“It turned out to be a great day and we were extremely fortunate the weather held off,” said Stokesdale Mayor Pro Tem Derek Foy, a member of the town’s Events Committee. “The Christmas parade is an important town tradition and to have it return as strong as it did from last year’s unwelcome COVID hiatus is a testament to the community. “Thanks to everyone who came out to watch,” Foy continued, “and to the great de variety of participants, from performing arts groups, Shriners, teachers, cheerleaders, churches, elected officials, civic organizations, Scouts, Parks & Rec representatives, local businesses, antique cars, hot rods, tractors, and of course, Santa! Congratulations to the Friends of Stokesdale for winning ‘Best Float in the Parade’ with their train engine replica to honor the town’s history with the railroad. Big thanks to Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson for visiting Stokesdale and participating as our parade’s grand marshal. Lastly, a huge thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors. This parade doesn’t occur without all the folks who contribute and organize it every year.”
