One day, on a stroll through Quince’s Instagram feed, we stopped and stared in awe: A pretty detail of a colorwork sweater in the most arresting color combination, rising like the new day’s sun from the bottom of the screen. The delicate motifs and the way the colors interacted with each other stood out amongst the many other beautiful, ornate colorwork knits that have captured our collective imagination so completely these past few seasons. The design force behind these stunning stitches: Trin-Annelie, new to us at the time. With high hopes we reached out to her for a potential design collaboration with Quince—maybe a sweater? We were so blown away by the submission options she sent in that we begged a complete collection from her, and thus this body of work came to be. Captivated by her keen sense of color, the innate sense of balance so beautifully rendered in numerous shades

of wool, and the impressive number of options she provided for each one, we excitedly got to work. The result is Winterwork, a collection of seven pieces. Not stopping at colorwork, Trin-Annelie also produced two singlecolor projects featuring pretty cable and lace details. Included in this ebook is a peek into the designer’s process—the illustrations included in her submissions make easy work of visualizing different colorways—as well as tips on how to use your swatch to calculate modifications to suit individual fit preferences. We so enjoyed every moment of Winterwork’s production from day one, and we hope the making of these pieces brings you the same warmth and enjoyment that we felt in bringing the collection to you! ~ the Quince team

A b o ut t he d e s ig ne r Having always been a very creative person, Trin-Annelie studied architecture and film & media design and is now working as a 3D-artist for architectural visualization. She knits in her spare time, and is fairly new to designing, having published her first pattern in 2016, with a love of classic designs and subtle color combinations. Trin-Annelie lives in the picturesque, old town of Herrenberg in Southern Germany, with her partner and two cats. ravelry: Trin-Annelie instagram: trin_annelie
