3rd hour prayers

At the third hour (9:00 A.M.), Eve the mother of all was created. Daniel the prophet prayed to እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher [God]; the Incarnation of Kristos [Christ] was announced by the angel Gabriel; እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the Lord was chastised in the presence of Pilate and the Holy Spirit descended at Pentecost.

A Call to Praise Igziabher/the LORD for His Righteousness.

O sing to እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the LORD a new song, for He has done wonderful things, His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him. ጃ 2 እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/The LORD has made known His salvation; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations. ጃ 3 He has remembered His loving kindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our አምላካ/Amlaka/God. 4 Shout joyfully to እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the LORD, all the earth; break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.

5 Sing praises to እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the LORD with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. ጃ 6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn; shout joyfully before ንጉሥ/Nigus/the King, እግዚአብሔር Igziabher/the LORD. ጃ 7 Let the sea roar and all it contains, the world and those who dwell in it. ጃ 8 Let the rivers clap their hands, Let the mountains sing together for joy ጃ 9 Before እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth; He will judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with equity. ጃ

Psalm 23

እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters.

He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoints my head with oil; my cup runs over.

Psalm 12 እግዚአብሔር /Igziabher/God,

a Helper against the Treacherous.

Help, አቤቱ/Abêtu/LORD, for the godly man ceases to be, For the faithful disappeared from among the sons of men.

2 They speak falsehood to one another; with flattering lips and with a double heart they speak.

3 May እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the LORD cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaks great things; 4 Who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; who is lord over us?”

5 “Because of the devastation of the afflicted, because of the groaning of the needy, Now I will arise,” says እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the LORD; “I will set him in the safety for which he longs.”

6 The words of እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/the LORD are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.

7 Thou, O አቤቱ/Abêtu/LORD, will keep them; Thou will preserve him from this generation forever.

8 The wicked strut about on every side when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

Prayer: Almighty Father, my እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/God! Grant that all conspiracies against me may be set at naught; turn away from me all danger and injury, and thine is the kingdom and the power. Amen. – Selah

Psalm 96 1 O sing unto እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/Lord a new song: sing unto እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher [Lord], all the earth.

2 Sing unto እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher [Lord], bless His name; show forth His salvation from day to day.

3 Declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people.

4 For እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: He is to be feared above አማልክት/amlikit/all gods.

5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but ዚአብሔር/Igziabher/Lord made the heavens.

6 Honor and majesty are before Him: strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

7 Give unto እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto እግዚአብሔር Igziabher glory and strength.

8 Give unto እግዚአብሔር Igziabher the glory due unto His name: bring an offering, and come into His courts.

9 O worship እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before HIM, all the earth.

10 Say among the heathen that እግዚአብሔር [Igziabher/Lord] reigns: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: He shall judge the people righteously.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.

12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice 13 Before እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher/Lord: for the He comes, for He comes to judge the earth: He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

Psalm 97

1 እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

2 Clouds and darkness are round about Him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of His throne.

3 A fire goes before Him, and burns up his enemies round about.

4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw and trembled.

5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher, at the presence of እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher of the whole earth.

6 The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the people see His glory.

7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship Him, all ye gods.

8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of Thy judgments, O አቤቱ Abêtu.

9 For thou, እግዚአብሔር, art high above all the earth: Thou art exalted far above all gods.

10 Ye that love እግዚአብሔር hate evil: He, እግዚአብሔር, preserved the souls of His saints; He delivered them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Rejoice in እግዚአብሔር, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of holiness.

የእምነትም ጸሎት/YeImnät Tsälot/The Prayer of Faith ፩ 1. We have faith in አንድ አምላክ /And Amlak/ One God, እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and all things visible and invisible. ፪ 2. And we have faith in አንድ ጌታ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ /And Geta EeYesus Kristos [One Lord Jesus Christ], the only begotten Son of the Father, who was with Him before the creation of the world. ፫ 3. Light from light, true አምላክ/Amlak/God from true አምላክ/Amlak/God, begotten not made, of one essence with the Father. By whom all things were made, and without Him was not anything in heaven or earth made. ፬ 4. Who for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, was made man, and was incarnate from the መንፈስ ቅዱስ/ Menfes Qidus/Holy Spirit, and from the ቅድስት ድንግል ማርያም/Qidist Dingil Mariyam/Holy Virgin Mary. ፭ 5. Became man, was crucified for our sakes in the days of Pontius Pilate, suffered, died, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day as was written in the መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ/Mätshäf Qidus/Holy Scriptures. ፮ 6. Ascended in ክብር/kibir/glory into heaven, sat at the right hand of His Father, and will again come in ክብር/kibir/glory to judge the living and the dead. There is no end of His reign. ፯ 7. And we have faith in the መንፈስ ቅዱስ//Menfes Qidus/Holy Spirit, the lifegiving አምላክ/Amlak/God, who proceedeth from the Father. ፰ 8. We worship and glorify Him with the Father and the Son, who spoke by the prophets. ፱ 9. And we honor the one ቅዱስ/Qidus/Holy universal Apostolic church. ፲ 10. And we trust in one Baptism for the remission of sins, and wait for the resurrection from the dead and the life to come. World without end. አሜን/Amen.

Thou are ድንግል/Dingil/Virgin in መንፈስ/Menfes [Spirit] as well as in body O thou እናት/Inat [Mother] of Perfect እግዚአብሔር/Igziabher [God], ሰላም/selam [peace] be unto thee.
