Question 1: What is Pictorial Space according to Le Corbusier? (Maximum 100 words) According to Le Corbusier, “Pictorial Space”is that which cannot be entered and circulated through. It is a irremediably space viewed from a distance, and is therefore enternally resigned to frontality. It can be defined as a two-dimensional image or art.
Question 2: The Flatness of Le Corbusier’s painting’s are attributable to two properties. What are they? And what are these pitted against?(Maximum 100 words) Two properties are extension and mariage de contour. They are pitted against the suggedtion of any physical depth or distance within painting. The contrast between black and white affect the images’ depth. Mariage de contour creates a coherent senses of fluidity between the depicted objects.

MARIO’S WORLD
3
1ST MARIO’S WORLD In my first Mario World, I tried to draw as the same as the pictures show. It looks so empty so l added some characters like the fall, stars, conis and mushrooms. l added some curves under the mountains so make it more like that snow surrounds them.
4
COMBINED MARIO’S WORLD l made a re-planning of the overall layout on my final Mario World. In order to fill the vacancy, I moved the steps and mountains to make the whole world more clear. And l added more small details such as gold coins, stone steps and clouds. In order to make the picture more three-dimensional, I added a cloud base and a ladder so mario can climb up the clouds.

WEEK 4 READING: TITLE OF READING Complete your reading before attempting these questions:
Question 1: Explain the difference between Pictorial (in this case perspectival) space and Projection? (Maximum 100 words) Pictorial was always affliated to a fixed point of view. It records what already exists while the projection constructs those is not exists. The projection expands perspective’s apex of the finite visual cone into infinity and is in correspondence with the true spatial dimensions.
Question 2: Where did Axonometric projection first arise, and why? (Maximum 100 words) Axonometric projection came up for the first time in ancient visual practices because people needed new forms of representation. And they were used to express 3D trajectories of artillery projectiles. The appearence of axonometric drawing extended the mathemetical basis for architectural representation.
6
ILLUSTRATED MARIO’S NEW WORLD During my coloring process, I tried to keep the same color as the original. The colors of the objects’ sides have been deepened, so that the object would look more three-dimensional. Since the forbidden of the gradient tool, in order to make the steps more three-dimensional, I drawed some lines to make the steps have contrast with light and dark. I painted several different colors of the diamonds to consist the appearance of the snow-capped mountains. And l used the pen tool to trace the snowcap individually in order to make mountains realier.

Set-up axnometric workspace on the desk and project the first 2D Mario World forward at 45 degree angle using A3 greaseproof paper overlaid the template. And layout the second Mario World backword so it touches with the first world.
Annotation. Insert 3-4 images of your drawing in progress
Complete the drawing based on the tutors’ feedback. Details to be added include characters, game objects. And finally scan them.
