Style guide introduction This document is a guide to the brand communication style for Scotch Hall Preserve. It explains what our brand stands for, how it’s expressed and how the creative elements fit together in all our communications. The guide should be followed when commissioning, designing or delivering any kind of communications.

1. Our Brand A strong brand image is one of the most valuable assets an organization owns. To make it truly powerful it needs to be applied consistently so anyone dealing with Scotch Hall Preserve knows who we are and what we stand for. Everyone has a part to play in bringing our brand to life. These guidelines are to help you represent our brand consistently.
2. copy writing Don’t over complicate, but share the story. Copy should be compelling but told in an everyday, but refined voice. We believe that a message is better read when it is simple to understand. • • • • •
Be direct and always look for the simplest way to say what you want. Use tone of voice that resonates with your customer. They will appreciate the honesty and simplicity. Do not be afraid to use plain and simple phrases. Avoid overly used words and incorrect phrases.

3.3 CLEAR SPACE & MINIMUM SIZE

Minimum Clear Space
Minimum size
To preserve the Scotch Hall Preserve logo’s integrity, always maintain a minimum clear space around the logo. This clear space isolates the logo from competing graphic elements such as other logos, copy, photography or background patterns that may divert attention. The minimum clear space for the Scotch Hall Preserve logo is defined as the width of the “E” in the wordmark. This minimum space should be maintained as the logo is proportionally enlarged or reduced in size.
The Scotch Hall Preserve logo retains its visual strength in a wide range of sizes. However, when the logo is reproduced in print too small, it is no longer legible and its impact is diminished. The minimum size of the logo for print is determined by the height of the Scotch Hall Preserve wordmark, which should not be reproduced in a size smaller than .75˝ in height for the logo, as illustrated.

5. Typography Scotch Hall Preserve brand typefaces are Futura and Rotis Serif. Futura and Rotis Serif should be used for all applications, except for typing letters, powerpoint, internal documents, or online HTML text. In these cases, use Arial and/or Georgia as the default fonts. Keep typography simple. Do not overcrowd layouts and do not use too many type sizes. Use weight to draw emphasis instead. To add flexibility, the full Futura and Rotis Serif family can be used including...
body copy Body copy should always use Medium, picking out headings with bold. Condensed should only be used for limited space and illustrative purposes.

5. Typography
oblique/italics Italics should be reserved for legal citations; letters of the alphabet when referring to them as letters; scientific names; titles of works, including books, plays, short stories, very long poems, newspapers, and magazines; titles of movies and radio and television series; names of operas and long musical compositions; and names of paintings and sculptures.
headings For headings use light or bold, reserving condensed faces for limited spaces and illustrative purposes.

6. imagery Use simple, engaging, high quality imagery. A range of imagery is available to reflect the luxurious lifestyle expected by our residents. Illustrations, renderings, blueprints, flat maps and typographic treatments are also options. When using any of these types of imagery, ensure that the logo is fully legible.
