EXPLORE CALLING

This is where world-class scholarship meets real-world ministry. For over 200 years, Princeton Theological Seminary has served the church and the world by inviting great thinkers to grow and thrive in an accepting community marked by exploration and innovation.

We’re not just here to challenge you. We’re here to inspire you, to guide you, to shape your journey. We’re here to sharpen your mind and nourish your faith. We celebrate diversity of thought. We give our students room to play, to explore different passions and perspectives.

Whatever path led you to here, once you arrive, you’ll define your calling. You’ll study Scripture and Christian tradition in a new light, alongside peers with different backgrounds and beliefs that will hone yours. And you’ll emerge a capable, dynamic, joyful Christian leader equipped to meet the challenges of today.

THIS IS WHERE WORLD-CLASS SCHOLARSHIP MEETS REALWORLD MINISTRY.

LEAD WITH FAITH

We look to our faith to better the future. At Princeton Seminary, you’ll examine the pressing issues facing the church and society through a theological lens. Whether you’re preparing to lead a congregation or a nonprofit, you’ll find the inspiration, the strength, and the community you need to lead with faith.

Because here, faith and intellectual curiosity work hand-in-hand. If you want proof, just look at our campus. Stuart Hall, a hub of academic activity and innovation, stands beside the Seminary Chapel. Students wrestle with theological issues in the classroom and walk mere steps to share in their faith—together.

DYNAMIC LEADERS

Our alumni are ministers, lawyers, medical professionals, nonprofit leaders, and more. They go beyond the expected—and so do we. Our recent Historical Audit of Princeton Seminary and Slavery inspired a revised curriculum that centers diversity and ensures all community members grapple with the school’s history. And with over 600 field education sites, we take students beyond the classroom to answer the critical questions of our time. With real-world experience and a rich understanding of the past, you can lead anywhere.

HANDS-ON LEARNERS

At Princeton Seminary, innovation doesn’t stop with our curriculum. Whether we’re empowering women clergy or standing against injustice, Princeton Seminary’s initiatives strengthen the church and our students. Academic centers such as the Betsey Stockton Center for Black Church Studies, the Center for Asian American Christianity, the Center for Barth Studies, the Center for Theology, Women, and Gender, the Hispanic Theological Initiative, the Overseas Ministries Studies Center, and the Institute for Youth Ministry promote specialized research and engage the public with innovative programs.

THE FARMINARY

Located on our 21-acre farm, the Farminary integrates theological education with small-scale regenerative agriculture so you can learn more about ecology, sustainability, and food justice.

LIFELONG MENTORS

Our faculty publish award-winning books and articles in prestigious journals. They’re the top minds in their fields, driving disciplines forward with their innovative research. But that’s not all that makes them stand out—they’re not just world-class scholars, they’re lifelong mentors in learning and in faith. They’ll guide you to better yourself, the church, and the world.

At Princeton Seminary, learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom or through experiential learning programs.

It happens everywhere—in the chapel, on the quad, in residence halls. We’re always teaching each other, always leaning on each other, always helping each other grow.

PLAY ON

This is more than a campus. It’s a community of belonging. You’re here to grow, to discover everything God calls you to do. We’re here to support you, to walk with you on your journey. We gather in the Seminary Chapel every day to worship together, and we share the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper every Friday. If you need time for yourself, take a moment to reflect in our community garden or outdoor labyrinth. This is your home, and we’ll make sure it feels like one.

The opportunities on our campus are as diverse as our students. You can join En Conjunto to engage with Latino and Hispanic heritage or join the Asian Association to discuss the diversity of Asian and Asian American perspectives. You can explore student groups by denomination, including the Lutheran Group, Presbyterian Student Fellowship Group, and many more.

Join the Gender and Sexuality Association for Seminarians to support and advocate for LGBTQ+ community members. You can even put your leadership skills to the test in the Student Government Association. With our diverse organizations, you can connect with students who share your interests or step out of your comfort zone to explore new perspectives.

Hard-working and fun-loving go hand-inhand on our campus. When you’re not hanging out in your residence hall or sharing a meal, try intramural sports. We have flag football, basketball, and even ultimate frisbee. You might see your professors on the field, too!
