The Healthcare MBA’s format was designed to offer convenience for busy professionals who aspire to manage their own medical practice, advance their career or lead change within their organization. The Healthcare MBA will provide you with the understanding and expertise to transform your career and successfully lead change in

The program utilizes a “hybrid” format of both online and face-to-face components to offer maximum convenience, flexibility and collaboration opportunities for busy professionals. This accessible, part-time learning format enables students throughout the region to complete a graduate degree in 33 months.

PSU’s School of Business faculty cover curriculum such as finance and marketing, while OHSU’s faculty teach courses focused on leadership and healthcare reform. In addition, healthcare practitioners from OHSU, Kaiser, PeaceHealth and other providers bring their expertise into the classroom to teach courses on quality, operations management and strategy.
The Healthcare MBA students enter the program with a rich array of professional expertise within the healthcare industry. They hold positions as wide ranging as clinic manager, care specialist, nurse, dietitian, radiologist, anesthesiologist and dentist. The Curriculum
The unique partnership between OHSU and PSU offers a robust MBA format that fully integrates a strong business curriculum with a focus on the specific needs and challenges of today’s healthcare industry. The coursework is further directed by the Institute of Medicine’s six criteria for quality healthcare: safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.
The Portland State MBA program’s emphasis on leadership, innovation and sustainability teaches students how to collaborate effectively, manage crossprofessional teams and lead change in today’s dynamic healthcare system.
The program consists of 72 credit hours in these areas:

Application Requirements
Admission to The Healthcare MBA will be processed through Oregon Health & Science University’s School of Medicine and Portland State University’s Graduate Business Programs offices. Applicants will need to prepare: • Resume illustrating professional work experience.
• Two application essays. • Two professional letters of recommendation. • Official transcripts from each college or university attended (indicating at least the equivalent of a U.S. four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution). • Official GMAT or GRE score (Can be waived for individuals with MD, DO, DMD, or DDS degrees).
