Piper: Light as a feather, delicate little stitches. Our soft and fuzzy single-ply merino/mohair yarn is the choice for transitional knits that are great to have on hand for the cusp of the seasons. We dreamed up five airy knits showcasing Piper’s versatility: A yarn light enough to be called a lace weight, that yet provides a warmth that belies its slightness. Tiny decorative elements that allow the yarn’s unique character to sing are the focus of the designs in Piper 2018.

Elizabeth Smith Elizabeth Smith is a knitting designer who has called the Portland, Maine area home for the last 13 years. She learned to knit just before moving to Maine, and she turned her passion for the craft into a designing career 8 years ago. about Piper 50% Texas super kid mohair, 50% Texas superfine merino / Grown, spun, dyed in USA Heavy lace weight 305yd [279m] / 50g 7 sts / 1 inch on size US 3 [3.25 mm] needles 6 sts / 1 inch on size US 5 [3.75 mm] needles Piper is our pretty little southern bird. We sourced the softest super fine kid mohair we could find from a Texas herd of angora goats and blended it with super fine Texas merino to make a lighter-than-air, almost lace weight single-ply yarn. Piper has a pretty halo and a subtle sheen, thanks to the long, silky fibers of the mohair. Shop Piper.
