A two-hour innovative, immersive, hands-on session developed to give non-autistic people an experience of the sensory processing difficulties faced by people on the autism spectrum. It really is as true to life as currently possible and is changing the landscape of understanding autism.
Now I understand better, I’ll be making several changes to improve my son’s life.
A scientifically, medically proven method of giving a person with a healthy brain an experience of what dementia might be like. Delegates enter that world and gain a better understanding of how simple changes can improve the lives of those with dementia.
Two-hour practical session
This course made me cry but I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Going to do things differently now.
Learn how to move objects and people safely and securely.

It renewed my confidence. I feel much happier to move mum now.
• Learn what to do in a mental health crisis and be confident putting your knowledge into action.
• Recognise a person who might need help and understand how best to approach them.
• Be able to save a life by learning basic suicide intervention skills. Learn what protects your own and other people’s mental health.
Four three-hour sessions - you must attend all sessions.

All these treatments last approx 60-75 mins (with the exception of the 30-minute tasters) and will take place at the college. Please allow time for some lifestyle questions and feedback.

There’s strong evidence to suggest carers are unaware of their rights, which may be a barrier to accessing vital support.
Age Scotland offers free, accessible training for unpaid carers of people with dementia to ensure a greater understanding of theirrights, and how to access them. Workshops last 90 minutes and provide follow up information afterwards.
