The National Library of Israel - A Continuous Cultural Process This project sets forth a new interpretation to Israel's National Public Library through the concepts of time and democracy. In a country and city so diverse, the library is a platform for dialogue and addressing questions of identity. As such, the library should be a mirror of our culture exemplifyng values of our time. It should portray a process of self reflection, internal growth and a common ground for diverse points of view to be shared. Furthermore, the social role of learning is vital for forming and enriching the identity of one's self as well as a society as a whole. Where discussion is possible, bridges may form and an active democratic society may arise.
