MIM graduates can be confident in their intensive business education grounded in a solid business curriculum, enhanced by cross-cultural communication, language training in Mandarin Chinese or Japanese, and intensive Asian field study. Intercultural competence is given equal weight to business acumen and skills development in the MIM program. You attend classes with students from around the world and choose from two global focus areas to further develop expertise. Your MIM degree culminates with an International Business Research Project, where students apply their MIM skills and learn from and work with current or prospective employers. In today’s fast-paced global marketplace, supply chain management has become an intricate and challenging web of legal, governmental, and business concerns. This specialization prepares you for a career in this critical field, with a focus on global sourcing and international logistics management.
G LO BAL STU DY TO U R Knowledge of a given culture’s language and social customs goes a long way toward opening doors that may be closed to your competitors, and aids you in all types of negotiation. MIM students experience Asian language, culture and lifestyle first hand on the 3-week tour of Asia. You will travel together with faculty, visiting Tokyo, Shanghai, and Ho Chi Minh City, with an optional fourth week visiting Cambodia and Thailand. With numerous tours and lectures in each city along the way, you will practice your language skills and engage with distinguished international business professionals. MIM students may also choose to participate in global trips beyond Asia broadening their global expertise during faculty led trips through Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
