The warm aura of a mohair halo, the airy loft of woolen spun alpaca, tweedy nups of organic cotton, and the low sheen of tussah silk—this collection explores the subtle effects of light and shadow across our signature wool blends. Drawing inspiration in equal parts from architecture and nature, Atelier features eleven cozy knits to delight and inspire your making throughout the fall. Rich textures, tonal color pairings, and knitterly details abound in these designs, featuring our wool blend yarns—Piper, Crane, Owlet, Owl, Wren & Tern, with a few assists from our classic core wools, Finch, Chickadee Organic Heathers, and Lark. W hether it’s cables, bobbles, brioche or garter stitch your needles are craving, we hope you’ll find inspiration for your next project right here, in Atelier.

Valentina Consalvi design: f lâneur Valentina Consalvi has loved to knit since childhood, but started knitting seriously about ten years ago, when she discovered Ravelry and the whole knitting world and got addicted! She started dyeing yarn by hand in her kitchen, finding inspiration in nature. As her color sense developed, she started imagining pieces inspired by those colors, and so started her knitwear design journey. She currently lives in Italy, in the beautiful area of Castelli Romani, in the Rome countryside. You can find her on Instagram as @snailyarn and on ravelry as Valentina Consalvi.

Keiko Kikuno design: dérive Keiko Kikuno is a Japanese knitter, spinner and knitwear designer living in the U.S. who likes to play with textures and colors. Her designs are often inspired by natural wonders and Japanese culture. You can find Keiko on Instagram as @keikokikuno.

Cassie LaFollette design: mansard Cassie’s designs are inspired by nature, play, and minimalism. She loves finding subtle ways to combine texture and color in knitting, and she most enjoys working with natural, local fibers. She lives in Minnesota with her husband and three kids, and her kids have a funny habit of balancing each freshly wound yarn cake on top of their heads like a prize. You can find Cassie on Ravelry as CassieLaFollette, on Instagram as @ cassielafolletteknits, and on her website, cassieknits.com.

Hanna Maciejewska design: parti Hanna happily admits to being a yarn lover and knitting maniac. She lives in Poland with her husband and 11-year-old daughter, who sometimes draws things for her to knit up.
You can find Hanna on Ravelry as HadaKnits, on Instagram and Twitter as @hada131 and on her website, hadaknits.com.

Katherine Mehls design: proun Katherine Mehls knits, designs and teaches in Rhode Island. She has designed for Quince & Co., Vogue Knitting, Noro Knitting Magazine, Knit Simple, Knitting Fever International, and Sixth & Spring Books. She can be found on Ravelry as KatherineMehls. Her website is cloudknitting. com — which she promises to re-visit and revive, after she finishes this one last row!

Ruth Nguyen design: cornice Ruth Nguyen is a lifelong knitter & crocheter with a zeal for combining modern and traditional elements in her designs. She experiments regularly with all kinds of stitch patterns, yarns, and creative processes (knitting while reading Dostoevsky is no problem, but thus far she’s failed to knit in her sleep). Ruth can be found on her website, redearthdesignstudio.com, on Pinterest as @redearthdesignstudio, and on Ravelry as Ruth Nguyen.

Frances Othen-Wales design: belvedere Frances Othen-Wales is a knitwear designer based in Hertfordshire, UK. Her design aesthetic is focused on new interpretations of classic shapes and construction techniques, clean lines, and the use of sustainable fibers. You can find Frances on her website, francesothenwales.com, on Instagram as @camomileknits and on Ravelry as Frances Othen-Wales.

Paulina Popiolek design: pilotis Paulina Popiolek’s passion for knitting stems from a very young age. Since her very first attempts, she would experiment with different stitches and shapes. This interest slowly evolved into designing. Although trained in nutritional science, her fascination with design eventually found an outlet when Ravelry came into existence. What once was a hobby turned into a profession. Her patterns are now published on Ravelry and some publications and hard copies are available in selected yarn shops. Paulina lives in Surrey, United Kingdom with her very patient husband and two cats. She can found on Ravelry as PaulinaP.

Jordan Prouty design: enfilade Jordan Prouty learned to knit in 2010 and began designing knitwear in 2017. She lives with her husband and their four kids in Michigan, but they can frequently be found traveling in their camper, exploring the wonders of the natural world, with Jordan finding inspiration for her designs in the beauty of creation. You can find Jordan on Ravelry and Instagram as @BluePointKnits.

Isabelle Ryan design: poché Isabelle Ryan is a Baltimore born and bred knitter with a rather serious yarn problem! She loves hiking and adventuring and tries to create pieces for herself and others that are both beautiful and utilitarian! You can find Isabelle’s work on Instagram at @alltangledupknits and on Ravelry as Isabelle Ryan.

Emma Vining design: charrette Emma Vining is a creative designer with a passion for all aspects of hand knitting and design. Her inspiration comes from both the natural world and the urban environment and her favourite style of knitting combines multiple cables with textured stitch patterns. She is the author of A Knitter’s Sketchbook: Design Inspiration for Twists and Cables and her new book, A Knitter’s Guide to Shawl Design, will be published in November 2021. You can find Emma on Instagram and Ravelry as Purlemma and on Twitter as @Purlemma.
