RESUMO: Este trabalho acadêmico visa compreender a educação para surdos numa perspectiva inclusiva, identificando os princípios necessários e eficazes no seu processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Optou-se pela pesquisa bibliográfica em livros, artigos, legislações que abordam como tema a educação inclusiva e, mais especificamente, a educação inclusiva para surdos. Os resultados encontrados a partir do material pesquisado trazem uma gama considerável de contribuições para o desenvolvimento do processo educativo, através do qual o professor conheça, respeite e valorize a cultura da comunidade surda, dinamizando o compartilhamento de conhecimentos entre professores e alunos na sala de aula. A finalização do referido artigo ressalta a importância da inserção da Língua Brasileira de Sinais (LIBRAS) no processo de ensino e aprendizagem do discente surdo. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Educação inclusiva. ABSTRACT: This academic work aims to understand education for the deaf from an inclusive perspective, identifying the necessary and effective principles in their teaching and learning process. We opted for bibliographical research in books, articles, legislations that address inclusive education as a theme and, more specifically, inclusive education for the deaf. The results found from the researched material bring a considerable range of contributions to the development of the educational process, through which the teacher knows, respects and values the culture of the deaf community, enhancing the sharing of knowledge between teachers and students in the classroom. The finalization of this article highlights the importance of the insertion of the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) in the teaching and learning process of deaf students.
