There’s a whole lot to choose from in this year’s ASCWU elections, Wildcats. You’ll not only be voting on student government and senate positions for 2023-2024, but also have some fee referenda to consider. This is truly your opportunity to use your student voice to affect change and influence decisions at CWU. Let’s take a closer look!

WHAT’S ON THE BALLOT

01. President

Represents the student voice on administrative committees and works directly with the CWU President

02. Vice President

Ensures that all ASCWU Committees are filled with invested student leaders in order to promote advocacy

03. Director of Multicultural Affairs

Helps the Equity and Services Council ensure identity-based student orgs maintain good standing and are effectively benefiting their members

04. Director of Student Life and Facilities

Handles appearances of Wellington and brings student input directly to CWU departments including Housing, Dining, Student Union, and Recreation Center

05. Director of Governmental Affairs

Informs students of local, state and national legislation pertaining to higher education, and facilitates student engagement in governmental action such as voting and lobbying

06. Senate Speaker

Serves as both a voting member of the board and as the chair of the ASCWU Student Senate

07. Senators

Serve as representatives for each academic college and other constituent groups across campus: College of Arts and Humanities, College of Business, College of the Sciences, College of Education and Professional Studies, Undergraduate Transfer, Graduate Student, At-Large (3), Athletics, Disability Services, Equity and Services Council (2), International Students, Sustainability, and Veterans Center.

08. CWU Wildcat Pantry Fee (new)

This proposal would assess a mandatory fee to all Ellensburg campus students, to be used to increase access to basic needs items and support through the Wildcat Pantry.

09. Washington Student Association Fee Increase

This proposal increases the current mandatory fee from $1 per quarter to $2 per quarter, to be used in supporting students’ legislative agenda.
