisted of three phases, each of which was conducted over a three-week-period. In the first phase patients have been treated conventionally for three weeks in the rehabilitation clinic. During phase two the Hirob-therapy has been implemented with five 20-minute-long-units a week. In the final phase patients were treated conventionally again for three weeks
Hirob is a robotic-concept developed to help patients with physical impairments (mostly with strokes, diverse neurological problems, traumatic brain injuries,..). This kind of therapy induces a higher activity of torso and back muscles and improvement of : • • • • •
selective pelvic movement straightening of the pelvis straightening of the torso stabilisation of the torso static and dynamic balance
Implementation of Hirob during the therapy is possible over nearly the entire rehabilitation process and can be started already at the end of intensive-care treatments (no artificial respiration necessary). Improvements on patients during ambulatory treatments are also possible with a regular session with Hirob.
“What amazed me most is the short transfer and setup time of the Hirob. The therapy system can already be implemented in the early phase of the therapy since the speed and range of movement of the Hirob can be adjusted according to the requirements of the patient.” Dr. Andreas Mayr, Therapy Director, Neurology.
or, if the patient had already left the clinic, the therapy was deemed completed. At the beginning and the end of every phase the patients were observed and graded in order to record the effect of each individual phase of therapy. Many patients were able to show a significant improvement of stabilisation of the torso, a higher activity of the back muscles, a straightening of the pelvis and the torso and an improvement of the selective pelvic movement. The study was conducted under the direction of Univ. Prof. Dr. Leopold Saltuari Therapy: The Hirob-therapy is basically conform to all those pathologies that cause an instable posture. The implementation of this therapy has showed very positive results on patients with multiple sclerosis as well as on children with cerebral palsy. Other possible applications of Hirob can be for patients with Parkinson´s, paraplegia or diverse orthopaedic illnesses.
“I have been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre´ syndrome. This is why up until recent I could not walk at all. Since I´ve started the therapy with Hirob it´s been tough and I can walk a couple of steps. Because of the daily therapy with Hirob I´ve noticed a vast improvement especially on the belly and back muscles. I would absolutely recommend the therapy, it has really helped.” Josefine Runegger Patient. intelligent motion gmbh Hauptstraße 13 4552 Wartberg/ Krems Austria T: +43 699 173 23 402 info@intelligentmotion.at www.intelligentmotion.at www.hirob.at
