Message from the Executive Director

Winter air cools, slows, and gives us time for reflection and renewal. Yet the need for physical warmth can distance us from the social warmth of community. What better way to shake off the winter blues, than to allow yourself to be transported and transformed by the engaging offerings from the stage. The QDF staff and Board produce the QDF Theatre Calendar to help you in connecting performances that connect us to one another. We hope you will come out to play in the dark this winter.

A bold and daring masterpiece. Destinies intersect on a mystical night. In this internationally acclaimed Irish drama, three lost souls weave rhythmical monologues of loneliness, violence and urban adventure into a vivid tapestry. Painting an ominous picture of Dublin’s gritty underworld, their mesmerizing tales take us from busy city streets to the top of an industrial crane in the sky, then deep into the murky purgatory of singing serial killers, vengeful angels and lovesick demons. Fantastical, exhilarating and darkly funny.

The Bad Guys BG Produced by Collective Productions as artists-inresidence at Mainline Theatre By Alena Smith Childhood buddies whose paths have diverged reunite on a late summer afternoon for some beer, grilling and weed—but deep within their friendships lurk ghosts that rock the patio beneath them. Bitingly comic and ruthlessly recognizable, this is the story of a generation at war with itself over what it means to "man up."

The Saint Plays
SP
23
Produced by Department of Theatre at Concordia University By Erik Ehn Directed by Clea Minaker In a cycle of plays loosely based on the lives of catholic saints, Erik Ehn has placed his protagonists, and their suffering in, a modern context. Puppetry, imagery, voice, and movement, conspire to breathe full life and colour into these stunningly poetic tales.

Not Now, Darling
25
ND
Produced by Lakeshore Players By John Chapman and Ray Cooney Directed by Steve Gillam Really darling, it’s just a coat. How much trouble can one little fur coat cause? Watch as wives and mistresses cross paths as the philandering Gilbert Bodley turns to his business partner to keep all the balls in the air after his wife returns early from a vacation. Who gets the coat? Who stays in their clothes? Who ends up with whom? Only time and an expensive fur coat can tell.
